The prestigious International Consulting firm Deloitte has released its yearly study of the World
Football Clubs with highest income generation for season 2010-2011. For the third year running both
REAL MADRID CF & FC BARCELONA lead the list of top income generating Clubs. The tendency is that FC
Barcelona has experienced a jump in income that has to do with their "winning ways", Global brand
Chelsea published their accounts yesterday and revealed that Chelsea had to pay £28m on "changes
in the first team management structure" by sacking Carlo Ancelotti and hiring Andre Villas-Boas as
his replacement which is just insane.
In addition to this, Football Finance Analyst Andy Green has calculated that Chelsea and Roman
Abramovich have paid out around £64m in the last four years on managerial changes alone!
When questions about your football club are raised in Westminster and the Prime Minister agrees
that the situation needs investigation then you know you are in a bad way. Not because you might be
investigated but because the Prime Minister actually knows what Penny Mordaunt, MP for Portsmouth
North, is talking about.
Three days on, that stamp is still the major talking point in football, dominating the backpages
and sports leads. Not that it was a stamp, of course. Poor Mario has been cruelly victimised by
referees. I realise English isn't his first language but he really has to get to grips with what
'victimised' actually means, as opposed to ‘stay on the pitch and score the crucial winning goal
that could lead to the league title'.
So, Fantasy Football Owner is being played at Pompey yet again. Against a background of a HMRC
winding up order for two months unpaid PAYE a total of £1.6m the familiar dance of chancers,
secret consortia and mad millionaires continues. Yet no serious candidate has emerged. The
transfer window advances towards slamming point and all our promising new manager, Mike Appleton,
can do is manipulate a-one-in-one-out situation with our expensive but depleted eighteen man
squad.
If the "news filtration" out by Spanish Sports Barcelona based paper "Sport" is correct, FC
BARCELONA fans should begin saving their money for the new uniform that will be official next
season: 2012-2013. Below is an image/s of the new design/s that signals that if you just forked out
90€-110€ for the current uniform, you will be shortly "old school".
2011 has been a very exciting in football and a lot has happened in the marketing of football. Here
is a quick summary of the main news and analysis of the business of football.
An anaemic economy, nostalgic fans and onerous planning laws are all proving tough obstacles for
soccer clubs hoping to increase income with new state-of-the-art stadiums. A trio of London-based
Premier League clubs formed more than 100 years ago - Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Queens Park
Rangers - are among those with plans for new homes.
Its a form of 'Pass the Parcel'. A crowd of Russian, Israeli, Hungarian, Hong Kong and even
British businessmen sit in a darkened room and spin poor old Pompey around until it ends up in the
hands of one or more of them. The holder then has to keep it going until he finds an exit strategy.
Then it goes back on the table with the same players and gets spun around again.
Its getting to the point where Pompey fans are wondering if there is some kind of Karmic force
coming to a head in the City. Something to do with all those Crusaders who set sail from there back
in the middle ages perhaps? Because the tally of owners of ill-repute the club has had over the
last 20 years is growing to epic proportions.
Italian Sports paper "La Gazetta dello Sport" yesterday published the list of Top money
generating Clubs in World Football. The top two are SPANISH FOOTBALL Clubs & Spanish Sports paper
"Marca" has taken the report & published it today in their edition. REAL MADRID C.F is the Football
Club with most income ( generated by Football & its various spin-off activities) in the World,
ahead of FC
So you just forked out around 90€ that you have been saving for the last three months to grab the
Spanish National Football Team shirt & it looks great. Well, you are now "old school" as there is a
new version that will debut next 12th of November when the current FIFA World Champions SPAIN
travel to ENGLAND for a International Friendly.
The 2011/12 football season is revolutionary in more ways than one. Not only are we seeing the rise
of the next great Manchester United team under the stewardship of Sir Alex Ferguson, and not
only...

