Philadelphia Union fans have been dealt heavy blows of late. Their veteran goalkeeper was sent away
and within days, the face of their franchise was traded away and not to the glamour of the English
Premier League. Rather, Sebastien Le Toux is finding his way up north, to Vancouver.
Officially, Le Toux was let go for allocation money.
Kenny Dalglish has hailed the Liverpool fans that made the trip to Wigan for the support they
showed controversial striker Luis Suarez in his side's 0-0 draw on Wednesday night.
Liverpool had released two club statements since the FA announced Suarez's eight-game ban for
"misconduct" towards Patrice Evra, and the players warmed up in 'Suarez 7' t-shirts as a show of
support.

Djurgården is a sports club in Sweden. Their fans seem to have undergone a long period of
transition, after its most active group organizing tifo displays, Ultras STHLM, fell apart. But new
groups have taken on the mantle, including Ultra Caos Stockholm, who produced the trailer for the
DVD featured above.
The Football Association of Ireland, in association with Three and supporter's group, ‘You Boys
in Green' today (November 4) joined the campaign to encourage fans to ‘Go Green on November
15'.
The campaign aims to encourage fans all over the country to get behind the team by wearing green on
November 15 when Ireland take on Estonia in the second leg of the EURO 2012 Play-off in Aviva
Stadium.

Some time back in June, on some golden and mystical night, benevolent fairies sprinkled magic
soccer dust over greater Kansas City, which was wondrously and instantly transformed into a
fantastic soccer market.
Previously, clearly, it had been a wasteland for our sport. There was precious little love for
the Major League Soccer team there, and until the last couple of years, rarely a day went by when
suggestions weren't floated that soccer in this country would be far better off with Kansas City
erased from the MLS map.
This Saturday October 8, 2011 at 6 PM the United States Men's National team will play a friendly
game against Honduras. We ask all soccer fans in South Florida to show up and support the beautiful
game. Tickets are still available. Be sure to visit ussoccer to get your tickets.
If you want to sit with the American Outlaws and the rest of the supporters they will be in section

Football in Canberra: can it get any worse?
We're desperate for a pathway, a male pathway, and Canberra FC have a chance next Thursday. We wish
them luck, but they don't help themselves or the rest of Canberra Football do they.
Our flagship?
So while they are blaming Capital Football, their supporters (some) are even claiming racial
discrimination (ridiculous), I can only see that they are shooting themselves and the rest of
Canberra football in the foot.
Game notes later - atmosphere at BMO first...The weather helped to set the scene last night at BMO
Field, it was a perfect Toronto in September evening. The wind never picked up off of the lake, the
sky was clear and the temperature was somewhere between balmy and cool. As the sun was setting, I
had made sure to pack a hoodie and a fleece vest, yet they were never needed.
Charlie Davies' apartment walls are covered with Sounders FC banners, scarves and flags — all
with deep significance to the 25-year-old forward.
"You'd almost think I played for the Seattle Sounders because of all the memorabilia I have," he
said, joking, in a phone interview.
The video says pretty much everything one needs to know about the
situation and I don't want to say too much about it myself. The following is a short write up with
some pictures of the tribute to 9/11 victims and America that the Sons of Ben, and other
Philadelphia Union fans, did during the game against he Portland Timbers last night.

...we would've gotten the flags out too, had Iker Casillas chosen to stroll past Kickette HQ in
his Speedo.
What did we do to earn this wondrous good fortune, Kickettes? It clearly wasn't refraining from
drinking for half an hour.
Before the 8/20/2011 Timbers vs. Whitecaps match, the Timbers Army flew hundreds of Portland
flags.

Last season against Vancouver, the Timbers Army opted for a giant Cascadia flag.
If you haven't seen it yet, check out the rest of our Know Your Tifo section.
Toronto has had this unlikeable habit of playing for a few minutes, digging a giant hole then
trying to claw out of said hole. While Sporting KC Lisbon Wizard Comets was an amusing exercise in
drama, it's preferred to just play the whole game properly.
Real Estelí has nothing to lose here.
Being away for two weeks during some work for our new portal, Futbolita.TV does
not mean that we won't be here for you during preseason. We're back and we can't wait to kick this

