Arsenal lost the match today, but they didn't look too bad. They lined up something like this: Rosicky Eduardo Nasri Ramsey Song Fabregas Traore Vermaelen Gallas Sagna Almunia I love the look of the side with Rosicky in there. I'm a fan of those starting players, as well as
the three subs Carlos Vela, Andre Arshavin, and Theo Walcott. Click to continue reading...
Many are surprised by the play Thierry Henry got away with in the World Cup playoff between
France and Ireland. If you are not aware of the incident, Henry clearly was guilty of an
intentional handball in the box at a critical moment in the second half. France was down a goal
at the time of the non-call and the play resulted in a goal for Gallas and an assist fromÂ
Henry.
Prizes, thats what points mean, and today we are going for the Brucie Bonus
I am still smiling from a comment London made yesterday. The wise man had found out that our
game against Sunderland was being shown live on Italia television and that all we have to do is
find a good Italian bar, sit down with a few beers and watch the game.
On recent evidence, probably not. If you came thinking this was going to be another intense post
after the previous one, I'm afraid it won't. Previewing a Sunderland match just doesn't have the
same amount of appeal as say, previewing, I don't know a match against Newcastle. Whoops. Cross
that out.
Ireland manager Giovanni Trapattoni has vented his fury at FIFA in an interview with
Gazzetta dello Sport. 'I would like to know what have I done to (Sepp) Blatter,' Trapattoni said. 'If he explains it to
me at least I would be calm. 'I often go to schools and speak of fair play.Click to continue reading...
My good friend's wedding is tomorrow so this will be a very early match preview of our trip to
Sunderland. As it has been known for the past few days, RVP and Gibbs both will miss the game after
yet another injury return for an Arsenal player from an international break.
The final international break of the year is over. How good does that sound?
Real football returns tomorrow, and unlike many Premiership weekends, it is Saturday that looks
the tastier of the days. Liverpool and City play each other at lunchtime, United face Everton in
the evening, Chelsea are involved and we have a very tricky trip to Sunderland to negotiate.
"After being assessed by the Arsenal medical staff, the club can confirm that Kieran Gibbs has
sustained severe bruising to the bones and soft tissue of his right foot."
There is no fracture of the metatarsal as feared at first. Gibbs injury is short term and he
should ready to face the highly anticipated Chelsea showdown.
Heartbreaking. That's all I can say about this match. Gut-wrenching, soul-wrenching, the very
best kind of completely awful.
The pivot point of the match – and for the rest of time nothing else will be discussed – was
Henry's unjustly-allowed goal. (Technically it was Gallas', but Henry had more than a hand in
it.
Well, it looks like there is still some sort of fairy dust left in this world. After completing
his treatment in Serbia using the latest craze, placenta treatment, Robin was all smiles after
exiting the clinic. Dr. Kovacevic will have her hands full now that there is a whole host of other
players who would have made her clinic a very pack one.
grandissima impresa. Click to continue reading...
Long, long ago, when the world was still new, there was once an Arsenal blog, written by an
American. It was updated daily with all the latest news, transfer stories, and thoughts on Arsenal.
It was called The ArseNole. And now, The ArseNole is back. That's right, after a shocking absence
of over a month, I've made a return to the blogging realm, since there is finally a lot to talk
about. Click to continue reading...
Last night's dramatic play-off between Ireland and France which ended in disgrace for Thierry Henri
who twice handled the ball in the box to set up Gallas to score a very controversial goal in
extra-time to send Ireland out of the World Cup and France to shamefully through. The FAI have lodged an appeal to FIFA to have the game replayed has fallen on deaf ears. Click to continue reading...

Congratulations FIFA, they've got the World Cup they wanted now haven't they, and I hope their
proud of how they got it. It was a ridiculous decision to seed the World Cup play-offs in the first
place, and ultimately prevent the the hard-work in qualifying of teams like Ukraine, Bosnia and of
course the Republic of Ireland.

