Portsmouth Football Club have been hit with yet another punch as the threat of administration
looms – with manager Michael Appleton stating he is ‘ready for a points deduction.'
But is a points deduction really fair on Portsmouth Football Club?
Pompey's recent dogged luck has been created by individuals who were inadequate to run the football
club and a controversial system in which they were appointed: the so called Fit and Proper Person's
Test.
The 2012 January transfer window was a rather more sedate affair than it's 2011 predecessor.
Money was spent much more sensibly this time around as opposed to being thrown around like a
compulsive gambler who had hacked into a free bets website.
Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez did not get a move away from the Etihad and Manchester
United did not break the bank to sign Wesley Sneijder.
There was a lack of real excitement during the final day of the 2012 January Transfer Window,
with none of the Premier League's big names on the move and a subsequent drop in spending from the
same day 12 months ago means the latest transfer window closed without much of a noise.
The speculation that ran wild from Sky Sports News reporters situated at Premier League grounds
became boring with attention being finally turned to actual fixtures that took place on the
night.
Many fans were hoping for early activity from the Gunners in the transfer market, especially to
bolster the defence, but things have largely been quiet. Given that Ferguson had to go back to Paul
Scholes and Chelsea are taking so long over the Cahill deal, one can assume this is going to be, at
best, a tricky month for football business.
Is your little soccer player hoping to grow up and go to the World Cup – not as a spectator
but as a player? If so, nutrition is important. Because soccer is a high-endurance sport, it is
essential that you and your child learn as much as you can about proper nutrition, and how best to
fuel up before the big game.
The number if Italians plying their trade abroad is steadily increasing. Yet despite this, there
wasn't a single Italian named on the Balon ‘dor short list last week. In one way this isn't
entirely surprising given the common disregard Serie A is held in nowadays. Since the hey-day of
the last 80′s early 90's, financial resources of Italian Serie A clubs have decreased
significantly.
Bet it will be easier for a young English born Indian/Pakistani footballer to get into the India or
Pakistani national team than it has been for a similar kid to make progress in cricket in the
UK.
Interesting times in Asia for football.

Federation, will promote football to over 2 million of their countries' compatriates and their

Arsenal made a profit last year, despite a drop in property sales (because we had already sold most
of Highbury Square) and despite buying buy not selling players. The operating profit (before
exceptional costs, depreciation and player trading) in the football business was £45.8 million

The e-mail account of Spanish Football Sports is almost collapsed by readers around the World
asking why I am not posting on the after shock-wave effects, or stating an opinion about the FC
BARCELONA - REAL MADRID brawl & Mourinho "eye-poke" incident during the Spanish Super Cup last
week. Why? Because everyone has already voiced an opinion, the majority from their own "coloured"
glasses
Many would say Barcelona could not get any stronger following the way they despatched of
Manchester United in the 2010/11 Champions League final at Wembley. Perhaps they just have with the
acquisition of Serie A's best player, Alexis Sanchez of Udinese.
Parting with £23million for the Chilean's services, the Catalan giants could end up paying a
further £10million in add-ons.
Oh this football business is so confusing. So much information. So many assertions and
exclusives.

More and more sports teams continue to allow younger players into their professional ranks.
That's good for individual sports franchises in a couple of ways. Everybody loves to see a young
kid shine on the field and compete well against older, more experienced players. It makes us feel
good because it appeals to the side of us that root for the underdog.