Hot off the Spanish press (from the newspaper with reporters who are willing to hold your arms
as you are walking on unstable grass conditions: El Mundo Deportivo) is the news that Kun
Aguero's transfer to Man City will be finalized by Wednesday!
Aussie kids at the Gothia opening ceremony. Apparently it was amazing. Sounds it!
The girls and the boys team from Woden Valley got to walk out with their Aussie flags and kangaroo
to a crowd of 52,000 - yes that's 52,000.
It was like the Olympics, and here comes Australia!!
Tonight, the Women World Cup 2011 held in Germany will host the Women's World Cup finals, with
Japan and the USA as worthy opponents. Japan, who surprisingly eliminated the German team in the
quarter finals and created a grave crisis for our national team, was the big surprise for the
German audience.
England football team 'could be forced to wear EU flag' Telegraph.
Apparently, the winds of change are blowing through the halls of European governments today with
regard to presenting a more unified stance for sports teams who perform in a European setting.
Plans are afoot from some dumbass Spanish politician to mandate that an EU symbol or flag be
present on every shirt or uniform of EVERY European country.
In conjunction with the Great Singapore Sale, Albirex Niigata FC (Singapore) will be holding the
"Great Albirex Sale" during their upcoming home match against Balestier Khalsa on 28 June 2011.
Visitors at Jurong East Stadium can take the opportunity to purchase a wide range of Albirex
merchandise at special prices, including their black-and-orange RHB Singapore Cup jersey as seen in
their first-round victory over South Melbourne.
3:10 p.m. Well, ok, we're not actually at the Rose Bowl yet. Luis and I decided to be environmental
and carpool to the game and at this moment, we're stuck in the traffic leading to the stadium
parking lots. People are walking past us at a steady clip, going faster than the molasses pace of
the crowded cars.
Football fixtures day.
The day the SPL fixture list for 2011/12 is announced. The SFL schedule is coming out as well.
Who'll try to party poop as Rangers, Dunfermline, Livingston and Arbroath unfurl their championship
flags?
When will the derbies of Edinburgh and Glasgow be scheduled?
What's that you say? How is a 1-0 win ugly? Well, if you watched the game, the US was able to
pull out the win, but most USMNT fans will tell you the performance was a bit disappointing. Panama
shocked everyone by winning group C. Yeah, that's right: if you put money down at the local sports
book on Panama, you might want to go collect your winnings.

At the grand old age of 37 (though we'd swear that he's been 37 for at least the last five
years) and after scoring a million goals in a thousand appearances over two spells at the club,
Boca Juniors' veteran striker Martin Palermo played his last ever game at La Bombonera at the
weekend.
Of course Santo was right. I had had just bought a copy of Archie Thompson's 'What doesn't kill you
makes you stronger.' Santo Caruso, owner of Australia's best specialist football bookshop
'Melbourne Sports Books', reckoned that Archie Thompson was playing in a couple of hours for the
Socceroos against Serbia.
So Everton 2 - 1 Man City and our hoodoo over the billionaire mercenaries continues...Extremely
gratifying given it was Lescott's first return to Goodison.
Also gratifying given how much I detest the faux-zany superfan-wannabe scoring celebration that is
"The Poznan". Honestly, what is that all about?
The first warning flags are that a "phone call from Lithuania" could alter a team sheet in the
Scottish Premier League, but alas, that's precisely what happened at, you guessed it, Hearts.
BBC Scotland has learned that Hearts owner Vladimir Romanov withdrew Marius Zaliukas from
Saturday's match against Rangers in case he was red-carded.
Kenny Dalglish was left frustrated by his Liverpool side's 2-1 defeat to West Brom after going down
to two second half penalties.
Speaking after the game, the Scot called for better communication after being left confused as to
why the penalties were awarded by the linesman.
"The only thing I would say about the penalty kicks is one was given by the referee and the other
by the linesman," Dalglish told Sky Sports.
This weekend my daughter had a right to be a bit baffled. You see, we are a household of red,
white and blue soccer fans. By this I mean we are supporters of the US Men's National Team and
the New England Revolution.
The poor thing often says "Look Dad, a Revolution flag!" Of course, those flags are typically
that of the United States of America.
We football fans are a funny bunch. Most of us have our little idiosyncrasies and superstitions
when it comes to our favourite teams and what we believe will help them win. Some of us have our
lucky pants or can only sit in a certain position while a game's on TV. There are those who go out
of their way to do the same thing for every game even if that means disrupting their normal
life.
Arsenal 2-1 Barcelona
As Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons once said: Oh what a night.
I can't remember anything like it at the Grove. The best match in the five years of ground?
Definitely, indubitably, unarguably. It was unforgettable. I shouted myself hoarse and the Epic
Bundle Counter went off the scale.
By Walter Broeckx 20.45 (our local time) I sit in front of my TV with my sons full of anticipation
for this game. When the players come out I can hear the Emirates full of noise. I see a lightshow
in the stadium. I see thousand Arsenal flags. I send my telepathic thoughts to those 57.000 [...]
Twitter, MLS, a tardy schedule release and some damned clever folks combined to churn out some

Every now and then the digital media world delivers, big time.
The Academies played California's Arsenal FC this morning in the cold drizzle at Starfire, and I
thought I'd swing by to catch the U-18 match, which turned out to be a tale of two halves. It was a
good showing from the homem side, with about 20-30 ECS (complete with drum and some flags) and
about 20 other miscellaneous supporters along the sideline.
It's time to start getting set up, geared up and prepared for this busy soccer year. Time to put up
the banners, pull out those dusty flags and tune those drums.
We will be having our Miami Ultras pre-season planning meeting this Saturday, Feb 5th @ 12pm @
Hollywood Ale House.
We will be talking about this upcoming Strikers season, the 24 Hour Soccer-a-Thon, plus any other
Ultras upcoming events.
This is tifo in the process - you could be the next Section 8 Chicago tifo idol.

When people ask me what 'tifo' is, I tell them it is the ultimate marriage of sport and art.
Watching the U.S.-Chile last night, I couldn't help feeling that we've finally entered the era
of bilingualism in U.S. football. The game was a showcase of new players from both sides, pitting
two teams in the midst of promising and exciting development. (You can read a great analysis the
debates and controversies surrounding Chile's team, and it's coach, by Jeffrey Richey here).
