Sunder, Sunder, SUNDERLAND, HO! - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Ever since I saw the scoreline for Sunderland's win against Norwich yesterday, the above title
has been ringing around in my head. There's always the uplifting effect that a new manager has on
the club and yes, many of the mid-table clubs in the Premier League haven't fared too well of late,
but Sunderland's sustained success in the last couple of months is heartening.
How To Choose Your Ideal Bundesliga Club - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Are you new to German football, and attracted to the much-lauded mix of exciting end-to-end
football, standing fans, cheap beer and cheap tickets, not to mention the chance to watch football
in a country where the national team can actually amount to something come crunch time?
On this side of the Atlantic, the football news that received quite a bit of attention over past
few days was Friday's FA Cup tie between Everton and Fulham, featuring Clint "Hat Trick" Dempsey,
Landon Donovan, and Tim Howard. Everton won, and as SI.com put it,
Landon Donovan etched his name further into Everton lore with two assists in the
Toffees' FA Cup victory over Fulham.

United.

While Neymar and everybody else thinks Lionel Messi is the best player in the world, you have
Cristiano Ronaldo voting for himself, Messi-haters voting for Xavi and Xavi himself voting for Paul
Scholes (which, in a nutshell, tells you all there is to say about 'votes').
If you are ever planning a party, don't invite Uruguay. They famously scuppered Brazil's World Cup

perhaps even Tottenham Hotspur.

Sunday's afternoons clash at the Stadio Bentegodi was billed as the most important game of the
season so far and one of the most important in the stuttering career of Domenico Di Carlo the
Gialloblu Coach. Coming on the back of three straight defeats and a run of five games without a
win, the pressure was mounting on the former Sampdoria Coach.
A few words from the editor It is with great pleasure I welcome back Stuart Harper after a recent
absence to the pages of Serie A Weekly. Stuart has been one of our best received writers during the

tifosi feel the same it is hard to say, but for this particular Romanista, watching Roma this year.
Lionel Messi's 202 Goals For Barcelona In 12 Minutes - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
All of Messi's 202 goals scored for Barcelona (2005-2011), in a simple, no-frills video. After
the constant adulation, it is still ridiculous how good is really is.
Of course, when you're playing with the likes of Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Henry and Iniesta, it gets a
bit easier.
As football news goes, it's pretty vanilla, but making red cards in the box a more rare
occasion, leaving goalkeepers more leeway to explore their more rambunctious selves in and around
the general ankle region of attackers.
There's also apparently a rule which says no image but that one to the left can be used in a
story on red cards on a football-related site.

Failure to beat Cagliari on the season's opening game served to make Roma's trip to Inter a
considerably more daunting prospect. Normally, both a clean sheet and an accompanying San Siro
point would have been considered a profitable raid to the north, but in retrospect, Enrique was
left to rue his team's bewildering inability to score.
Arsene Wenger has responded to his critics by stating his intentions to remain at Arsenal for
the long-term following his side's 3-1 Carling Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town last night.
The Gunners – who are currently 17th in the Premier League after a shocking start to the

Oxlade-Chamberlain and Yossi Benayoun rescued the home side.

Twitter was abuzz with rumour and counter-rumour regarding the human resource situation at
football clubs up and down the country.
Ducky's Note: Long-time Manc Sai Adithya tries his best to make something
