Great result for Matt Reis and the Revs! Wonder if it had anything to do with him being on my
JMS Podcast last week??? LOL!
Wow! Montero!
Shalrie is a legend for the Revs!
Sorry to hear about Steve Ralston tearing his ACL in this game. He is a great player and one
the Revs needed to count on down the stretch.

The story line might be all the red cards in this game but I think it should be about Seattle's
Montero. The guy scores goals for fun but it looked like he was wearing two different color
cleats too. Anyone else see that??

Here are my votes in the media balloting for the 2009 Major League Soccer All-Star team:
GOALKEEPER (1)
Kasey Keller, Seattle Sounders: Although he doesn't have the best stats in the
league, he's having the best year.
DEFENDERS (3)
Chad Marshall, Columbus Crew: Scores goals, shuts down opponents, plays clean.

That game totally and completely qualifies as "pulling one out of your ass".
As a Galaxy fan, this game was a tie that felt like a victory. Not only are we the first team to
take points at Rio Tinto this season, but pulling it out in the 95th minute AFTER conceding a
penalty kick showed the major difference between this year's team and the previous two.

Footage from Toronto FC's first ever home game in MLS in 2007. Anyone who saw footage of the MLS'
newest club, the Seattle Sounders, open their campaign against New York Red Bulls could not help
but make comparisons with the last team prior to them to have joined the league, dearest Toronto
FC. The Candian club marked [.

Seattle Sounders star striker Fredy Montero could miss this weekend's match at Toronto FC with
what was being described as the flu, but his problems could involve far worse than an illness.
According to the Seattle Post-Intellegencer, a Seattle-area woman has accused Montero of
stalking her and has claimed that he is doing so after she accused him of sexual assault a week
earlier.

We received the following report by email.br /br /If true this is sure to piss off more than a few
people in the Emerald City.br /br /blockquotespan style="font-style: italic;"br /br
/Hello MLSR,br /br /Take a look at this. I believe I have found evidence that MLS is trying to fix
the vote so that an American, Kenny Cooper wins the Goal of The Week for the first week of the
season.

You missed a good game on Thursday if you were wrapped up in the NCAA early round games. The
Seattle Sounders clobbered the NY Red Bull 3-0 which is a nice introduction to the league. They've
got a 21 y.o. Columbian kid by the name of Freddy Montero you'll be seeing a lot of this
season.
Meanwhile, MLS Commission Don Garber was in Portland on Friday inviting them to join the league
in 2010.

And finally the 2009 MLS season has kicked off. I've been anxious for the season to start. Not only
to see Gary Smith show good of a coach he but also to watch some of the commentators back peddle on
their predictions about Seattle making the playoffs. It's great to see a team their but this is
1998.

Seattle Sounders FC fans hearts must have skipped a beat this afternoon.
Another blog which we won't mention has done a lot of speculation today based on this short excerpt
from a Seattle Press-Intelligencer article:
Sounders FC forward Fredy Montero has left the team to travel to South America, where he is sorting
out personal contract issues with his agents.

Romero wins the horse race getting his game story up first. For me the note is the outside speed of
Zakuani creating in the box and drawing a penalty. Fredy Montero converts. Zakuani started at Left
Wing of a 4-4-2. The main surprise is reading that Sturgis started at left back. Brad Evans seems
to be Ljungberg [.

to add firepower to their lineup. On just their second day of training camp, the club made their
second signing since camp began, adding Colombian forward Fredy Montero, contingent upon him

The people who inhabit Puget Sound (also known as "Sounders") are in for a bit of

say Montero may not be coming to MLS next year and would be going to Real Betis (Spain) instead.

We're not sure to make of this, especially the part that says "MLS bought 60% of his rights
for 2 million dollars" but we pass it on as rumor because, well that's what it is. The 22 year
old striker/attacking midfielder is currently with Colombian side Deportivo Cali (The same club
RSL's Jamison Olave called home before MLS).
