The Rapids choked away a chance at their best season ever with a 7 game winless streak culminating
in the embarrassing 3-0 loss to FaKe SaLt Lake Saturday night. They finish in a tie for the last
playoff spot but lose the tibreakers, missing the playoffs for a 3rd straight year. 2 years in a
row they've missed the playoffs by a point.

Colorado is in with:
- a win
- a draw and only one of DC, FCD, NE, and TFC winning
- a loss by 1, FCD draws or loses, and 2 of DC, NE, and TFC losing
- a loss by 2, FCD draws or loses, and DC, NE, and TFC losing
They also get in by finishing top 2 in the following tiebreakers (with the teams from the
FCD/DC/NE/TFC group not involved losing)
- Colorado-DC-FSL
- Colorado-NE-FSL
- Colorado-DC-FSL-NE
- Colorado-Dallas-DC-FSL
- Colorado-Dallas-DC-FSL-TFC
Or losing to FSL by only 1 goal gets them in through this tiebreaker:

It's that time of year again, when we run the numbers and figure out what result can clinch us a
playoff spot when. The Rapids can clinch as early as this weekend if they win, depending on two
other results.
If the Rapids beat Dallas:
FSL must not beat Toronto
OR
New England must not beat Chicago
If the Rapids draw or lose to Dallas they can not clinch this weekend.

Colorado Rapids - Colorado's draw with San Jose kept them in a tie with Chivas for 4th in the West
and 6th overall. Colorado still has a game in hand over most of the teams in front of them, but
Chivas and New England are lurking right behind them with a game in hand over the Rapids. Colorado
is tied with DC for the 2nd best offense (2 behind Dallas) and tied with FSL and Chicago for the
6th best defense with 5 games to play.

Yeah, I missed last week. Since most teams were off over the weekend for the World Cup Qualifiers
I'm not that far behind though.
Colorado Rapids - With their back to back home 1-0 wins the Rapids have given themselves a bit of
breathing room. They are third in the West and tired for 5th overall with DC.

Colorado Rapids - With their defensive self-destruction on Saturday the Rapids have fallen to 5th
in the West and in a 3 way tie with Toronto and New England for 7th in the league. If the playoffs
started today they would claim the final playoff spot ahead of Toronto. They are tied with Columbus
and DC for the best offense in the league but tied with FSL and Chicago for the 7th worst defense.

Colorado Rapids - With the demolishing of Chivas USA the Rapids moved up to 3rd int he West, just a
point from the automatic playoff spot in 2nd and 8 points behind leading Houston (who has played
two more games). They are 5th overall in the league, which would clinch a Superliga spot at minimum
(assuming the competition runs next year).

The Weekend Roundup is back early because QoS got an early start to the season with Cup games the
last two weekends
Colorado Rapids - After the loss to Columbus, Colorado has fallen into a tie with Chivas for 4th
place in the West and with Toronto for 7th place overall. Due to the games in hand the Rapids have
the edge over Toronto and DC for the next-to-last playoff spot.

For the first time all season the Rapids put it together for 90 minutes. This resulted in complete
domination of he FaKe team from the West side of the Rockies and a 2-0 win for the good guys.
Gary Smith made two changes to his starting lineup from the last couple of games. Matt Pickens
reclaimed the starting position in the net and Mehdi Ballouchy was (finally) benched in favor of
Nick LaBrocca.

After 72 hours off the Rapids and Galaxy faced off again at the HDC, with the same result. The game
itself was a bit different though. Neither side fielded a full-strength lineup, and both teams
seemed to sit back for a while. Then int he 36th minute Greg Dalby was sent off for a dangerous
tackle and the Rapids were playing a man down.

The Rapids and Galaxy get to do it all over again. Tonight the Rapids face the Galaxy again at the
Toolbox, this time in a U.S. Open Cup play-in game. The loser is out of the USOC, the winner gets
to play the winner of the Seattle-FSL matchup, with the winner of that match getting into the USOC
proper.

Keepin' It Real has made another attempt to trash talk before tomorrow's game. I'll give them
credit for improving from their first attempt, but still pretty weak. The statement that
"Statistically speaking, they should have won something/anything just by sheer dumb luck of
the draw" might have meant more if a quarter of the league hadn't failed to win something in
that time.
