Spain doesn't just rule the world in soccer, but they're also champions in Subbuteo, the table soccer game that has long been a tradition in England and around the world. In this 30 minute documentary entitled "Can You Flick It?...

Martin Skrtel was responsible for three of the four goals scored today at Anfield in an
engrossing match. Liverpool went ahead as Skrtel attacked a corner throwing himself at the ball and
absolutely buried the ball past Joe Hart.
In the second half, Roberto Mancini introduced Jack Rodwell which allowed Yaya Toure to roam up
front.
It's an interesting question and one that many people have been asking since the trade was
announced a few days ago. Fact is that, despite the Portland Timbers being full up on strikers,
we'll almost definitely see Danny Mwanga play a huge role in the team from this moment on. But just
how will he fit it?
After a disappointing summer transfer window for the Serie A, looking around at the possible
contenders for the scudetto, it's evident that this season's race will have a few surprises in
store. Teams like AC Milan, have lost many key players and weren't able to replace them properly,
and others like Juventus and Inter just weren't able to clinch that world class player signing
which could've helped set them definitively above the rest.
The French raced out to a 2-0 lead within the first fifteen minutes, and it looked as if the
Olympic jitters may have set the US back a bit. Once the team settled down, they looked more like
the USWNT that we have come to expect. Abby Wambach opened the USA scoring with a header from a
Megan Rapinoe corner kick service in the 18th minute.
Sporting KC took care of business at home last night, earning themselves their fourth trip in five
years to the US Open Cup quarterfinals. Unfortunately in none of those other 3 years has KC been
able to win their quarterfinal match up. On June 26th against Dayton, KC will have the opportunity
to break that cycle.
Time to live up to the Gunner name by TS So its no surprise this morning when you flick through the
newspapers or watch the media, that everyone is talking about Arsenal's draw with Stoke. As usual,
some players did well, others had a bad game. We all know who was who and this article [...]
Hey guess who? I was sitting on the ground from a workout and thinking of the Arsenal and what's
in store for the season and realized that I really wanted to have a forum to place lay out all my
thoughts. This is when I realized I had promised Lachlan that I was going to search for my password
to writing blogs here for him and the gang that have dutifully picked up where I and the others
left off.
Two odious characters: The pugilistic Usmanov and the insipid, colourless Kroenke
Normally anything that Alisher Usmanov, the Uzbeki oligarch would have to say about Arsenal
could be dispatched with a flick of the head. But what he said about Van Persie sums up the state
of affairs in the Arsenal boardroom which is there is no state of affairs under the majority
ownership of Stan Kroenke, who remains a cipher, a zombie wheeled out at various points of the year
to parrot out a boilerplate script.
The Dynamo went to El Salvador and all they got was a lousy t-shirt...and three points! Goals
from Brian Ching, Cam Weaver and Je-Vaughan Watson led Houston over C.D. FAS 3-1.
The switch back to a 4-4-2 formation led to a near dream first half for the Dynamo with goals
from Ching and Weaver.
Following a 1-2 loss at home on Thursday the Demize traveled to St Louis on Saturday for the
second of their two games against the in-state rival. They earned a point in the 1-1 draw via the
goal by their captain, Gerard Barbero. Barbero made a nice run at the back post where he volleyed
home Colin Elmrich's flick-on from a Demize corner kick.
The Portland Timbers rolled out a modified 4-5-1 and actually looked decent going forward.
However none of the chances actually created a goal and in the end it cost Portland the game.
Chivas USA scored the only goal of the game past the hour mark. 1-0 loss.
First Half
Brent Richards was rewarded with his first start of his career and Portland played Darlington
Nagbe and Diego Chara played the attacking base in an inverted pyramid in the center.
Megan Rapinoe had yet another great game in the 2012 Olympics. She had one assist and one goal
in the match against Colombia today. In a match that was chippy and uneven, Rapinoe was able to
focus and carry the match. It seemed as if the Colombian's game plan was to disrupt and slow the
game any chance they got.
So I have the joy of writing the post match for a game one of our beloved readers labelled as
"b-o-r-i-n-g". I could probably sum this match up in just a few words, but that's not exactly my
style, now is it? Read on after the jump for my half-asleep analysis and opinions. You know you
want to.
Jose Villarreal scored twice as Pateadores won the 2011 U-17/18 Development Academy
championship last year
A year ago, Jose Villarreal was scoring goals for Pateadores as his Academy club earned the 2011
U-17/18 Development Academy championship with a 2-1 win against FC Dallas in Milwaukee.
Sometimes, this part of the report is written before a match in a vain attempt to build towards
some kind of atmosphere, as someone who's reliving the "match-day experience" or whatever that
could possibly mean in MLS(E) land. But tonight, there will be no pre-match set-up beyond the
following : Toronto mediocre, everyone else better, wonder how the hell a team six seasons on is
still this crap.
The Euro 2012 group stage is in the books, and Czech Republic, Greece, Germany, Portugal, Spain,
Italy, England and France are the eight teams left standing prior to Thursday's opening match of
the quarterfinals.
Before looking ahead to the remaining teams, though, there were a number of individual moments
that stood out during what was a memorable group stage that deserve another look.
Great game. We had everything. There was a goofy looking Andy Carroll sighting, several goal lead
changes and England came back to win off of perhaps the goal of the tourney, a backheel flick from
Walbeck. Video: footyroom

