The 2012 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup will much different than any of its predecessors.
U.S. Soccer announced a number of changes for the 99th edition of the tournament. Those changes
include a 64-team field (the largest in the modern era), a random selection process for determining
home teams from the opening round until the quarterfinals, and the inclusion of all professional
teams from the top three divisions, meaning the MLS qualifying bracket is no more.

insurance goal in the 52nd minute of the game when he pounced on a rebound and knocked the ball

The final round of matches in the second round of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying might as well
not be played, as all the teams to advance are now known.
The six teams to secure their passage into the third round of qualifying were finalized on

Alberto Aquilani's agent Franco Zavaglia has confirmed that a permanent move from Liverpool to AC
Milan is still very much on the cards for the Italian midfielder.

HARRISON, N.J. - The U.S. men's national team is still a work in progress under new head coach
Jurgen Klinsmann. That much was made obvious during the last two friendlies against Honduras and
Ecuador.
What may have been just as obvious is how well Clint Dempsey is adapting to a new role in the
more attack-oriented system Klinsmann is implementing, even if things aren't perfect yet.
