You may have noticed that some of our footballers have been sporting moustaches recently. This is
not some bizarre tribute to the perfectly groomed Graeme Souness but part of Movember, an annual
campaign to raise awareness and funds for prostate cancer.Danny Fox, Gary Caldwell, Paddy McCourt,
Kris Boyd and Allan McGreggor have already signed up.

POSSIBLY BE A WORSE TEAM LEADER IS IF YOU GAVE US ALL HERPES AND FORFEITED EVERY MATCH!

[It] merely confirms the the long held conviction that, in sport as in many other professions, the
largest conceits are driven by the smallest talents. So said Glenn Gibbons in yesterday's Scotsman.
On this occasion Glenn was talking about Kris Boyd. But how appropriate his sentiment is for one of
Boyd's Old Firm colleagues.

On Wednesday night in London the footballing world was rocked to its core as Croatian striker
Eduardo (if that is even his real name) invented a form of cheating so insidious, yet so innovative
and breathtaking, that many in the stadium, and across the world, were driven to tears by anger,
despair and incomprehension.

by STUART WATSON Most papers lead with previews of tonight's match versus Celtic with a couple
of other stories thrown in about atmosphere at the new ground and Arsene Wenger speaking about the
progress of William Gallas.
The Sun WILLIAM GALLAS has put last seasons ill discipline where he was stripped of the
captaincy behind him.

The fickle ways of football fans have always been a source of much amusement. Love him, hate him,
love him. The average supporter has the same loyalty as a 13 year old girl swapping boybands.Even
with this background though the strange case of Gary Caldwell still astounds.Much criticised for
gaffes, unable to get a regular start in his favoured position.

So Arsenal became the first team to win at Celtic Park in Europe since The Eunuch Fusiliers in
1878. A 2-0 win leaves us in a very good position for the second leg.
Much was made of the famous atmosphere but when the TV cameras panned across the teams as they
lined up on the pitch it was clear it was the home team who looked nervous.

It promised to be an intense match and it certainly was. Celtic came out swinging; Arsenal were
denied space and time on the ball but just as Arsene has said, this group of players can handle the
raucous atmosphere and they applied their skills and determination to good result.
Neither of the goals were pretty but I'll take both of them because it makes the job so much easier
in the second leg at home.

Slick Arsenal put Celtic to the sword
Full Article
The speed and movement of Arsenal hurtled them into the group stage of the Champions League. A
recovery at the Emirates next week is inconceivable for Celtic. Their supporters had relished this
occasion from the moment the draw was made, but it is a sign of the visitors' excellence that it is
now a night to be forgotten.

Okay performance, great result. But how many times over the past few years have we had the exact
opposite, when you've said, "we were the better team, but didn't get the win?" I'll take this over
that any day.
We didn't create as many chances as usual, but give Celtic some credit. They're a good team, and
present a very tough match-up at Parkhead.

A well struck free kick by Fabregas inadvertently hit William Gallas on the back and took a
fortuitous deflection into goal but even if it had not there was an outside chance that the shot
might have been able to evade the hands of Artur Boruc. The second goal was an own goal as an
unfortunate Gary Caldwell diverted a Gael Clichy cross past his own keeper.

It was not pretty but a deflected William Gallas opener and second-half own goal from Gary
Caldwell put Arsenal firmly in the driving seat in this UEFA Champions League play-off tie as the
visitors earned a 2-0 victory against Celtic.
The home team had more than matched Arsène Wenger's side for the best part of 45 minutes in
Glasgow before Gallas deflected Cesc FÃ bregas's free-kick into the net just before the
interval.

Arsenal will take a 2-0 lead to The Emirates after beating Celtic 2-0 at Parkhead.
After an Arshavin effort was ruled out for offside. A wicked William Gallas deflection of his back
from a Fabregas freekick, gave the Gooners the lead, and then a second half Gary Caldwell own goal
doubled their lead, leaving an up-hill task for Celtic in the second leg.

Arsenal beat Celtic 2-0 at Celtic Park, all but assuring their qualification for the Champions
League group stages, with two away goals. It was not the presiding effort of their 6-1 away win
at Everton, but the two deflected goals – from Gallas and Gary Caldwell's foot – fulfilled the
requirement in what was arguably the most important match of the season.

Football can be a cruel sport sometimes and it was certainly cruel tonight under the floodlights
on a warm evening in Glasgow. Two strokes of luck have almost ensured Arsenals progress to the
group stages of the Champions League as they overcame a stubborn Celtic side 2-0.
Celtic had started brightly enough; playing a 4-5-1 they restricted Arsene Wenger's fluid
passing and movement and, while not creating much in the way of chances themselves, they contained
Arsenal as best they could.

We travel to Celtic Park tomorrow for the first leg of our Champions League qualification
fixture. It's a shame that only one of two clubs this size will go through to the Champions League
group stage, but it does result in a mouthwatering tie this early in the year. 40 million pounds
and any CL hopes is on the line, and the fixtures will be played in two of the best atmospheres in
Europe.
