Could Kolo Toure be on his way back to Arsenal on a one year deal? by SS
He is going to be out of contract this summer and he and Manchester City have confirmed that there will be no new deal. He has said he would like to stay in England because his family is based here and he could be available on low wages compared to his Man City pay packet.
Every time Arsenal face Tottenham, we have stories hitting the press from their players or back room staff, claiming that Arsenal's time is up and the Spuds are about to become a top three or four club. Yesterday it was the motormouth, William Gallas, and today the assistant manager Steffen Freund is putting his case forward.
The league leaders faced a big test on Saturday as they traveled north to face cross-city rivals Tottenham in what was anticipated as the showcase match of the weekend. Much was made of Andre Villas-Boas and his desire to seek revenge on the club that let him go just eight months into his tenure. Chelsea, with a super-classy midfield trio featuring Oscar, Mata, and Hazard, have consistently shown this season why they are proving to be the team to beat.
Down to the final rankings predicted by myself and a few surprises which I'm sure you'll have
something to moan about. Sorry Spurs, I see bad times on the horizon at White Hart Lane, good times
over in Scouseland and very good times for the Chelsea and Man City again.
8Â Tottenham AVB has come in over the summer and to moi, it's a case of out of
the Stamford Bridge frying pan into the White Hart Lane fryer.
People, People, People, The board do not play on the pitch, the professional players do. by
ElaMyFriend Bear in mind that not too long ago, we had players like Adebayor, Fabergas, Toure,
Clinchy, Gallas, Nasri, Benther and van Persie and maybe Song if he leaves. They have competed for
Carling Cup, FA Cup, Premier League [.
Roberto Di Matteo has been another inspired decision by Roman Abramovich. The perceptive Italian
has managed to solve the old and new divide within the Chelsea squad. There is finally a distinct
feeling of squad harmony not seen since the happy times of Mourinho. Winning matches usually helps,
but more importantly, man management is the key.
Well, it makes a nice headline, but don't get too excited about it.
This is one score line that we would much rather be on the other side of – and it goes a long
way to explaining the relative fortunes of the two North London clubs this year.
It's the score in long term injuries to important players.
One of the criticisms of Spurs, particularly earlier in the season was directed at our inability to hold on to a lead. With the side sitting back and trying to absorb pressure, Tottenham's defence conceded many, costly late goals and this issue came to a head in December when 1-0 at Everton turned into 1-2 in the dying minutes.
Prior to Tottenham's narrow 1-0 win over Swansea in December, the club were notorious for conceding late goals, most notably in the previous fixture when the side let in two late strikes at Everton in a 2-1 defeat.
Since the Swansea game however, the defence seems to have a tougher edge and Tottenham have recently recorded some late, late goals of their own against Manchester United and also against Lyon last night.
Tottenham seemed far more effective at keeping Swansea away from the penalty box on Sunday and it was clear that the team had taken a different approach to defending a late lead. Last gasp goals have been costing us all season and while we remained nervous, it all seemed much calmer on the pitch than it did at Everton seven days ago.
The lucky blighters of mid-80s Los Angeles had the A-Team, the ungrateful denizens of Gotham
City had a giant man-bat with a handy penchant for pugilism, but when we have a problem with which
no-one else can help the slightly alarming solution being wheeled out onto the Wembley turf is the
creaking-limbed combo of Nelsen and Gallas.
Just the one Aaron Lennon – he holds the bulb and the universe revolves around him, n'est ce
pas? Not to cast aspersions on the young blighter's character you understand, he seems a most
charming young fish (now with added maturity – witness the disappearance of his go-faster
diagonals in his eyebrows).
Have you ever wished you could go back in time and stop yourself from saying something that made you look like a complete idiot? So has the Tottenham defender William Gallas. The Frenchman made a right tit of himself this week by denouncing Arsenal and Arsene Wenger for not bothering about the Capital One cup, while praising the winning mentality of his current team and manager at Tottenham.
Even after all these years, you do wonder. Is it just us that so totally dominates one half then disappears so completely in the second? Or can other teams perform the Halloween Jekyll and Hyde routine?Spurseased past all Southampton resistance in the first half, playing some gorgeous flowing football in the process buthalfway through the secondperiod we were wobbling like a Weeble on speed.

With the summer dilated to 6cm and the 2012/13 Premier League season beginning to crown, we
thought we'd have a timely look forward at the new boys we're eager to see in action proper come
August...
1. Gylfi Sigurdsson, Tottenham - Siggy played for Spurs, jammin' good with Bale
and Gallas and the Spiders from Mars.
Perhaps worse even than the sight of talismanic striker and captain playing in the red of
Manchester United, is the fact that our long-standing rival Ferguson felt he could make a bid at
all. If it wasn't already pretty clear, it is now official: we are not the rivals we used to
be.
It almost seems silly to say, as we have barely challenged the Old Trafford club in the last
seven years, but there remained the faint, if dimming, hope that we would work our way back to the
big time eventually and win some trophies at their expense.
Levy, Please Don't Sign These Players For Tottenham - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
For a club that won't be in the Champions League next season, which may struggle to keep its
best players and currently is unsure over who will be the manager when the 2012/2013 season kicks
off in August, Tottenham have been linked with an impressive calibre of
player.
After another disappointing performance and outcome for Tottenham Hotspur Ciaran Griggs
steps up to give THFC1882 his report and thoughts.
Sigh. We can't go on like this.
Spurs continued their alarming run of form with a dismal 1-0 defeat to QPR. Coming into the
match, Spurs were expected to arrest their slide against one of the Premier League's new boys.
I think it would be fair to say if you were to ask most people to people look back at what has
set this Premier League season apart from others the answer you'd get would have to be:
high-scoring games. For a slightly more pessimistic view: bad defending.
It is in the big games where this has been most noticeable.
The funny thing about yesterday's Semi-Final is the talk afterwards of Chelsea being the better
team so the silly decisions didn't ultimately matter.
I find that really odd: in the first half Spurs were at least as good, if not better, and until
Drogba's wallop probably shaded the half on points (I was reading the papers at the same time as
watching but I think I got the gist of things).

