Major League Soccer's playoffs begin today. You know the playoffs, right?
It's that high-anxiety time everyone around MLS points toward for eight months. Really, longer
than that if you count the anticipation that builds as early as the annual January draft.
And the playoffs as a concept even serve as a flashpoint for debate; plenty of supporters would
rather they be eliminated outright.

television ratings, American soccer fans already know that Major League Soccer lags far behind this
country's established sports leagues. MLS has long talked about a broader footprint, but even with
19 teams next season there are areas of the USA and Canada where the League has no presence.
Ryan Giggs has today been named the winner of the Golden Boot award, which is recognition given
to players over the age of 29 who are selected by journalists from all over the world and voted for
by fans.
The other nominations for the 2011 award were Gianluigi Buffon, Iker Casillas, Didier Drogba,
Samuel Eto'o, Carles Puyol, Raul, Xavi and Javier Zanetti.
More then a week ago, Fox tried something new and they were rewarded for it. After showing the
Manchester United vs. Chelsea game live on FSC, the network decided to show the game on their
regular Fox stations after the local NFL was over.
In Philly it was during the 1 p.m., while in other cities it was the 4 p.
Looks like Don Diego made his best move since the 1986 World Cup leaving a footprint on a fan's
hand. That man had it coming. The banner read, "Grandfather, I'm with you, love you, Benja"
(referring to Benjamin, Maradona's grandson through daughter Giannina and Sergio Aguero).
Even better news, Maradona celebrated his first win as Al Wasl's coach.
Is it possible there wouldn't be an MLS if the Seattle Sounders hadn't joined? Prior to Seattle's
first season in 2009, the league was still struggling and there were some doubts as to whether it
would survive.

One thing is certain, 2012 will be different. How different for Major League Soccer is the
question.
MLS will have 19 clubs next season with Montreal entering the mix. This all means the schedule
gets a little trickier.
One of the vice-girls Wayne Rooney was alleged to have an affair with while
Wife Coleen was pregnant for their son Kia was viciously assaulted in Bolton's Victoria Inn late
Sunday night.
Ex vice-girl Helen Wood was left with a broken nose, two black eyes, a
footprint on her face and cuts and grazes after the assault in her local pub.
Ryan Giggs is one of ten players who has been nominated for the Golden Foot award which is given
to players over the age of 29.
Sports journalists from all over the world have shortlisted the ten players and the winner will
leave his footprint on Monaco's Champions Promenade 'Walk of Fame'.

Valentin.
Zarek Valentin leaves the Akron Zips as a 19-year old NCAA Champion with boundless potential and
a near future, at least, that lies in Major League Soccer. The Lancaster, PA native has left
quite the footprint in only two seasons, one that has been duplicated on the international level
with Thomas Rongen's U-20s as well.
