the Arsenal squad.
The imminent resigning of Arsenal Legend Thierry Daniel Henry has left speculators, pundits and
critics undecided about the impact this might have on the Arsenal squad. It is easy to overlook the
Wenger & Henry combination which has proved to be successful on and off for approximately twenty
years.

It's been a long time. 32 years to be exact since the U.S. Men's National team played the French
National team. In fact the U.S. played the French twice that year with France winning both contests
by a combined total of 9-0, including a 6-0 shutout on May 2, 1979, in E. Rutherford, N.J. In [...]
Marvin Martin has ruled out the prospect of signing for Arsenal in January, insisting that he
will not leave Sochaux in the middle of the season.
Martin led the French Ligue with 17 assists last year and immediately appeared on Gunners boss
Arsene Wenger's radar as a potential replacement for either Samir Nasri or former skipper Cesc
Fabregas.
Former French international and one of the games greats Zinedine Zidane is considering the
option of returning to the French national team as a coach. Zidane who retired from the side after
he infamously head butted Marco Materazzi during the 2006 world cup finals, made the statement
when questioned by Le Parisien.
Funny how football fortunes can quickly change... Not so long ago, such a game would have been
eagerly expected, for this was promising an intense and entertaining game. But shortly before
Laurent Blanc announced he would be leaving the Girondins to take the reigns of the French National
Team, the internal dynamics of the so far successful team started to derail.
Newcastle United are a team that many predicted would be fighting for their Premier League lives
this season after the sale of high profile players such as Carroll, Nolan and Barton.
After five games and it's so far so good. Fourth in the table is a good way to answer the
critics.
The opening performances have been accomplished if nothing and the French revolution on Tyneside
is a contributing factor.
Arsenal striker Marouane Chamkh has told French television outlet L'Equipe TV that
teammates Cesc Fabregas and Samir Nasri are "likely" to leave the Emirates before the transfer
window closes.
Both players have been linked with transfers all summer, with Fabregas heavily tipped for a
return to boyhood club Barcelona.
Abby Wambach is back in form. The United States Women's National Team is on their way to the World
Cup final for the first time since 1999. They achieved this feet in their 3-1 victory over a feisty
French national team. The game was a close one and like the USWNT's victory against Brazil, this
game had some impressive moments of excitement.
So, this morning I wanted to read "tout sur les Bleues," in preparation for this much anticipated
match against Germany.
I was so absorbed in the football, it took me a few minutes before I noticed the leg action on the
right and left margins. This appears to be part of a publicity for the team - "the legs know how
evade one's marker.
According to the News of the World, United are in discussion with Nike over a world record £400
million kit deal. Nike currently pay United £23.5m per year, and with their existing 10-year deal
expiring in 2015, it makes sense to open discussions now on a new deal.

In October 2001, the national football teams of France and Algeria faced off in a long-awaited,
and (at least in principle) "friendly" international game at the Stade de France in Paris. The
event was trumpeted as an opportunity for reconciliation, a symbolic end to the conflict between
the two countries, and an opportunity for a French nation increasingly shaped by it's Algerian
immigrant population to find peace within itself.
Here's, the FFF-produced video for the French women's national team:
Yikes. I mean, parts of it are cute, I guess. But not so much the parts where individual members of
the team lip sync.
Members of the national team also posed nude in 2009, for an FFF campaign with the lovely slogan,
"Do we have to show up like this, in order for you to come see us play?
Tomorrow night, in Kansas, we'll be able to enjoy one of those fixtures that makes the Gold Cup
such a pleasure to some of us, and a rather mystifying affair to many others. Indeed, the Gold Cup
competition, while it takes place year after year in the U.S., seems to largely fly under the radar
for many in this country except, of course, for fans of the Mexican national team, and for those of
the Central American and Caribbean teams for whom it represents perhaps the most important
international competition.

Well, at least one American national team won its friendly this weekend.
The U.S. women's national team won its final tune-up before the start of the World Cup, topping
Mexico, 1-0, at Red Bull Arena on Sunday. Lauren Cheney scored a splendid goal from distance in
second-half stoppage time to give the Americans the win.
In the months leading up to and during the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa, the French
National Team found itself and its players involved in numerous scandals. One of the most infamous
of those scandals involved allegations that Franck Ribery, Karim Benzema, and Sidney Govou had sex
with an underage prostitute.
French national team coach Laurent Blanc has been cleared by France's Sports
Minister Chantal Jouanno of discrimination claims.
Jouanno said no anti-discrimination laws were broken when Blanc and soccer federation colleagues
discussed whether quotas should be introduced to curb training academy access for young French
players with dual nationality, many of them black and Arab.

