Soffo The Greek belled me last Wednesday with an invite of a freebie at The Emirates to watch Arsenal V Liverpool. I arrived to a packed Stadium but couldn't help but wonder if I'd been sucked into a May 09 Emiratian time warp. Wasn't most of this side on the pitch for the FA youth Cup final in spring?

So Liverpool were seen off in the week, an entertaining game and overall a deserved victory. Ramsey has taken a lot of plaudits, as has Fran Merida. Fabianski has apparently picked up a muscular strain which means that Arsene cannot hide from the Almunia question. Will Manuel start against the spuds? Click to continue reading...

Arsereview 30 October @ 07:46 AM EST
With Lukasz Fabianski's injury, it is pretty unlikely that a single one of the players involved in Wednesday's Carling Cup match will start the North London Derby tomorrow. As such, it is very difficult to draw any great conclusions from the Liverpool match.
In terms of momentum, it will mean nothing - maybe it will inspire the players for the next round but no more than that. Click to continue reading...

Anfield Talk 29 October @ 01:55 PM EST
Liverpool were eliminated from the League Cup due to a 2-1 loss sustained at Arsenal's Ashburton Grove home, but Rafael Benitez has insisted that the defeat will not dilute the feel-good factor that engulfed Anfield following the Manchester United win at the weekend.

Just several random things going on today, none of which really deserve their own post, so I figured I would just dump them in here together.

Dirty Tackle 29 October @ 04:42 AM EST

A typically youthful Arsenal Carling Cup side (save captain for a day Mickael Silvestre) defeated Liverpool's mixed bag lineup 2-1 on Wednesday. It was obviously tough fourth round draw for both clubs and ended in controversy when Alberto Aquilani, making his Liverpool first team debut after coming on as a substitute, took an overhead shot at goal in injury that hit Philippe Senderos on the arm.
