If you believe what you hear - and what you saw against Fulham - you'll probably believe the wolves
are at the door for Señor Benitez. However, I'll try to put things in perspective without using an
array of cringe-worthy Halloween puns.
What happened against Fulham was a disaster, and a game we shouldn't have lost going into.

Benfica handed
Everton another painful lesson at Goodison Park. The two-goal margin
of victory could actually have been larger, the Portuguese side missing several chances to increase
the embarrassment for Moyes's men. In the event, Benfica settled for two second half goals, one
from Saviola and one from Cardozo.

Just when Rafa Benitez thought things couldn't get any worse, a study published by Foster's
today reveals the Liverpool manager is officially one of the most worried managers in the
Premiership.
The leading Aussie beer brand analysed the interviews and statements from every Premiership
manager since the beginning of the season using its Ozometer, an algorithm developed specifically
to analyse language and word sequences to determine how worried or carefree a person is.

*Even ardent Italophobes sometimes have to doff their cap to La Dolce Vita. The Stadio Olimpico was
so sparsely attended for tonight's Roma v Fulham clash, that despite being a veggie, I thought
about eating Saltimbocca alla Romana in honour of the stayaway fans. When they consider a game
meaningless, Italian tifosi vote with their feet.

Conspiracy theories don't usually do it for me, but tonight's farce is enough to make me pause
for thought. If Jack Warner can retain a high ranking position in FIFA than nothing in football
is impossible; could it be that UEFA, frightened by Roma's poor start to the campaign and desperate
to show off their new Europa League, have issued a far reaching anti-non-famous club mandate?

joy. When injuries to Carlton Cole and Hérita Ilunga were followed by a freakish equaliser for
Aston Villa, the scene seemed set for yet another promising performance to end in another
disappointing result.

When Robin Van Persie scored Arsenal's third in the North London derby against Spurs, it
prompted me to draw comparisons with the Real Madrid legend Raul. He has scored seven goals in the
league and been given the role of the top of the Gunners attack. He has previously been compared to
Dennis Bergkamp who was a genius at linking up attacks with the rest of his teammates.

In my NyQuil haze, I screwed up the math. Through some combination of the time change (which
happens earlier in England than in the States) and me sleeping through my usual routine of checking
multiple sites to figure out the kickoff, I was an hour off. As I slumped into the pub, sucking on
a cough drop, I still thought I was early enough to grab a seat and some pre-match breakfast, but I
found a room full of sullen Liverpool supporters and a match well underway.
