Didja like what you've seen so far? If you answered "no" then it probably won't get much better
than that. In this package of brilliance, you will find the inaction shots of Milos Kocic,
2010-workhorse-2011-goat Dan Gargan and the biggest endorsement 'miss' going of the
not-yet-Harvey's sponsored Torsten Frings.
Easily in the Top 250 MLS English leftback specialty tees - order now!SNIP, SNIPSo confident in the make-up of their first team for 2012, TFC management have taken the unusual
step of pre-announcing oncoming cuts. For Reds supporters this is like being in some kind of
training camp Twilight Zone.
Right colour, wrong shirtIt's a Chile afternoon in Toronto! Great news for TFC
supporters and pun-lovers alike as The Reds officially announced the signing of Chilean
international defender Miguel Aceval today. The announcement concludes a signing-process that has
been rumoured since December but spent the last few days floating around MLS red-tape limbo.
Monty Hall... a proud father"
The boys are back in tow-owu-wow-own!" Oh,
sing it yourself then. It's true though - like well-paid groundhogs in shorts, our beloved Reds are
making their annual late-winter appearance! And guess what? Spring is coming early! (March 7th at
SkyDome - operators are standing by) It's always fun to see old faces return and new faces emerge
(except on defence where we are apparently in tip-top shape) and catch up on all the news and
gossip from a long off-season.
"Wow Jimmy, looks great! Now get it to Anselmi - Chop! Chop!"That's it - the
holidays are over. Take down the lights, put the tree in a chipper and tell the Mayans to bugger
off. Nothing but months of sleet, cold and snow to look forward to now... unless you're a TFC
supporter! Like a Dutch groundhog, Bob de Klerk has seen his shadow and it's under four weeks until
The Reds' return for pre-season.
Happy Boxing Day!Boxing Day... not only the one day of the year that Maxim Usanov
celebrates his hero, Soviet-era pugilist Ivan Drago, but the day where you look at all of your
Christmas gifts and ask your loved ones... "do you still have the receipt?" It's not always quite
as easy as gently hinting that the new Cosby sweater your dear Aunt Nora gave you "isn't quite you"
though.
Welcome to "The Gents" with Stan Bentley - The Yorkies' regular advice

valued voice - a 1950's journeyman footballer. "Back of the net!" Dear Mr.
"Oooh your manbag is so moody - it must be a Laurent Robert!"Autumn is a time of
transition. Where the once promising blooms of spring must wither and make way for Winter
(
Lazio 1992-1996) and the eventual dawn of a new re-birth. Oh, the circle of life - love
it when this blog goes all Robert Frost.
"Tick-tock, The Reds won't stop"Over the last few years MLSE has marketed their
seasons with cute little taglines, often incorporating the season's numerical value within it. For
example -
"fOUR Season" and
"Season fIVe" have been used over the last few years.
Here at The Yorkies we have already branded next season as "SIXual Healing" of course, but that
didn't stop the boffins on Bay Street from trying out a few of their own for TFC's sixth kick at
the can.
Down we go to BMO Field for season closer number 5. It qualifies, before the first ball is kicked,
as bittersweet. The win in Dallas on Tuesday night puts TFC past the group stage of the Champion's
League for the first time next spring. They showed that the team can rise to the occasion and win a
big game on the road has to be sweetest point of the year.

CHESTER, Pa. - It wasn't pretty, and it certainly wasn't impressive. But it was good enough, at
least for now.
Behind a goal from Sebastien Le Toux, the Philadelphia Union tied Toronto FC, 1-1, in front of a
record crowd at PPL Park.
Duncan Fletcher of Waking the Red, SB Nation's Toronto blog, and I
chatted ahead of this afternoon's Union-TFC match.
tBG: How about yourself, what do you think the game will be like?
WtR: Though we should be looking to Tuesday's CCL game, a part of that is the fact that
we've had two weeks off, so I'd expect to have the first team out there to shake the rust off and
practice.
Setting: Saturday, October 15 at PPL Park in Chester; kickoff
scheduled for 4:08:00 PM Eastern
Broadcast Information: Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia (JP
Dellacamera, Taylor Twellman, Marc Zumoff), with coverage beginning at 3:30 PM Eastern with a

Toronto's Last Match: T, 1-1 vs.
It was another beautiful September night at BMO Field Tuesday evening. As a fan, I got much more
than I bargained for. The team showed some spine and some sparkle against a Mexican team that had
ripped them to shreds in the first half of their south of the border (x2) game in the CONCACAF
Champion's League.
Colorado Rapids have lost four straight meetings at BMO Field when playing Toronto FC and added
a fifth one by losing 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.
It was the stellar Dutch striker, Danny Koevermans that piled on more misery for the Colorado
Rapids. Toronto FC's Designated Player showcased an impressive second half brace, scoring six goals
total in seven league appearances for the club.

