Gatorade, a subsidiary of PepsiCo, has again become an official partner of Milan for the current
season after a deal was signed today. The American company whose product is the result of 45 years
of research and sporting experience will have their logo once labelled on the Milan bench at the
San Siro.

Girls' Soccer Player of the Year University of Virginia Midfielder Morgan Brian has been named to
the roster for the U.S. U-23 Women's National Team training camp being held from Oct. 2-7.
Brian will be battling other top college and WPS players hoping to receive a call-up to the U.

We'll start with USWNT goalie Hope Solo, who has reportedly inked a mult-year deal with Gatorade to
join their stable of spokesman/atheletes. According to the Sports Business Journal, the deal is
estimated to fall in the low six-figure (per year) range.
Hope Solo will join Gatorade's powerful promotional arsenal after signing a multiyear marketing
deal with the beverage company.
As a recently graduated high school senior, attacking center midfielder Morgan Brian already has
career stats that any soccer pro would envy. This past spring season she led her high school,
Fredericka Academy in St. Simons, Georgia, to a 17-2-1 record and a fourth straight Georgia
Independent School Association Class AA state title.

High School Athlete of the Year award at a dinner reception in Los Angeles.

I have a new piece in Slate about the Champions League final and whether we're about to
see the end of Barcelona's magical run of the last few seasons. Of course, no sooner had I ventured
this possibility in a draft than I came down with a sudden, bad case of food poisoning; most of
this was written while I was clinging to the edge of my bed, sustained by nothing but Gatorade and
rice.
For the third year in a row, the Gatorade Wisconsin player of the year for girls soccer is from
the Madison area.
Madison La Follette senior forward Morgan LaPlant claimed the prestigious
honor, following in the footsteps of Waunakee's Taylor Madigan (2009) and Verona's
Alex Melin (2010).
Kenosha Tremper defender David Caban has verbally committed to play for the
University of Wisconsin men's soccer team next season, TopDrawerSoccer.com reported.
Caban, who plays club soccer for the Chicago Fire, is rated as the country's 11th-best recruit
in the Class of 2011 and helped the Fire win the U.
