Arsene Wenger had some good news.
"After being assessed by the Arsenal medical staff, the club can confirm that Kieran Gibbs has

I was just about to compare our current left back conundrum to the one of the 2005 -2006 season.
You know the season where like 9 different players played in that position. And just as I was about

RVP's convalescence time has been reduced to 4-6 weeks, less than the two months feared. He has

Chelsea had an unbelievable win over the weekend in a key match against Manchester United. In
fact it was like one of those over-the-top, cheesy type of sports movie rivalries between the two
best teams in the league facing off for first place. And the Blues made every right move they
needed to in order to guarantee that success at the most critical of moments.

The midweek Copa del Rey match went far better for Valencia than it did for a few of the other
top leaguers this week. Though not spectacular the single away goal by Joaquin has placed Valencia
firmly in the drivers seat for the upcomming home game.
Joaquin scored a a gorgeous little chip shot to gain the winning goal in the 10th minute of
play.

Sampdoria striker Giampaolo Pazzini took a vicious elbow to the nose from Lazio goalkeeper
Fernando Muslera as he tried to punch the ball away during Sunday's match. Pazzini suffered a
"fracture of the nasal bones" and will be out for a month.
Malicious or did Muslera's elbow jut out toward Pazzini's face in some kind of reactionary
attempt to keep the flying striker from landing on him?

And it's no secret how the Blues made the great leap up the league table.

Yes, it's hardly something to get overly excited about (although I love this kind of
enthusiasm). But good times call for celebration, even through just five games of the season, as
Arsenal sits on top, one point ahead of Chelsea and Liverpool. The biggest point of triumph is the
elimination of the dropped points at Fulham.
