The days when football was played simply for the love of representing a cherished team seems to
have gone. When players received their hard-earned wage they deserved every penny and the fans
respected them for it. Now, players have continued to ask for extortionate amounts which the
average working person would be ecstatic about; football has obviously lost its purpose and no
longer can be seen as a working man's game.
Now if you criticise Capital Football in Canberra you get chastised but sometimes someone needs to
voice what many voices are saying.
What are the priorities for Capital Football going forward?
Let's start with the girls/women. The number one focus for Capital Footbal over the last few years
- and seemingly into the future.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Barclays Premier League, the manager's voted for
their "Team of the Decade". It was no surprise to see the selection dominated by 6 Manchester
United players with the others representing Chelsea, Liverpool and Newcastle.

Might I be so bold as to venture that the club were injecting him with his own recycled piss,
such was its combination of nutrients and boozeohol that down the years it had developed into a
kind of elixir?
For the last two decades or so, the entire financial model of professional English football has
been based upon on fundamental source of income television money. Ticket prices have increased, of
course, but the main driving force behind the wage inflation within the game has come from vastly
increased amounts of money coming into the game from the sale of television rights.

The Football League has announced the final shortlists ahead of The Football League Awards 2011
with the release of the nominations for the npower Player of the Year in each division, The
Football League Young Player of the Year and EA SPORTS Outstanding Team Performance awards.
