Colorado Soccer Now | News and commentary about soccer in Colorado 12 September @ 01:33 AM EST

DENVER — Now that's how to break in a new stadium.

The University of Denver men's soccer team sent an overflow crowd home happy as Alex Tarnoczi scored 3 minutes, 4 seconds into overtime in a 2-1 victory over Dayton on Saturday.

The game was the first for the men's team at Pioneer Field, built just to the west of the Ritchie Center.

A non-footie rumination on the eve of the season starting

Fantasy EPL 14 August @ 07:01 PM EST
So, as a native of the Philadelphia area here in the US I'm confronted with something of a dilemma. Growing up in Philadelphia you are generally brought up with a healthy (and some would say unhealthy) bit of mania for the local professional sports teams across all major American sports. As a kid who played just about every sport available growing up and growing up in an era (late 70s and early 80s) when all of the local teams were challenging for championships I formed life-long attachments to my teams - the Phillies in baseball (that's the defending World Series champion Phillies I might add); the 76ers in basketball; the Flyers in hockey; and the Eagles in football (our version). Adebayor's loyalty + Rosicky's return and news round-up

Arseblog 18 July @ 04:03 AM EST

On the day pre-season begins the Adebayor saga rumbles on.

The Mirror says the deal was 'completed' last night but there are complications as Adebayor is holding out for a 'loyalty bonus' because he never asked for a transfer. I don't really need to talk about how incredibly dense that is, do I?

Video: The Carding of Vancouver

The Offside Rules 26 May @ 10:42 AM EST
I like this. It's kind of in the same vein as the scarfing in Seattle but geared more toward the "discovery" phase of the team as opposed to the "investment" phase. Even if people don't know what they mean, they know what cards are; definitely a good way to stand out from the other yahoos out there flinging flyers. Click to continue reading...

Twin Valley Flyers Rule!

JordanCornblog 09 March @ 06:55 AM EST
Congratulations to the Twin Valley Flyers Peewee Hockey Team on winning the NH State Championship yesterday afternoon, defeating Back Bay in OT to take the trophy.  (And it was our own Mo, of March Madness fame, who tipped in the winning goal!)  Well done, Flyers - and thanks for an exciting weekend of great hockey [. “It was like a playoff game” - Sabres 3, Flyers 2

The Other Football 22 December @ 12:18 PM EST
So said Sabres coach Lindy Ruff tonight at HSBC Arena, as the Philadelphia Flyers came to town. The hype meter was off the wall, as former Sabres Martin Biron and Daniel Briere were making their first return to Buffalo since their departures last season. Both received warm applause during the warmups and intros, but the adulation [. Click to continue reading...
