MLS Debris 19 July @ 10:32 PM EST
A couple of MLS alums have found new teams. After regaining his scoring touch in Paraguay, Carlos
Ruiz has moved from Apertura champs Olimpia to Mexican club Puebla. One of the best strikers in
league history, Ruiz still ranks 8th on the all-time MLS goal scoring list.
Puebla recently lost another former FC Dallas player when Ramon Nunez moved to Cruz Azul.

DCUMD 03 July @ 10:12 AM EST
This is our second of four posts in review of the moves DC United has made since the end of last
season. Last week we looked at their acquisitions, today we'll look at the players who departed,
and then later we'll look at their trades.
1. It's hard to imagine how different DC United's season would be had they retained Marcelo
Gallardo in 2009.

The rumor was flying around last week and now its official. Avery John has been
added to DC United and Francis Doe has been shown the door to free up a roster spot. Goff broke the
news yesterday on his blog over on wapo.com. Nobody was sure who would go to make room for
John.

The pieces are continuing to fall into place as United's 2009 squad takes form. Today, we got
word that Francis Doe has re-signed with the team. Doe joined the club early in April of last year
and despite dealing with a few injuries, managed to tally seven goals in 19 games (11 starts) in
all competitions.

At long last, Namoff is officially back in the fold for the 2009 campaign. And while we're raiding
Goff's cupboard, let's take a look at some DCU dirt he dug up from Dave Kasper. The big news? (1)
We're getting close to landing Walter Martinez and bringing Doe back. They'd both be on loan, but
that's pretty close to filling out our forward depth chart.

A couple of quick updates from Robert F. Kennedy Memorial Stadium...
Francis Doe has been dealing with a pretty severe toe infection for the last few weeks and
yesterday went to have it checked out. Doe went through a process called debridement, which removes
the infected tissue. It's tough to say immediately how long he'll be out, but he'll likely miss at
least a couple of weeks while healing.

This article states that Francis Doe has lost his US Passport, which also contained his work visa
and his European visa. As a result, he's not allowed to come back to the club. In the article, he's
afraid that his contract will be terminated. Doe also thinks that Liberian officials are showing

DC United Tickle Yeah . . . ummmm . . . so, like, not too many injuries, huh? Well, baring a
certain hairy ankle that just won't heal. Seriously, not much is going right for the Black-and-Red
at the moment, but I think that it's a little too early to start making folks (Soehn, Peralta,
Emilio, Wells) walk the plank.

We'll soon announce that Francis Doe has been signed as a senior international. He'll be
available for selection following receipt of his P-1 Visa. The forward joined the team on trial
last week after being waived by the Red Bulls earlier this year. His professional career includes
stops in Greece, Ghana, Cameroon and the United States of America.

MLS Rumors 14 April @ 11:04 AM EST
According to Behind The Badge, the official blog of D.C. United, it appears that United may be
ready to undertake another reclamation project, 22 year old Liberian striker Francis
"Grandpa" Doe.
Having been successful so far with Santino Quaranta, another ex-Red Bull forward, now receiving
significant minutes, this could prove to be a savvy move.

RED BULLS PREVIEW - 2008
Let me begin by saying - this is completely based on the team as currently configured. I know April
15th is right around the corner, and 2 signings can change everything, but this is the current
situation.
With that said . . .
Lets begin with a Haiku . .

The Crew have talked a lot about adding a threat up top this off-season, but so far, nothing has
appeared. To prove this theory of need, look no further then their 1-0 defeat by the Premier
Development League's Ventura County Fusion. For those who do not know, the PDL is the fourth-level
in American soccer.

Only two weeks after the New York Red Bulls signed him for the season, Francis Doe is no longer
with the club.
"After evaluating our roster over the course of the pre-season, we feel that we have solid depth at
forward and thought that it would be beneficial to part ways," Red Bulls sporting director Jeff
Agoos said.

YUP. ITS A TIE FOLKS.
So much for pouring on the pressure.
That lasted one half. The first one.
And clearly, the second belonged to New England (at least, quality goal scoring opportunity
wise).
Now, with a tie heading into Gilette, our backs are truly against the wall.
What is it about us playing against the Revodouchers?

HERE WE GO AGAIN
FSC: 7:30pm. YOU GOTTA GET IN THE GAME!
For the third time in five years, we face off, in the postseason, against another strong New

With the playoffs secured, a known opponent set, and nothing to gain, I ask you my loyal readers
. . .
What should RBNY do with the next game heading into the playoffs?
We have seen similiar situations in the past - and every coach handles it differently.
Would you put in your best starters?
Or would the scrubs come out to play?
