The Union announced on Monday the signing of 33-year-old Serbian striker Veljko Paunovic.
Paunovic played in the Union reserve's 2–1 loss to DC United on May 16.
Paunovic announced his retirement from professional football in December of 2008 six months
after signing a two-year contract with FK Partizan, the team for which he made his professional
debut at the age of 17.

The first legs of the quarter-finals saw 3 of 4 matches end with large advantages being