French national team manager Laurent Blanc today has been cleared of racism charges by the
French Football Federation.
Claims that Blanc had backed a project to reduce the number of ethnic minority players in the
national set-up put the Frenchman under the spotlight.

It seems as though a lot has changed in French Football since the Domenechian World Cup debacle.
Laurent Blanc's inspiring ideology has brought the best out of players who want to play football
and are eager to represent their country.
French Football Federation (FFF) technical director François Blaquart has been suspended by the
French Government pending an investigation following his statement that the FFF is concerned about
investing in training players who make themselves unavailable for selection for the French national
team by choosing to play for another country.

From our friends over at BBK, a look at the situation with racism and the French national team
that was linked to yesterday on tBG.
This afternoon the French blog Mediapart published a stunning report, based on several weeks of
investigation, that argues that racist ideas have become normalized, indeed banalized, at the
highest levels of the French Football Federation. You can read an English version of the report
here. And I have published a piece in reaction the article at Mediapart, which echoes and extends
some of the reflections here.
French football chiefs' plan to whiten 'les Bleus'
Absolutely ridiculous news out of French. Read and be amazed at how respected officials can
promote racism. Another reason to hate the French National Team. It's a fantastic read on how
institutional racism can start and be continued.
One of the defining characteristics of this season in the Premie League has been the desperate
battle to avoid relegation. With seven matches of the season left to play, there are still ten
clubs that could still be relegated and it seems likely that the scramble will last until the very
end of the season.
France and Croatia lock horns in the most intriguing friendly to take place over the upcoming
international break. Both nations are comfortably leading the way in their respective Euro 2012
qualifying groups, and are well placed to secure their passage to the finals in Poland and the
Ukraine in the coming months.

It was announced way back in 2008 that Nike was going to be designing the French National Team's
kits from 2011-2018 and we totally forgot about it waited with baited breath to see the
results.
The home kit was unveiled in January and while it is simple and nice, it is not nearly as tight
as the Adidas kit Les Bleus sported during the 2010 World Cup.
In recent days the Montreal Impact completed their "French connection" by signing two players
with Ligue 2 experience, midfielder Idriss Ech-Chergui and defender Kevin
Hatchi. The signings bring Montreal to the seven foreign player roster limit.
Introduction.
Concern has begun to lift for the first time from the Azzurri camp in recent memory. Wednesday
night @ Dortmund could be considered a return to form for our fabled Azzurri; not only did we
achieve a positive Germany 1-1 Italy result, but we did it in spectacular fashion amidst a
humungous German audience of which only the likes of Dortmund can offer.
French midfielder Ousmane Dabo has signed a Major League Soccer contract and will be joining the
New England Revolution once his transfer certificate and visa are finalized according to multiple
reports. Dabo, who turned 34 today, last played in the Italian Serie A for Lazio and notched
three career appearances with the French national team during the 2003 Confederations Cup.

Liverpool have been linked with Luis Suarez of Ajax for some time now and a deal did appear very
close, however the clubs cannot agree a fee and it is now being reported that Kenny Dalglish, the
Liverpool manager, has set his sites on 26 year old Paris St Germain striker Guillaume Hoarau.
Hoarau has been knocking the goals in fairly consistently finding the net 23 times in 50 games for
St Germain and has finally broken through to the French National team appearing three times for
them, he has been likened to a former Liverpool forward, Peter Crouch, mainly due to his size at
6ft 4in.
Liverpool target French midfielder Yann M'Vila (20) has told how his dream move
would be to the Red's fiercest rivals Manchester United.
The Rennes midfielder has come to promise since the arrival of former United defender Laurent
Blanc took charge of the French national team and has been a regular in the French squad ever
since.

Everyone in France these days seems to talk about little else than the possible signing of Kevin
Gameiro by Valencia CF
They do it in their current club Lorient, so do men of weight in his other suitors, Bordeaux and
Lille, and even the french national team.
Laurent Blanc trainer of the french nationals used his appearance on the show 'Le Grand Forum
