Since the transfer window came into force during the 2002-03 season, Spurs have been one of the
most active clubs in terms of players arriving at and leaving White Hart Lane.
After a fairly quiet window by their standards – signing trio Yago Falque, Louis Saha and Ryan
Nelsen all on free transfers, let's take a look at seven players signed for big money during the
January period.
There was a lack of real excitement during the final day of the 2012 January Transfer Window,
with none of the Premier League's big names on the move and a subsequent drop in spending from the
same day 12 months ago means the latest transfer window closed without much of a noise.
The speculation that ran wild from Sky Sports News reporters situated at Premier League grounds
became boring with attention being finally turned to actual fixtures that took place on the
night.

Even the Daily Mail had to be pleasant about Spurs in the wake of our 4-0 win over Liverpool at
the weekend and this morning the paper has started a story linking the club to a move for Swiss
goal keeper Eldin Jakupovic.
Jakupovic currently plays his football in Greece but after his side Olympiakos Volos were
relegated to the lower tiers of national football following match fixing allegations, all of their
players have become available on free transfers.
Apparently they name hurricanes using men and women's names, working their way sequentially through
the alphabet.
After Irene left a trail of havoc up the eastern seaboard of America, I don't know what happened to
Jose but there's no mistaking that Hurricane Kenny swept through Anfield in the last fortnight,
carrying away lots of dead wood and depositing things in unlikely settings.

Latest rumours surrounding Serbian International, Milan Jovanovic appear to suggest that the player
has almost agreed personal terms with Belgian club Anderlecht.
His agent has claimed that a deal has almost been done between the two clubs and that all that
remains now is for the forward to agree his weekly wages with the club.
Leave the Fireworks to the Professionals, M'kay?Viper said it earlier, but we'd like to wish
happy 4th of July to all of our readers! We hope you enjoy your time today with friends and family

There's just a bit of news to report today as the Red Bulls enjoy a day of recuperation following
their mammoth four-game road trip.
It will not have gone unnoticed that Newcatsle have brought in three good players and let one good
player go but the net transfer outlay so far this summer is zero. Alan Pardew £35M will be
reinvested Newcastle brought in Demba Ba and Sylvain Margeaux on free transfers, and paid around
£4.5M for [.
The annual carousel of potential transfer targets is spinning once again in Turin as Juventus
look to try and build a title contending team. As is the summer tradition, star players from all
across Europe are being linked with the Bianconeri. But while the flashy names are splashed across
the headlines, club General Manager Giuseppe Marotta and Juventus are quietly going about the
business of fixing what really needed to be fixed.
Jonathan Spector, Eddie Johnson, and Marcus Hahnemann are available as free transfers after parting
ways with their clubs. Spector, who found success last season in a switch from defense to midfield,
leaves West Ham United. West Ham was relegated at the end of the season. Spector joined the club
for the 2006-07 season, ultimately making 101 Premier League appearances.
Portsmouth striker David Nugent is out-of-contract this summer and the one-time England
international is keen to resolve his playing situation one way or another in the coming weeks.
The former Bury trainee enjoyed a good footballing education at Gigg Lane in League Two, earning
a move to Preston North End, who, at the time were challenging for Championship promotion.
Is your club completely skint? Still waiting for your Arab oil sheikh to sink billions of his
black gold profits into your first team? Just like the rest of us, you'll probably we waiting a
long time. As Manchester City fans are going to find out in the next few seasons, money can't
guarantee you long-term success.
It is safe to say that Liverpool have not been the most adept in the Bosman free transfer market
over the last few years. With limited money to spend under former owners Tom Hicks and George
Gillett, the Reds have delved into the free transfer market and come up with some real stinkers.
The Ukrainian striker Andriy Voronin came from Bayer Leverkusen in 2007, and he was followed to
Anfield by Standard Liege's Milan Jovanovic and Chelsea's Joe Cole last summer.
With the news that Jean-Marc Bosman, (the Belgian footballer whose court case changed football's
financial clout), is now out of work and living on benefits, I thought it would be a good
opportunity for us to look at potential free transfers this summer.
Miroslav Klose (Bayern Munich) – I know that we have big Andy and the tricky Suarez, but
all top clubs have 3 top class strikers fighting for a starting position so why wouldn't we take a
look at him?
I realize this is Portland Is Wonderful Week - probably, as the saying goes, with great justice.
Portland soccer is back on the map...wearing Adidas shirts. That's like, I dunno, thousands of
people knocking back Diet Pepsi in downtown Atlanta.
But a couple of Du Nord links raised my hackles and my cockles.

Player transfers were one of many things Liverpool managed poorly last summer, as Christian
Purslow and Roy Hodgson oversaw some woeful signings and ludicrous sales.

Well Manchester United have shown their ambition. They have proved to the world that under the
control of the Glazers only the best will play for United.Michael Carrick, that midfield player of
great renown has signed an extention to his contract until 2014.As Victor Meldrew would say 'I