Found this interesting "Infograph" on the most expensive transfers for 2011, & thought you maybe
interested. There is a SPANISH FOOTBALL connection with departures ( Aguero to Man City) & arrivals
( Falcao to At Madrid , Coentrao to Real Madrid & Cesc Fabregas to Barça). By the way, while on
the transfer angle, rumours are that REAL MADRID has "shut" NEYMAR for 60M€ plus a 7M€ salary /

By Tony Attwood Here's two things: the world of football finance could be turned upside down
later this year; and I want you to buy two things at the Emirates this Saturday if you are there.
An odd combination you will think but there is a link. One reason to go shopping is to buy

In the second article of this ongoing analysis, I compare Liverpool's wage-spend with Arsenal's
over the last 10 years.

How much has Liverpool spent on wages over the last decade compared to other top Premier League
clubs? In the first article of this new series, I compare the club with Manchester United to see if
a higher wage bill really is the secret to league-winning success.

This weekend the saga of Trust ownership at Wrexham extends. Plymouth Argyle struggle to find an
ownership solution to coming out of administration. In the tales of duplicity and ineptness that
abound behind these stories, the arguments in favour of the Supporters Trust movement are
strengthened. Supporters' Direct have made clear and cogent arguments that substantiate these
arguments in their recent briefing papers.
With football financial fair play rules on he horizon a warning once again has been sent out to
football clubs about the potential financial disaster awaiting those who don't curb their wild
spending.
A new report by José María Gay de Liébana - football finance specialist at the University of
Barcelona - this month warns a "football bubble crash" across Europe if clubs don't start acting
responsibly.
As 1983 drew to a close, Everton Football Club was in a state of crisis. On New Years Eve, with
just over 13,500 people rattling around Goodison Park like marbles in a tin box, they played out a
dismal goalless draw against Coventry City which was seen by the nation that night on Match Of The
Day.
SPANISH FOOTBALL is dominated by REAL MADRID. At least in the economic & financial league according
to the prestigious Financial magazine Forbes . The American source published its "TOP 50 World
Most Valuable Teams" List for 2011. Although the list highlights Teams from all types of Sports
around the globe, a Football Club dominates the list at Number 1, that is English Football Club
MANCHESTER
With everybody now seemingly on Twitter, it is difficult to know who is worth following especially
if you're looking for decent football opinions. So it is that I've tried to compile a list of the
best people out there who are well worth following. Be warned, however that as a rule I tend not to
follow player - do they ever have anything really of interest to say?
Past celebrations for Blackpool - but how will they cope back in the Championship?
As news broke today that the Premiership has once again generated record income (breaking the
£2 BILLION barrier), it got me thinking about how this money would be received lower down the
leagues. The Championship is supposedly a bigger league than Serie A, drawing larger audiences and
seeing more goals, and with ex-Premier League teams with big catchment areas such as Leeds,
Southampton, and Nottingham Forest, this is hardly much of a surprise.
The proportion of income that Premier League clubs spend on wages hit a record 68% in 2009-10, a
report into football finances by Deloitte says.
The collective turnover of the English Premier League clubs hit a record £2.03 billion in the
2009-10 season and is expected to exceed £2.2 billion in the 2010-11 campaign, according to
Deloitte Sports Business Group's 20th Annual Review of Football Finance. In comparison, the total
European football market grew to a record £13.

Like a moth to the flame, we are often drawn to commenting on the shadowy underbelly of
football culture. Whether because it is under-reported, overlooked, or generally swept aside,
issues of football finance, supporter tension over club directives, or the vagaries of rules
administration provide ample fodder for analysis and debate.
Liverpool FC owner John Henry has rejoined one of the world's most exclusive clubs.
After a year's absence Mr. Henry has made a comeback into Forbes annual list of world dollar
billionaires. His return to the prestigious ranking is directly attributed by Forbes to his
acquisition last year of the Anfield club.

You could frame it. If you wanted a short, pithy representation of all that has been wrong with
football finance in 2010, you could do no better than quote a Plymouth Argyle fan
known as "Sensible Surfer" on the BBC Football website over the Christmas period. "Ridsdale set to
take control.