Wesley Sneijder celebrates his birthday on Saturday, and will mark the occasion by playing for his
country in their opening Euro 2012 game against Denmark. One would imagine that he will be keen to
celebrate the day with a goal, but one suspects that his amazing flick goal in training was not a
preparation for [.

Full-time: A richly entertaining game ruined only by the wonky shooting of
Kerzakhov. Russian were brilliant with the ball, yet strangely prone to lapses of interest, which
could cost them against better opposition.

Okay, here's where I brag: Hell, yes, this match was a dive fest, as anticipated. I stopped
counting genuflection after, oh, I don't know...three...because it wasn't silly-looking
anymore.
Manchester City proved they had the best team in the Premier League last season, and their
coaches show that they are not bad themselves.
Filmed at an open training session in the Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur ahead of
Manchester City's game against a Malaysia XI. The Blue's coaching staff are involved in a 5-a-side
game where assistant coach David Platt rolls back the years with an exquisite overhead bicycle
kick.
Greetings all in SB Nation, and welcome to Poetry Corner Kicks. In this space, you'll get a
rather unique take on the events of the previous Union game.
A recap done in poetry might sound a bit strange, but for a Union fan who happens to enjoy
poetry, these are not the strangest of bedfellows.
With the busy schedule that Sporting KC in the middle of currently it's no surprise that the lineup
that KC put out tonight was less than the full squad. It gave rest to a number of players that
needed it, and gave game time to those that hadn't been getting a lot. The starting lineup for KC
against Montpellier featured a number of players who have played little part in KC's league season
so far this year as they rested the likes of Kei Kamara, Teal Bunbury, Matt Besler, and Seth
Sinovic, with Kevin Ellis, Korede Aiyegbusi, Dom Dwyer, and others stepped in to get some action
against the French champs.
The bee's knees wish they could be Neymar. He's just phenomenal, even if Pele is serving as his
personal hypeman and doing most of the work for him. However, he's also a bit of diver. Quite a
bit. And he enjoys flinging himself in the air, even when there's no contact. Which he actually
paid for with this little dive by slapping his ankle off the turf.
Uruguay shrugged off controversy surrounding their opening goal to seal a thrilling 4-2 win over
Peru in their World Cup qualifier on Sunday.
The win lifted Copa America holders Uruguay into second place in the South American group, a
point behind leaders Chile and one ahead of Argentina, while Ecuador's win in Quito saw them climb
to fourth.
It's almost a quarter of a century since the Republic of Ireland made their debut in
international tournament football, when a first round exit in the European Championships was
ameliorated somewhat by the pleasure of beating England in the group stages. Since then Ireland
have reached the quarter-finals of the World Cup finals twice, but 1988 has proved to be the
country's sole appearance in the finals of the European Championships until this time around.