A victory is a victory and each should be valued. At least that is what I have beentrying to tell
myself on the drive home. They have been rare enough in 2011, aseason where TFC have played 26
games to reach the plateau of 4 victories.Somehow plateau does not seem like the right word.
Perhaps it should be 26games to reach the doorstep of 4 victories.
The German Bundesliga kicks off MatchDay One of its 2011-2012 campaign Friday with a matchup
between reigning champions Borussia Dortmund and Hamburger SV. With former German international
Jurgen Klinsmann taking over the reins of the USMNT after Coach Bob Bradley was dismissed, and
Bundesliga players Torsten Frings and Frank Rost joining MLS clubs in recent weeks, it's time to
look at the league where all these players starred, and where Klinsmann coached Bayern Munich
after taking the German national team to a 3rd place finish in the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
"You new here? It's ok, so is everyone else"And then there was one. Of all the players brought in under Preki, only Ty Harden (I know!) is
still standing. The "TFC Transfer Window Wacky Funtime Hour" has continued today (official
announcement) as club "captain" Maicon Santos was shipped to FC Dallas for former Generation Adidas
attacking midfielder Eric Avila.
First meaningful (non-friendly) home game since the bitter 3-2 loss to the Seattle Sounders.
Luckily it's against a still struggling Toronto FC side, despite bringing on two designated players
earlier this month. Then again the last time the Timbers won at home was back in May against the
Columbus Crew.
Toronto has had this unlikeable habit of playing for a few minutes, digging a giant hole then
trying to claw out of said hole. While Sporting KC Lisbon Wizard Comets was an amusing exercise in
drama, it's preferred to just play the whole game properly.
Real Estelí has nothing to lose here.
What was that? This team just can't get it right. Even when they have a game under control and
should be playing out a 2-0 victory, they find a way to mess it up. To be more precise, keeper
Kocic found a way to come out for a loose ball and flub it. He left the RE shocked striker with the
ball at his feet and nothing but net to hit.
I do not know what to make of this team in recent days. Kansas City scoring three in the first half
seemed to be part of a continued collapse. I think Luke Wileman shared the stat that Toronto FC had
already reached the 2010 goals against level with three months left to play. That is a shaky first
half to the season summed up in one statistic.
Aye! Aye! Aye! El Tren del Norte!TORONTO FC VS. REAL ESTELI FCCONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE - PRELIMINARY - 1ST LEG BMO FIELD - WEDNESDAY 8PM ETTV: SETANTA THE KICKABOUT:- Will we see TFC pour all of 2011's remaining energy into the only competition they have a
realistic shot at success in?
Sporting Kansas City Setup: Coach Peter Vermes was able to put to use his new playmaker on
loan from Vasco de Gama Jefferson. He patrolled the middle of the pitch and made several nice
passes, including one assist to Omar Bravo. Bravo set up wide left but was often found more inside
and up top.
Quietly FC Dallas man Brek Shea has wormed his way up the Major League Soccer goal scoring chart,
sitting just one behind Red Bulls' Thierry Henry, with nine goals to his name. His strike against
Toronto FC was bombastic and made even more satisfying as he broke the ankles of TFC's new DP (and
"worst person in the world") Torsten Frings.
I'm going make a statement that you may or may not disagree with: Brek Shea is on his way to being
the second-coming of Clint Mathis, adventurous hair-styling choices and all. Dude is southern,
speedy, has a penchant for making winding runs through lackadaisical defenses, and is not afraid to
hit a ballsy-ass ball from distance.
Dallastasaray: No Turkish delight
IN THE TUNNEL:Before the transfer window season started we commented that TFC better have new players arriving
like clowns out of a tiny car. Well, Aron Winter bought a Fiat and the players have come pouring
out - so much so that no less than five new faces would take to the pitch on a very steamy night at
BMO Field.
The revolving door at BMO Field keeps turning.
Toronto FC traded Tony Tchani to the Columbus Crew on Friday in exchange for centerback Andy Iro
and midfielder Leandre Griffit.
The move comes a day after Toronto picked up Terry Dunfield from Vancouver and dealt Jacob
Peterson, Alan Gordon and Nana Attakora to San Jose for Ryan Johnson, allocation money and an
international roster slot.
No pressure Torsten
IN THE TUNNEL:A few days after suffering one of the
most humiliating losses in the club's history (and there's a few to choose from) TFC continued its
"Places De Ro Played Tour". Tonight it was the always difficult Robertson Stadium - home of Houston
Dynamo.
Kirsten and Megan highlight this episode with their discussion of the Women's World Cup, as they
give their thoughts on the referees, the surprises, the disappointments, and dive into the USWNT's
performances so far. They are sure that Abby Wambach's going to get a goal at some point. They
preview Wednesday's game against Sweden, a game in which the pressure, for the most part, is off,
but that doesn't mean they won't be tested.
The criticisms surrounding Aron Winter & Co's "re-building" of Toronto FC had recently started
to reach alarming levels in some supporting circles. A lack of results and seemingly neutral
development on the pitch coupled with relative quiet off the pitch started to make murmurs of
displeasure turn into yells.
Tonight is a lovely night for football. The drawback is that we get TFC and Vancouver instead. This
quest for the Wooden Spoon runs right through the confines of BMO Field. Last place is firmly on
the line!
Winter and Co. debuted two new signings in Torsten Frings (of Harvey's meal accessory fame) and
Danny Koevermans (of the Van Koevermans fame) as well as a shifting of priorities putting Winter in
the role of Manager, de Klerk as coach, and Mariner as MLS-to-Rest of World football translator
(there ish no dutcsh woerd for "shalaree kapsh").

Vettel: Can He Play Left Back? When the Red Bulls official Twitter account began circulating
a rumor last week that a mystery trialist from Germany would be arriving to train with the team on
Monday, it started the inevitable round of speculation among hardcore fans. Klose? Frings? Ballack?
Some other less high profile player in the Joel Lindpere/Jan Gunnar Solli mode?

Für das Deutsche Vaterland!
It was wet, humid and dark, but for the television screen glowing. I stood in front of the TV in
my grandmother's home in Johor Bahru, singing along to the German national anthem.