You will wake up this morning and read the focus on the controversial second Chelsea goal yesterday
at Wembley but do not let that detract from a fantastic Chelsea performance and result that sees us
score five and set up a date with Liverpool on May 5th in the final!.
I said before the game that in this one it was literally all or nothing, explained
how I saw weaknesses in Tottenham's formations with huge gaps between their defence and
midfield that could be exposed and stated that Chelsea have the big game
experience in our squad which could be key to getting the right result!
Here we go people, the start of four massive games in the space of two weeks with tonight's trip to
one of our favourite places in recent times to take on a deflated and off form Tottenham at
Wembley.
If this game was happening two months ago I would have told you that we would of had no chance to
win this.
Many eyebrows were raised when Blackburn's Ryan Nelsen joined Spurs on the final day of the
January transfer window and with an already ageing and / or injury prone central defence it was
hardly the acquisition to appease a section of Tottenham fans who were looking at a Vertonghen
style signing.
Yesterday was a day I won't forget in a hurry, in my office working I flicked up the BBC Website
to check the score and see whether it was worth watching the second half, it was 1-1 Bale had
scored an own goal, I smiled and decided to listen to it live on the radio.
Seconds after I heard David Pleat say that Muamba had gone down with no one around him and both
Modric and Gallas called on the medical teams immediately and were showing concern.

Around a year ago, Spurs were fielding their only two fit centre halves and I wrote on here
suggesting that the club might have pre-empted this by bringing in some defensive reinforcements in
the January 2011 transfer window. Tottenham had signed a centre half back then – Bongani Khumalo
who has been seen on the subs bench a few times but 12 months ago the situation at the back was
grim.
So the Premier League season is finally here, it's Tottenham Hotspur's opening game versus
Everton..........
That's how the preview for this one should have started, but the unfortunate and unseemlyÂ
rioting of early August put paid to Spurs opening fixture. Now this is the game in hand it's vital
that Spurs get maximum points if they want to be taken seriously as title challengers.
It wasn't pretty. On a cold December Sunday afternoon, Tottenham Hotspur saw off a resilient
Sunderland to record a 1-0 victory and get back to winning ways in the Premier League.
Winning ugly is the sign of champions. Not getting carried away here, I'm not suggesting Spurs
are going to win the title, there's a chance of it, but Manchester City are a scarily good outfit
and their neighbours are impossible to write off.
As I touched on in my article last week: with Robin van Persie surely set to leave Arsenal this
summer, the club is about to face yet another change in captaincy, with the Dutch striker having
only replaced Cesc Fabregas as skipper a year ago.
I suggested Bacary Sagna as a replacement in my last piece (that will not be the focus today),
but whoever gets the armband next will be the fifth different captain we've had since we last won a
trophy.
Although the claims that Ledley King is something of a ‘lucky charm' may be slightly
exaggerated, it's no co-incidence that his return to the side has seen Spurs climb the league table
and into their current third place.
The chronic problems that prevent our club captain from training and lead to frequent absences
are well documented but the importance of Thursday night's game could see him take the field in a
midweek match for the first time in over a year.
Injuries and suspension at the centre of defence could force Harry Redknapp to bring back Ledley
King for Sunday's game against Martin O'Neill's side. Harry reports that Ledley is struggling but
we've been in this position before where the club captain makes an unexpected return to the line
up.
With so many hamstring injuries at the Lane this week the team for tonight virtually picks
itself. The big news once again is with Rafael van der Vaart whose scan seemed to give the Dutchman
the green light to return to the starting XI.
Before the game, Harry spoke about VDV and gave some news about other recent injury victims.
A nervy first half that saw Lennon removed with injury. With Modric drifting away from the left and
VDV sure to drift away from the right, I was worried we'd have no width. We didn't, we missed it,
but Pav gave us the lead and King, Gallas, Sandro and Friedel kept it for us.
The Tottenham (and ex-Arsenal) defender William Gallas is convinced that Tottenham can win the race for fourth place in the Premiership this season and thinks that the brilliant away win at Manchester United has given Villas-Boas' side the belief that they can take all three points away from the Emirates next Saturday.
Our friends at 3NIL are back, and this time they're paying homage to two of the world's most

feeling of calm has overcome me since the fifth goal went in on Sunday. Even Mrs.JimmyG2 remarked
how well I was taking it. But that's because I have given it up. The season that is not Spurs. THFC
