Sack Vanderlei Luxemburgo or part ways with Ronaldinho? That was the choice Flamengo president
Patricia Amorim had to make yesterday as she picked the star player over the 59 year old
tactician.
It is not quite certain why Luxemburgo was sacked, however, many believe that his icy
relationship with Ronaldinho was a major factor that led to his dismissal.
Though Ronaldinho hasn't been paid in months, a new deal has been reached to ensure he gets what
he's owed, he's still training with Flamengo and still focused on getting results for the club. And
as Flamengo head into the second leg of their Copa Libertadores tie trailing Real Potosi (who share
a ground with Nacional Potosi, of recent scorpion kick fame) 2-1, Ronaldinho was
uncharacteristically serious in training on Tuesday.

To commemorate his jinky goal against Flamengo winning the 2011 Puskas Award for Goal of the
Year recently, 19-year old Neymar has been immortalised with an exhibition in the
Santos club museum a display which includes this rather handsome/hideously ugly <delete as
applicable> tin statue of the Brazilian urchin himself, complete with a razor-sharp mohawk which
is presumably fabricated from old Fanta cans.

First he was great and thin then fat and great and now Gaucho is back to looking like his old
self. For those who thought dinho's best days were behind him, guess again.
The 31 year old has lost more than 80kgs (or so i could be wrong) to get back to his lean
physique and if you don't believe me, take a look at these pictures.
It's that time of the year again when local pride is at stake in the numerous state
championships which are prevalent in the opening months of the Brazilian football calendar. From
Amapá in the far north to Rio Grande do Sul in the south, from Acre in the west to ParaÃba in the
far east of the country, twenty seven regions of Brazil will be involved in their own local
championship, mixing the big boys with the smaller village teams, with each club hoping to win
their respective title and qualify for a place in next year's edition of the national cup, Copa
Brazil.
It's Christmas week... la semana de Navidad! In the Premiership,
however, life goes on for Kun Aguero and co', who scored in City's 3-0 victory
over Aston Villa last night. Kun scored a brace, and the goal celebrations had
everything except Dani Alves' brilliant Santa hat.

Universidad de Chile made club history last night by reaching their first ever continental final
in South America. The Chilean champions defeated Brazilian giants Vasco da Gama in last night's
Copa Sudamericana semi-final 2nd leg by two goals to nil and, thus, went through 3-1 on
aggregate.
Gustavo Canales and Eduardo Vargas were on hand to score the goals for Universidad who became
the first Chilean team to reach a major final of a South American club competition since Colo Colo
played in the final of the Sudamericana in 2006.

If you've read the Ronaldinho-highlight-reel-related news these past days, it's possible you're
still suffering the painful ramifications of bleach in one's eyes. Things ain't exactly what they
used to be.
For those of us who choose to remember Dinho at his best or with pants on he had a little fun at
training over the weekend, offering up his special skills.
Former Barcelona and AC Milan star Ronaldinho who now plays for Brazilian club Flamengo has not
been paid for the last 4 months and according to his brother who also doubles up as his agent,
Gaucho is starting to lose patience with the club.
It is known the exact amount Dinho is paid every week, but it is believed to be in the region of
£95,000.

This week was full of funny and strange incidents, that I think worth assigning a full post for
them.
I will start by a very stupid unintentional behavior by this player:
And thanks to cameras to uncover many of players deceiving behaviors of like Aurélien Chedjou from

Brazil go in search of a win against Cuba
Brazil's U-20s are in action again this evening when they take on Cuba in the Estádio Omnilife
in Guadalajara. Brazil go into their Group B match after drawing 1-1 with Argentina earlier this
week. Cuba lost their opener 1-0 to Costa Rica.
Brazil coach Ney Franco's team are without their captain, Romário, who was sent off vs
Argentina.
Who doesn't love Chilean football right now? After Marcelo Bielsa revolutionized the national
side, it's a hotbed for good viewing and high-quality scouting. And now, apparently for putting too
much stock in one game. Almost literally.
Universidad de Chile beat Flamengo on Wednesday in the Copa Sudamericana the South American
equivalent of the Europa League.
No guesses on that which Flamengo will be practicing exclusively this week in training.
Three point-blank headers on goal. No goals. Somehow. It's alarmingly more impressive in its
failure than it would were a goal to actually be scored.

With Flamengo coming into the game on the back of a ten-game winless slump, defender Junior
Cesar attempted a bit of sock-based jiggery-pokey to try and prevent America Mineiro from taking
early lead from the penalty spot on Wednesday evening.
Sadly, it didn't work.
You know you've made it when the boy with the slick
Cristiano hairdo (upper right) squashes his forehead and nose into the window of
the bus you're in... just for a glimpse of you! Nevermind that he isn't doing his magic for
Flamengo, it's Ronaldinho one of Brazil's favourite prodigal sons!
São Paulo forward, Henrique, who was voted the U-20 World Cup's best player in Colombia
Ney Franco has called up 18 players for the Pan-American games in Mexico. Brazil are in Group B
and will kick off their campaign versus Argentina on 19th October. They then face Cuba on 21st and
Costa Rica two days later.

One of the most beautiful things in football is when you see an old superstar started to regain
some of his peak. Things we seen in Romario in the 1997, Zizou in 2006 and now seems we are seeing
the return of the magician, Ronaldinho,
After a strong return to Flamengo and some wonderful goal, especially the last week when Ronaldinho
scored directly from corner kick,
now, he played a great game for Brazil vs.
It's official two time FIFA World Player of the Year, seemingly consigned to football's has-been
pile after five years at the Camp Nou theatre, announed his return to the big time in the rather
less inspiring surroundings of Fulham's Craven Cottage. Granted, the opposition was Ghana, not one
of football's big hitters, and granted they were down to ten men, but the touches and vision of the
former master were there to see.
Ronaldinho performed well versus Ghana. Brazil want more of the same vs Argentina
