According to a report in the Madrid newspaper El Pais, Maradona has a business
relationship with Gabriel Heinze's brother who owns a marketing business that promotes sporting
events and represents sports figures.

If Week 14 of the 2009/10 Ligue 1 season took a little while to warm up in terms of 'goals scored',
it was well and truly ablaze by the time it ended.
And end it did with the most dramatic game seen in the French top flight for many a long year. Lyon
and Marseille faced each other having gained important UEFA Champions League results last week (a
1-1 draw for Lyon over Liverpool and a 6-0 thrashing by Marseille over FC Zurich) while looking to
keep pace with Bordeaux at the top of the Ligue 1 table.

Argentines Abroad is delayed slightly this week by the Monday night fixture bumping the normal
domestic coverage a day on, and the fact I've been writing an article for another site (more of
which later in the week). That's useful in some ways because the Copa del Rey in Spain has ensured
there's action to [.

For Europe, South America and the CONCACAF region, yesterday saw the last chance for teams to grab
an automatic qualifying place for the 2010 World Cup. It was also the last chance for some teams to
claim a 'Get Out Of Jail Free' card - or a play-off place, as it's known in football circles.
Here's our round-up of all the important news from each of those regions.

It's been a qualifying campaign no-one who followed it from start to finish will ever quite manage
to forget, but eventually, somehow, in spite of their manager, their opponents and let's face it
their own often atrocious performances, Argentina have qualified for the 2010 World Cup in South
Africa.

The moment of truth arrives tonight. At 8pm local time (7pm in Argentina; 11pm British Summer Time)
Argentina will take to the pitch in the Estadio Centenario, the site of the first ever World Cup
final back in 1930. They need a result against their oldest rivals to secure qualification for
South Africa 2010.

Not I. Oh, heavens no. The heavens opened over the Estadio Monumental on Saturday night and, in a
frantic finish, a substitute chosen by D10s himself scored the winning goal to keep Argentina just
on track for qualification to South Africa 2010. MartÃn Palermo has waited ten years for the
chance to atone [.

Argentina will have yet another different lineup today.

Argentina's practice session on Wednesday produced a possibly glimpse into the mind of Diego
Maradona. Although a frightening place in which Jonás Gutiérrez is worthy of a place in the team
at right back, there were also one or two more lucid thoughts flitting about. In a kickabout
against Sergio Batista's Under 17 side, this [.

heartening that some of them have had more auspicious weekends than Carlos Tevez, who [.

Tuesday and Wednesday brought about Match Day 2 in the UEFA Champions League, and the four
representatives from Spain had interesting ties that helped shape their respective groups. On
Tuesday, Sevilla FC visited Rangers FC at the Ibrox Stadium, where the European night atmosphere is
second to none, buoying their beloved Gers, and FC Barcelona hosted FK Dynamo Kyiv at the Camp Nou,
where both teams headed into this clash with undefeated records in both league and in Europe.

Real Madrid spent plenty of money in the summer to rejuvenate their faltering team. After
falling way short of eventual Spanish and European Champions Barcelona last season Los Merengues
forked out huge transfer fees on the likes of Ballon d'Or winners Cristiano Ronaldo and Kaka, while
Karim Benzema and Xabi Alonso also completed big moves to the Spanish capital.

Diego Maradona has announced a list of just eighteen Europe-based players for Argentina's final two
World Cup qualifying matches at home to Peru and away to Uruguay. There are numerous big-name
casualties of Diego's refusal to consider that any part of the defeats to Brazil and Paraguay might
have been his fault.

Fox Soccer's coverage of the Champions League games is something to behold. No longer are we
tied to ESPN's choice of which game we are allowed to watch. 10 of this week's 16 matches are
available either live or on a delay. That is unbelievable, and a massive step forward.
It poured rain throughout the game in Marseille on Tuesday, and Milan's white Champions League
kits do not have a sponsor.
