Today, a guest post from Abdul Rahman Al Ze'bi, who thinks Our Beloved Valencia needs a lot of
stuff, like a new coach.
Agree? Disagree? Think Emery is over-caffeinated?

Take it away, Abdul ...
What Does Valencia CF need?
This has been the question everyone asks.
Now that the dust has settled, here's a look at some of the transfers that took place during the
January transfer window, and see if we can separate the wheat from the chaff.
Whereas last season money was being splashed out on the likes of Fernando Torres and Andy
Carroll like a mad gambler who got his greasy mits on a load of free bets, the window this time
around was a lot more sensible, indicating a lot less value in the market.
The 2012 January transfer window was a rather more sedate affair than it's 2011 predecessor.
Money was spent much more sensibly this time around as opposed to being thrown around like a
compulsive gambler who had hacked into a free bets website.
Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez did not get a move away from the Etihad and Manchester
United did not break the bank to sign Wesley Sneijder.
The winter transfer window in Europe is set to close today, and teams are still scrambling to
fill vacancies and address needs for the second half of their respective seasons.
While we don't seem likely to have any megastars making winter transfer moves, despite resurgent
rumors of Carlos Tevez to AC Milan, there is still some serious talent changing addresses.

Here's Chelsea's latest acquisition, promising young Belgian winger Kevin De Bruyne (who
definitely has a whiff of the 'The Sherminator' about him), holding his new
uniform aloft for the cameras at Cobham after signing from Genk for £6.7 million earlier
today.
Well after signing Gary Cahill, it hasn't taken Chelsea long to get their business done before the
game tonight as the Belgian side have announced that we have signed Belgian International Kevin De
Bruyne on a five and a half year deal for a reported £7m. DeBruyne will remain with Genk on loan
until the end of the season.
Ah hell. Not this shit again.
Oh joy. We've reached that special day of days in which insanity and panic trumps all. Well, you
know, perhaps it's money that trumps all. Yeah, it's the cake.
This is January transfer deadline day. A war amongst men. Not really, but you know what I'm
getting at.
Chelsea manager Andre Villas-Boas insists that he is not the right man to discuss a potential
deal for Genk youngster Kevin De Bruyne and also feels that "certain issues" will prevent the club
from signing Brazil international Willian from Shakhtar Donetsk.
Speaking ahead of Chelsea's FA Cup visit to cross-town rivals QPR a fixture that Villas-Boas
desperately wants to win in order to get one step closer to silverware the Blues gaffer told
reporters that neither De Bruyne nor Willian were in his immediate plans.
We have all wondered about the situation regarding transfers now AVB is in charge. Reports were
that he had 100% say on all comings and goings at the club. Well today, in his press conference
ahead of the game tomorrow, AVB has confirmed that isn't the case.
We have been heavily linked with Genk's exciting winger Kevin De Bruyne for the last few seasons
and
things have come to a head this week with reports that a deal would be agreed between
the two clubs for him to sign for Chelsea and be loaned straight back to Genk to finish the Belgian
season.
Buy Belgian. Ho.
We talked yesterday about the club allegedly reentering talks with Racing Genk over the transfer
of the young Belgium international Kevin De Bruyne. Those talks (gasp) are actually true.
This according to a spokesman for Genk:
Dirk Degraen is in London and the expectation is that it (the transfer of De Bruyne) will be
finished this week.
Not entirely sure about the source material, but Chelsea have allegedly re-engaged in talks with
Racing Genk over the transfer of the 20-year-old that looks not a day over 12 Kevin De Bruyne.
Young Money
As you may recall, the club inquired about De Bruyne in the summer.

Sorry for the lack of posts over the past couple of days. Quite a bit going on in my world at
that moment. Now, with the pleasantries out of the way, let's take a look at what's been going on
since our much-needed win at Wolves. Turns out, this has been a relatively newsworthy day for the
Chels.

It really is make or break for Chelsea tonight and I cannot emphasise enough just how important the
right result is for our season. We have come up against adversity in recent weeks and took a
massive step in the right direction
at Newcastle on Saturday.
I have to stress that it's important that we do not get carried away as there is plenty still to
do.
AVB held his pre match press conference yesterday and was keen to point out that Chelsea will not
be sitting back to try and keep a clean sheet to progress to the knockout stages tonight but will
be going all out to win the game which is good to hear.
He said:
People have seen us play enough now to be sure we always take the initiative in games,
We know that Valencia want to get something because a goal for them makes the game even more
difficult for us, but we won't change our strategy just because it is an important game
We will take the initiative and we don't play counter attack or use the long balls.
By Chris Wright
With precious little margin for error, Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are all
left needing specific results to fall into their lap to progress, with many online gambling
companies offering fairly tempting odds on a complete, three-way Anglo-centric balls-up.
Man City & Chelsea's Champions League hopes hang in the balance, as Ajax faces Real Madrid
juggernaut - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
The last round of the Champions League group stages sees a number of mouthwatering and do-or-die
ties. If you're going to be betting on football, you should be very careful where you put your
money.
Barcelona are six points behind Liga leaders Real Madrid after a shocking 1-0 defeat at Getafe.
Earlier in the day Real Madrid continued their dominance over their city rivals with a 4-2 defeat
of Atletico Madrid who ended up with only 9 men after Thibaut Courtois and Diego Godín were both
sent off.
It's tough seeing my club embroiled in such poor results. Looking back:
- ManU 3-1
This one was an amazing game, Manchester edged it but there was so much to take away from our
performance that the season looked bright.
- QPR 1-0
The surprise.

