Mmm ....... Roland Martin seems quite comfortable in his ascot. Too comfortable.
Roland Martin, CNN's most vocal homophobic bigot gets all frothy and excited over the David
Beckham undie ad that aired on Super Bowl. With friends like these, does Obama need any
enemies?
He probably thought seeing the ad would turn half of America's menfolk gay.
SPANISH FOOTBALL & its LIGA went back in time, in a sort of matter, as this weekend Round 1
was celebrated & four match were scheduled. Remember that the Spanish Football season did not kick
- off due to a players strike? Well today part of that missed Round was celebrated. Here is a brief
summary with the final results & scorers of tonight's games.
As soon as Graham Westley had parked his Bentley into the car park at Deepdale, bookmakers
online were offering odds on who will be the next manager to step into the Broadhall Way hotseat.
It's arguably the best management position currently on offer in the Football League. Stevenage sit
6th in the League 1 table, are still in the FA Cup and have a squad full of young, hungry players
with room to improve even further.
Newcastle have asked the FA for help in sorting out exactly when their two African stars have to
leave to join their countries for the African Cup of Nations. Demba Ba we need him for FAA Cup

European football season, and it seems [.
I'm not gonna lie, my motivation is that I have spent much of the day watching the last day of
the professional tackle-football season and watching playoff scenarios and seedings fall into
place. It all gets me thinking about how the MLS is going to work going forward.
Yeah, okay, that's a reach, but bear with me.
As most of you will no doubt be aware, the Africa Cup of Nations will be taking place next month.
This incredibly awkward competition is held bi-annually, unlike the European Championships which
are held every four years. Also unlike the Euros, it is also usually held right in the middle of
the bloody football season!
Bring the festive season to the football season
Why not get festive with football this Christmas and give that special someone the gift of a
game!

There is a debate going on on whether the Premier League should scrap relegation and promotion
or not. Frankly, i think all those who are proposing the idea are crazy. I tried looking for an
appropriate word but the truth is only insanity can define such an idea.
Scrapping relegation would drastically reduce the level of competition in the league not to
mention reducing the revenue the league generates every season.
One of the best weeks of the Premier League European football season gets underway on Saturday
with five games on the slate including a matchup on ESPN 2 as Swansea City visits Wolverhampton.
The big match of the week and the biggest of the season so far in Premier League sports betting
takes place on Sunday as Manchester City visits Manchester United.
For a Chelsea supporter the football season is more than just a season, it's a story, a story that
fills your mind and heart with passion.
So this season we're turning to you, the fans, to help capture the spirit of the 2011/12
season.
All season long adidas and Chelsea FC will be collecting your photos and videos, and tweets with
the hashtag #allblues.

A broken thermometer near the grandstand reads 78°, but the truth of the matter is that games
were always played nearer the century mark, our very own Qatari World Cup matches on a windswept
field in Central California. The team, the Bakersfield Brigade, is long gone, victim to a downturn
in local fortunes as much as misplaced presumptions about the local fan base.
The 2011/12 football season is revolutionary in more ways than one. Not only are we seeing the rise
of the next great Manchester United team under the stewardship of Sir Alex Ferguson, and not
only...

It's Monday. It's September. The summer is over, with little but short days and dreary
weeknights at Stoke to look forward to in the fall. Unless you're one of our five Australian
readers, of course. But then you've got the local wildlife being in a 97% more killy mood to look
forward to, so it's not all good.
It was always going to happen. Such was the ferocity of the storm we've just been through, the
relative lack of activity afterwards makes it feel like there's very little going on.
In fact, the fact that there's very little going on makes it feels like there's nothing going
on. No rumours, although someone on Twitter yesterday asked me if it was true that we'd be buying
Hazard in January because he'd read something somewhere by someone.
Optimism to follow, but it would be remiss to begin proceedings with anything other than the
nasty business of a post-mortem...
The Arnie Approach
In the absence of our recognised midfield enforcers, our glorious leader adopted the cunning
tactical ploy of leaving the back-four without any protection to handle a City front-line so shiny
and expensive they had Tevez on the bench, while the rest of our team was crammed with attacking
types .
Four games into the new Argentinian football season and a surprise name currently tops the
table. Atlético de Rafaela, newly-promoted outfit from the town of Rafaela in Santa Fe province,
have started off with three wins and a defeat in the 2011-12 Torneo Apertura and will obviously
have to do a lot in order to stay there especially as traditional clubs such as Boca Juniors,
Racing Club and defending champions Vélez Sársfield are hanging on their coat tails.

Five Things We Learnt This Weekend - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
After three months of feigning interest in golf, cycling and cricket the Premier League
football season finally returned and here are my "Five Things We Learnt This weekend."
1. Liverpool Used to be Home to the Fab Four.
The headline in El País said it all: "The strike of champions."
As of Friday, August 12, the AFE (Spanish Footballers' Association) union resolved to strike for
at least the first two matchdays of the Spanish professional football season.
Their reason is a crisis in Spanish football related to the credit bust that, thus far, has
left at least 200 players in First and Second Divisions owed €50 million in wages.
Salvation is here! The English football season is back. I've been trying to fill the summer void by
taking to cricket but it's been challenging. In the text commentary for the previous Test match
against India, for example, several cricket fans...

The European football season gets under way this month but this does not mean that no football
has taken place during July and August. The Copa America, The Women's World Cup, World Cups at U-17
and U-20 levels, as well as major domestic leagues including Brazil, Argentina, the MLS and the
J-League have all seen football action this summer.
What are the odds United win the Premier League even if they don't sign Sneijder? Derek
McGovern's Bets of the Day
Only one thing could depress me more than the thought of the football season not kicking off on
Saturday. And that's if Wesley Sneijder were to join Manchester United.
