This is likely to end up on some end of the year Best Of lists for football photos and
the like, along with someone in the Bundesliga making a nice tackle and John Terry barking orders
in the rain soaked evening.

A flurry of late goals saw Chelsea rack up an impressive scoreline against Championship paupers
Portsmouth at Stamford Bridge, with Juan Mata sticking away Florent Malouda's cut-back just after
half-time before Ramires (85th and 87th minutes) and Frank Lampard (93rd) padded out the rout as
the clock dwindled down to nowt.

On the 13th of July 2011, photographer Joe Armao and video journo Dave Pavlich combined their
superpowers and endeavoured to capture the friendly game between Melbourne Victory and Celtic at
AAMI Park Melbourne using a mix of time-lapse video and tilt-shift photography (a camera/focus
trick that makes everything look like a model village).

Old friend Eddie Johnson's had a spot of bother. Never mind that though I like the caption
above: "local soccer pro Eddie Johnson kicks a soccer ball". Which is a) delightfully
descriptive, b) not necessarily correct (he's heading it, isn't he?) and c) just nice anyway. It
would be good if all football photos had such captions.
On my new Tumblr blog, called Loving That Soccer, I recently posted a picture of Kaka wearing the
Adidas Real Madrid home kit for next season. While there have always been rumours and leaked images
of possible designs of the Real Madrid kit, there were never concrete images to prove anything.
The new kit features pretty snazzy gold designs on the jersey, shorts, and socks along with the
Adidas logo being golden.
The Argentinian Football Association (AFA) presented today Argentina's new kit, to be used in
Copa America. The home kit is quite nice, the away not at all. Messi is looking rather nice
though...
