Mrisho Ngassa Scores In World Cup Qualifying

The former trialist with the Sounders helped Tanzania to a 2-1 away win against Chad on the 11th. The second leg is the 15th. The winner advances to the second round a group stage with Ivory Coast, Morocco and Gambia.

Ngassa played as a right winger in the Manchester United friendly and is expected back for 2012 training camp.

Playing the worst team in MLS Colorado continued their lack-luster play, and they got burned by it. What should have been an easy won resulted in the Rapids 5th draw in a row and 6th draw in 7 games.
This game was much like last week's home game against Toronto. Lots of possession by the Rapids in the defensive third but no ability to capitalize on it.

An interesting discussion came up on BigSoccer this week about how the Red Bulls have started a lineup of 11 players from 11 different countries. So I decided to take a look at the Rapids roster to see how close I could come. I can come up with a Rapids lineup of 11 players who have eligibility for 11 different national teams, but one has already passed on it.

The country of Rwanda hosts the CAF African Under-17 Championship from today as eight countries fight it out not only for the continental title but also for one of the four available places in the FIFA Under-17 World Championship which takes place in Mexico this summer.

The African U-17 Championship has existed in its current form since 1995 and takes place every two years.

Defending FIFA U-20 World Cup Champion Ghana (who also won the African U-20 championship in 2009) has been drawn into Group B of the upcoming qualifying tournament along with Nigeria, Gambia and Cameroon. Group A is made up of host Libya, Mali, Egypt and Lesotho.
The CAF U-20 Championship kicks off March 18 and runs through April 1.
