When you consider the amount of hot air, high fashion, alcohol and misbehaviour that generally
occurs when awards are dished out, you'd think we'd have a staff member whose only job is to sniff
out those nominations.
Well, we don't.
Generally, if we learn we've been nominated it's too late and even if we win, we're too
disorganised to go to the ceremony.
Manchester City have suspended Carlos Tevez after it was alleged he refused to appear as a
substitute in the 2-0 defeat by Bayern Munich.
Tevez who said the dispute was a "misunderstanding", is suspended until further notice for a
maximum of two weeks while the club investigate.
A statement on the Man City web site said:
"Manchester City can confirm that striker Carlos Tevez has been suspended until further notice