Arsenal defender William Gallas insists he did not see France teammate Thierry Henry handle the
ball ahead of him poking home France's equaliser against the Republic of Ireland. Barcelona striker Henry clearly handled the ball before setting up his former Arsenal team-mate
William Gallas to head Les Bleus into the finals in South Africa next summer. Click to continue reading...
If you're only going to have 5 players play well, make sure they include at least three
defenders and the goalkeeper. I'm writing in a vacuum I did have the Setanta commentator who
rightly pointed out how poor France were, but I have to say that I thought France were
shocking.
Good performances: Sagna, Evra, Gallas, Lloris, Anelka Poor: Henry, A.
Thierry Henry clearly handled Florent Malouda's delivery and then picked out Gallas in front of
goal, who drove home the equalizer in extra time. The referee Martin Hansson and his assistant did
not see the infraction.
The goal nullified Robbie Keane's 32nd minute opener. And cruelly snuffed out Ireland's
chances.
Well, I would be if I were one of those players having to play tonight and some nutter came
sliding in towards me with a hard tackle in mind! We cannot afford any more injuries and the loss
of any of the players mentioned below would be just awful. It doesn't even bare thinking about!
Even Sir Bobby Pires is concerned for us, but still believes we have enough strength and depth
to get through this tough time.
Gibbs limped off with an ankle injury after a 12st minute tackle forced him out of the U21 Euro
match against Lithuania. He is to undergo an X ray as a precautionary measure and more information
on the extent of his injury will be available later this week.
With Gael Clichy out for a month with a back injury, the left back position was a lock for
Gibbs.
OMG I'm so ill again :'( this is not even funny...had to come home from work and I'm wobbling
like I've had another three bottles of vodka..another sick line and another week of work while I
wait for a hospital appointment. If I'm going to appear to others as if I'm plastered I would at
least like the enjoyment of being so.
At Asburton Grove Medical Centre, there are people who like to make optimistic statements. Then
there are the players themselves who always think that they can come back sooner than they are
actually able. Van Persie and the AGMC reckon he will be back in around six weeks. At Arsenal, that
means anything this side of next christmas. Click to continue reading...
On a horrible wet and windy morning many fans might be glad that they are staying home this
afternoon instead of having to travel to football, so maybe this break has come at the right time
for once? No – ok, just trying to cheer up the grumpy ones who are missing their footie fix.
Look on the bright side, England play Brazil, so that could be a good game to watch,
alternatively there is the France v ROI play off, first leg – difficult choice?
Hello again. First things first, I apologize if you've been checking in and find that there's no
new post or update on the blog (Who am I kidding?, I wonder how many do actually follow my
postings?) But if you have, then the only reason I can give is that there is really nothing to
update. The international break is really sucking the life out of football bloggers.
This happened a couple of days ago, but, you know...(shrugs). 15 Arsenal players have been
called up for duty over the international break. The entire list can be found here.
Of the 15, only 5 Diaby, Gallas, and Sagna for France, Arshavin for Russia, and Song for
Cameroon are playing in meaningful senior international matches, as all of their nations are trying
to qualify for the World Cup.
Forgive my prolonged absence. It is absolutely unpardonable, though fact is that the average
arsefan has had so much more than just my small space to keep them entertained over the past couple
of weeks which have been fantastic. The Arsenal has posted its Q1 results and they have been
emphatic.
This is what happen last time we have Wolves in the EPL
Arsenal visit Molineux Stadium tonight and it's a good oppourtunity to continue the good run
that we are currently going through. This is no walk in the park for Arsenal as both Fulham and
Aston Villa have came and gone home with only a point.
I have to say I'm quite liking Arsenal's current situation; the team is playign really well
and everyone off the bench also fits in exceptionally, which is great and the first time I
believe this in a while! To add to this the media are not rating us this may be a bit downÂ
heartening for the players but there is currently no pressure on them, unlike Chelsea Man Utd
and Liverpool.
With such blistering pace at just 4.5M, I'd have a silly grin on my face
too Our Funny Feeling Friday this week is Arsenal's left back Kieran Gibbs.
With starting left back Gael Clichy out for a month or more with a stress fracture in his lower
back, Gibbs should take over the starting spot and comes with the price tag (4. Click to continue reading...
