For Gabriel Gomez, a new opportunity may have already popped up in a familiar place. Gomez was one of the three Philadelphia Union casualties in today's Waiver Draft, as the team released him, Porfirio Lopez and Krystian Witkowski prior to 3:30 pm EDT.
Three players will not return to the Philadelphia Union in 2013, as the team parted ways with Gabriel Gomez, Porfirio Lopez and Krystian Witkowski. All three will be available in this afternoon's Major League Soccer Waiver Draft, which will happen at 3:30 EDT.
Of the three who will not come back, Gomez was the most notable release.
A Union spokesperson tells PSP that Carlos Valdes will not be playing for Independiente Sante Fe in the offseason. Also, Gabriel Gomez is not training with another team through any arrangement made through the Union.

We are just moments away from the first (of many) draft of the offseason. While the Houston Dynamo and LA Galaxy are getting ready for the MLS Cup, the rest of the league is releasing players left and right today. There is a waiver draft this afternoon and the list of players is fairly long.
