Heartbreak for Gabon and Aubamayeng but a bright future awaits... is a post from: Just
Football
In my latest column for FourFourTwo I take a look at co-hosts Gabon
and their exciting but ultimately heartbreaking Africa Cup of Nations
campaign:
After the laughter comes tears.
Why Senegal failed at Africa Cup of Nations 2012 is a post from: Just Football
My latest African football column for FourFourTwo looks at Senegal,
who slumped to bottom of their group and an early trip home despite being one of the pre-tournament
favourites. Why did they fail?
It's a massive game on Sunday and two sides in contrasting situations. Chelsea are not playing as
well as we would like to see them playing and are still
struggling to create chances and
feed Fernando Torres. We find ourselves 12 points behind United.
United, with plenty of injuries are still picking up vital wins and are now back on level par with
City.
Tunisia The team to beat at Africa Cup of Nations 2012? is a post from: Just Football
My latest African football column for FourFourTwo looks at Tunisia and
whether they are the team to beat at this year's AFCON:
For a team that could just as easily be sitting at home watching on TV, they made a pretty good
start.
Group A: African Cup of Nations Preview (Equatorial Guinea, Libya, Senegal, Zambia) is a post
from: Just Football
No introductions, you know what this is. The African Cup of Nations 2012, in
all its resplendent glory. This will be the 28th edition of the Cup of Nations and the third
covered on Just Football after 2008 and 2010.
Today, Newcastle based journalist Kristan Heneage, who has seen his name spread across the football
blogging world in 2011 featuring on EPL Talk, MLS Talk and FourFourTwo and The Guardian, to name a
few. You know him as one of ...

Below is a comparison of individual statistics from Henderson and Kuyt's last four league games
when played on the right of a 4-2-2-2. Formation notation is subjective, especially with this
season's group of players, but these are how I saw each formation at the start of matches. For
Henderson, that's wins over Wolves and Bolton, the draw against Sunderland, and loss at Stoke.
This is pretty cool offer from FourFourTwo they are offering a free digital
copy of the first US edition of their online magazine. It is packed with over 300 pages of top
soccer action and news, with features on the likes of Rooney and Hernandez, Chelsea's new 33 year
old manager and a full preview of the 2011/12 season.

Brazilian soccer was recently pronounced dead by British magazine FourFourTwo, and, frankly, the
senior team did very little to dispel that notion at the Copa America, but Ney Franco's Under-20
side salvaged the summer by capturing Brazil's fifth World Youth Championship.
On August 16, 2011 the way we can view the Barclays Premier League changed forever. From background
interviews with Opta, the football stats company, we have seen the developments made in statistics
technology. With the help of FourFourTwo and Opta,...

A quick note. Instead of the usual Guardian Chalkboards, there are links to the FourFourTwo
StatsZone diagrams. Similar utilities, but StatsZone has a couple of features I like better,
primarily the way they classify tackles, show passes in the final third, and its ease of use. If
you have an iPhone, iPad, etc.
Seeing my club change some years ago to SSG and slowly seeing kids working with a ball you can see
the impact the changes are and can have on Aussie football.
My club is no Barcelona - not in culture of skills, but we do play SSG's. I'd like to see 5 v 5
taken to at least U11s but that's clearly just me.
"Since Margaret Thatcher stopped teachers being paid extra money for coaching sports after
school, all sporting activities have diminished on a competitive basis.
"Kids are now more obese and unfit than ever. All the prime young athletes we were ready to
develop just aren't there, so we get a lesser quality of player.
African XI Team of the season 2010-11 is a post from: Just Football
It has been quite a successful season for African footballers in Europe. Fresh
from a first World Cup on the continent last summer in South Africa, several players have returned
to their clubs to go on and inspire them to victory and silverware.
Edwin Van der Sar's heroic career has ended and we're proud to have two of the best experts
on Dutch football and Ajax, Mohamed Moallim and Babette van
Haaren, each pay their respect to one of Holland's greats. We start with the
biography-esque piece from Mohamed (Twitter / Personal Blog), who is a British freelance
journalist currently writing for publications such as World Football Columns and FourFourTwo
amongst many others on the brilliant world of Dutch football.
Ghana ready for bright lights of Wembley on historic night is a post from: Just Football
England meet Ghana tonight for the first ever time at senior
level, a historic occasion for the 2010 World Cup quarter finalists even if Fabio Capello has
watered the clash down somewhat by sending home several senior players.
Episode 2 of the New Year bring more surprises as the boys are joined by Matthew Barker a freelance
writer who has been published in the pages of FourFourTwo, When Saturday Comes, Esquire, GQ, ITV
and Skysports. Topics include the Macheda loan-transfer, Roma and Mexes, Juventus' crashing fall
and Udinese's romp in the San Siro.
