The 2009 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year award was far from an easy one to vote for, with the only
clear aspect of the voting being that it should probably go to a keeper from the Western
Conference.
Kasey Keller looked like he might run away with the award early in the season, but neither he or

What did the Bulls really need after being upset by West Virginia on Friday night in a Big East
Conference match? How about a date with the Big East whipping boys Pittsburgh Panthers (1-8-0)?
Perfect.
South Florida (6-1-1) pushed the attack against Pitt, out shooting them 19-10. The Bulls were
rewarded at the quarter hour mark when Andre Mittoo scored his first goal of the season.

The Spartans (4-5-1) ended a three game losing streak on Sunday with a 1-0 victory over Georgia
College (5-4-1). The match was the fifth game of a tough six game road trip for UT. The Spartans
won the first match, but then proceeded to loose three straight, before yesterday's win in
Savannah.
Tampa out shot the Bobcats 17-7, but ultimately were only able to get one into the net.

After suffering their first defeat of the season to West Virginia on Friday night, South Florida
(5-1-1) will try to rebound this afternoon against the lowly University of Pittsburgh (1-7-0). Pitt

The UT men (5-0-1) came out on top in their Sunshine State Conference debut over Barry University
(3-3-1) on Saturday in front of a crowd of 451. The 2-1 result preserved an unbeaten record for the
Spartans.
Freshman Brian Fekete scored his first career goal right before halftime in the forty-third minute
to give UT a 1-0 lead going into the break.

Columbus State University (6-0-1) scored two first half goals and then a third in the second half,
to defeat UT 3-0. The Spartans (3-4-1) fell to their second straight nationally ranked opponent on
Sunday.
UT was out shot 10-5 in the match and only managed to get one of their shots on the Cougar goal.

performances.
South Florida's junior goalkeeper, Jeff Attinella, was named the Big East Conference goalkeeper of
the week based on his two shutouts last week. The 1-0 wins against Valparaiso and Virginia Tech
have paced the Bulls to a perfect 4-0-0 start.

Jeff Attinella posted his third consecutive shutout in the Bulls net to boost South Florida to a
4-0-0 record in a game where both schools could only muster seven shots apiece. Attinella now has a
stingy 0.25 GAA for the season.
