Major League Soccer Commissioner Don Garber held a special meeting in New York City with Houston
Dynamo midfielder Stuart Holden on Thursday to discuss a new deal, according to Houston's FOX 26.
The move is a strong sign that the league considers the up-and-coming U.S. international as one of
their most important assets and wants to avoid losing him during the offseason.

David Beckham was at the center of controversy once again this past weekend as he was involved
in a red card fracas.
As the Los Angeles Galaxy squared up with Western Conference rivals Houston Dynamo, Beckham went
in late and hard on Houston player Ricardo Clark. Houston captain Brian Ching was not pleased with
Beckham's challenge at all, and the American forward promptly pushed Becks in the face and
exchanged some harsh words.

I must say the starting line up had me a little worried. Looking at Song, Denilson and Diaby in
the middle, it was difficult to imagine where the creativity would come from. The initial few
minutes were worrisome as Hull went about hassling our players and it was clear that the ref was
going to be lenient about it, once again.

I understand it is normal at the end of AFC games for both teams to line up at the end of the game
in the centre circle and shake hands with their opponents and match officials. Last night Kuwait
didn't, preferring to slink off down the tunnel.
All in all I don't think the Kuwaitis will look back on their Jakarta trip with a great deal of
fondness.

In another action-packed weekend of Scottish football, Aberdeen fail to capitalise on last week's

As if things couldn't get any glummer today following yesterdays Wolves nadir: Benoit Assou Ekotto,
perhaps still raging after his first half fracas with Tim Cahill and subsequent substitution at
Everton last week, is being investigated by the police for an alleged incident with a fan at the
Lane yesterday.
