Midfielder has ‘no regrets’ about leaving Arsenal: Will the Gunners struggle without him this season?

1
A 3-0 win against Newcastle seems to have restored the confidence of Arsenal fans in their team. The previous week, the Gunners had lost 1-0 at Fulham, prompting supporters to question why Arsene Wenger hadn't plugged the gaps in midfield that had been left by Alexander Hleb and Mathieu Flamini, ... From Gravesend to England for Jimmy Bullard

1
The Fulham midfield player is widely regarded as the Barclays Premier League's court jester, a likeable individual whose infectious sense of fun is best demonstrated by the occasion when he treated the Real Madrid squad to an impromptu performance of Old MacDonald Had a Farm during a chance encounter in the bar of an Austrian hotel during a pre-season tour. So, the transfer deadline (August 31) has passed and the football market is now closed. Closed? Not quite. Jimmy Bullard - England saviour?

1
Watching England press conferences is a wonderful way of invoking a spooky sense of deja vu. The players sit looking like they would rather be somewhere else, going through the motions of rolling out the same old meaningless clichés, and generally leave it to their journalistic opposition to take the initiative. Oguchi Onyewu article in Sports Illustrated

Here is a link to a great article by Greg Lalas from Sports Illustrated about Oguchi Onyewu's success with Standard Liege in the Belgian League, and also the rumors that have surfaced about a move to a bigger club. I have always been very impressed with "Gooch" and felt that he would turn into a top class defender. Click to continue reading...

Bob Bradley compared to Bruce Arena

3
Here is an excellent article from Kartik Krishnaiyer on the MLS Talk blog that goes through the differences between the managing styles of Bruce Arena and Bob Bradley, and also provides some interesting thoughts on the recent callups that Bob Bradley has made for the U.S. National Team. For the most part, I agree with Kartik's column, but I disagree with the comments he made about Clint Dempsey. Click to continue reading...

Jimmy Bullard: From House Painter to England International

2
International football has its share of Cinderella stories, and the heartbeat of Fulham's midfield, Jimmy Bullard, is no exception.

The transfer window has officially closed, and several last minute deals went through involving Premier League Clubs. The most notable transfer involved Dimitar Berbatov finally moving from Tottenham to Manchester United, a deal that was in doubt when Spurs accepted a bid from Manchester City.