We rather liked the look of Moritz Leitner when he replaced Sven Bender in Arsenal's victory over
Dortmund last night. Further investigations confirmed that he is indeed the type of tender,
succulent manmeat we thrive on. Anyone else feeling peckish? Image: Getty Images.
Marginally better that Tuesday night's action, if your criteria includes clothing removal,

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE continued tonight with two SPANISH FOOTBALL Clubs involved in Group duties &
with positive outcomes. Here is a short summary of events, the final results & the scorers. Roberto
Soldado VALENCIA CF needed to win its Group E match against GENK to keep alive its qualifying hopes
& they did things in smashing fashion.
There are top-quality UEFA Champions League matchups all over the schedule on Wednesday, but
none will command as much attention as the AC Milan-Barcelona battle at the San Siro. Milan striker
Zlatan Ibrahimovic faces his former team for the first time, adding plenty of juice to an already
intriguing game.
In the wake of their widespread criticism in the press following their 2-1 defeat at home to
Liverpool, Chelsea's visit to Germany to take on Bayer Leverkusen tonight has much more attention
than their manager would like, and a result will prove crucial for a boost in morale.
The Blues have not won since their 5-0 smashing of Genk over a month ago, and though they
currently lead second-placed Leverkusen by 2 points, another defeat would give the Bundesliga side
and Valencia (in third spot with 5) hopes of topping the group themselves, and make the rumors
about Guus Hiddink's potential arrival a bit louder.
Chelsea's André Villas-Boas says Fernando Torres still worth £50m
• Villas-Boas insists Torres is performing well for Chelsea • 'He's one of our best
suppliers of assists,' says manager André Villas-Boas has insisted that Fernando Torres has been
worth the British-record £50m fee paid to Liverpool to secure his services last January and
believes he can still rediscover the goalscoring form of his early days in the Premier League.
Following on from yesterday when I asked you to give your opinion's on AVB's start as Chelsea
Manager, listing my reports and views on every single one of our games so far, I thought it's time
to turn todays focus on the players.
So who do you, the Chelsea fan or football fan reading this, think has been our best and most
consistent player of the season so far?
So we are now three months into the season and on yet another International break, so with all
things Chelsea quieter than normal I am taking the time today to ask each and every single one of
you that reads this post, to give me your verdict on AVB's first three months as our manager.
Now I understand some of you read something like this and do not have the time to comment, but I
would love to hear from as many blues fans as possible all over the world on this to get a general
feeling from you all.
OK, moving on after the nightmare of last week and the disaster in Genk, Chelsea take a trip to
Ewood Park to take on Blackburn this Saturday and I am wondering who AVB will pick to start the
game.
We have all seen and discussed the situation with our defending lately and AVB has take time again
today to confirm that it is something we are working on in addition to creating and taking our
chances to win games rather than miss them and it costs us.
"You know what you are. You know what you are, Anton Ferdinand. You know what you are." Those were
the chants from a section of Chelsea fans in Genk during Tuesday night's Champions League clash.
Tell me it ain't so. ...

Jonas scored the second fastest goal in Champions League history and Valencia beat Bayer
Leverkusen 3-1 to pick up a crucial Group E victory Tuesday.
With just over ten seconds on the clock Jonas calmly capitalised on a terrible clearance from
Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno to give Valencia the dream start that they had been looking
for.
Two Londoners, Arsenal and Chelsea both failed to confirm their passage into the next round of
Champions League on Tuesday after they couldn't get the much needed three points from their
opponents.
The Gunners didn't managed to repeat their previous successful victory against Marseille after
being held into a stalemate against the French's side, meanwhile Chelsea surprisingly also couldn't
replicate their earlier success against Genk as the Blues only picked up a draw against the Belgium
side.

Chelsea have been quick to officially condemn chants about Anton Ferdinand that were sung
persistently by their fans during last night's Champions League tie with Genk in Belgium.
Fans sung 'Anton Ferdinand, you know what you are' repeatedly and with gusto throughout the
night in, let's call it.
Chelsea's winless run continued after the Blues were held to a 1-1 draw with Genk in their Group E
UEFA Champions League clash courtesy of Genk forward Jelle Vossen's strike. After their 5-3
horror-show against Arsenal on Saturday, Chelsea coach Andre Villas Boas was hoping for a positive
reaction from his men but got the [.
