Okay, I know, 3 posts in one day is a bit excessive. But one was part of a planned thing, the
other was new injury news, and there are several things here that I thought you find
interesting.
First, and most importantly, Kieran Gibbs did not break his foot, only suffered brusing, and is
expected to be back and ready for action against Chelsea on the 29th.

Today, October 25th, is the fifteenth anniversary of the second and most famous of the three
appearances of Brian Potter's senior football career, and this site has very kindly indulged me by
allowing me to write a tribute to the great man. You've almost certainly never heard of him, and
mention of his name usually makes people think of Peter Kay, but no, it's not that one.

I have said it before and I will say it again. Lionel Messi is flat out the best player in all
of the world. End of the discussion.Â

Saturday's Bundesliga action coincided with the 19th anniversary of Germany's reunification,
which conveniently is also the country's national holiday albeit without lethal fireworks or
military parades. To celebrate the event Berlin went all out artsy with some megalomaniac
puppeteering, while the Bundesliga chose a more pragmatic approach, by retelling the the events
through football over 90 minutes.

Until recently, Sol Campbell had spent the whole of his football career at the top level of
English football. A product of Lilleshall and the Spurs youth academy, his previous trips to lower
division grounds had been largely reserved for the early stages of domestic cup competitions. As
such, it is perhaps that he took one look at the glaring reality of football in League Two and
decided that perhaps it wasn't worth all the effort.

I came across a Fox Sports Australia article about Robbie Fowler scoring goals again in the
A-League. That got me thinking about the contrast in the twilight football career of Fowler and
Beckham.
Robert Bernard Joseph Fowler, now aged 34, turned professional in 1992 started his football career
in Liverpool.

After scoring his first of the season against Fulham on Sunday, Nicolas Anelka has gone on record
to say all good things about Chelsea and his affection for the club. Anelka had a reputation of "Le

to club during his football career.

It's a lovely morning here in South London, a fine day for the serious business ahead.
Fulham are without Johnson (A), but also perhaps Dickson Etuhu, whose groin may have been behind
his early withdrawal on Thursday.   This could see all kinds of things happen: Chris Baird,
Jonathan Greening, or something else.

Ryan Giggs has probably enjoyed the best football career ever, with his only disappointment
being Wales' failure to compete on an international stage. He has played more games for Manchester
United player than anyone ever, he's won eleven league titles, two European Cups, four FA Cups, two
League Cups, amongst others, and just last season was named the PFA Player of the Year, seventeen
years after he won the PFA Young Player of the Year.

It is a story more familiar with the big screen and the football movie ‘Goal' but 22-year-old

Fusion, in the US Premier Development League, to English Premier League side Everton.
The route from the fourth tier of US football to arguably the toughest league in Europe is not a
well worn path but does show that hard work and application can be rewarded.

Inside Left 07 July @ 04:45 PM EST
On the day French striker Marc-Antoine Fortune (finally) signs at Celtic, Inside Left takes a
look at another Celtic striker from days gone by - the great Jimmy McGrory.
In the days when football was considerably more physical than it is today, it's almost
impossible to believe that a player who stood only 5ft 6in could be not only his clubs greatest
ever goal scorer, but also - to this day - Britain's top goal scorer of all time.

Kyel Reid : Appearances - 0 (2), Goals - 1
I am sure that Kyel Reid is a tremendously nice human being who doesn't staple
vagrants to horses, but as far as his football career goes, he is essentially a mollusc.
Perhaps his biggest defect is his inability to cross the ball, which despite afflicting every
England left winger since John Barnes, is invariably not a positive attribute.

Y'know, there's nothing wrong with the US National Team that forced loyalty oaths wouldn't cure. If
we had forced Ferdinando Rossi to change his name to Fred Ross at Ellis Island like we did back in
the good old days, we hand Italy their asses yesterday. It's those Red agitators, I tell you.
I don't know if it's necessarily infallible as a way of telling loyalty, but the worse the English
is on the player's official website, the less likely it is that the player in question is going to
be wearing our beloved anthracite.
