Arsenal's young Japanese maestro Ryo Miyaichi came on for his first Premier League debut for Bolton
today. He played amazingly but I'll talk about that later. Let me give a bit of background
information behind the Gunners latest prodigy. He was signed last January after a successful trial
at Arsenal during the summer of 2010.
After a disappointing start to this calender year, Arsenal were finally able to secure their
first Premier League win of 2012, picking up 3 vital points against Blackburn Rovers in a 7-1
demolition at The Emirates.
Once again, Robin van Persie showed just how important he is to this Arsenal side scoring three
and making two others during a numbingly-cold afternoon in North London.
Sporting Kansas City's quest to repeat as Eastern Conference regular season champions began
today with a 2-1 pre-season victory against the San Jose Earthquakes in the pre-season opener for
both clubs.
Kansas City midfielder Konrad Warzycha delivered the game-winning goal, converting a free kick
to break a 1-1 deadlock.
Arsene Wenger was allegedly seen loading briefcase after briefcase of unmarked bills into each
of the Blackburn players' cars at precisely noon today in every time zone.
The 7-1 home exhibition match between Arsenal and Blackburn in the early kickoff Saturday
contained everything anyone could ask for in a match.

Clint Dempsey hit a second-half hat-trick to lead his Fulham side to an unlikely 5-2 victory over
Newcastle United at Craven Cottage in one of the most eye-catching football scores of the day.
It was a typical case of a game of two halves as Fulham wrestled the initiative from Newcastle
after a one-sided first half.
Come on everybody, channel your inner Piers Morgan. Throw your hands up in the air, aim for the
hills and run with abandon. Just don't forget to unlock your wrists, so that the sprint for the
horizon seems that much more fueled by pure terror. And remember to shrill.
Wayne Rooney, his sidekick hair transplant and his nefarious Mancunian buddies traveled to the
Emirates on Sunday.
Andrei Arshavin has been supported by manager Arsene Wenger after his lazy man-marking and
tackling against Luis Antonio Valencia created Danny Welbeck's match-winning goal in Manchester
United's 2-1 win at Arsenal last night.
Arshavin, who infamously replaced Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to a negative reaction throughout the
Emirates Stadium, has been on the receiving end of tremendous flak for lacking energy in such a
massive fixture.
Arsenal fans who argue that Arsene Wenger should not be sacked can only come up with one reason
"He's our most successful manager ever". Others might also point to his unearthing of talents like
Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira. The theme here? It's all stuff from an increasingly long time
ago.
Several of the top TV markets in the United States won't be showing the first Premier League match

Six years ago to this very day, Theo Walcott signed for Arsenal Football Club at the age of just
16-years old. The teenager, who had set the Football League Championship and the south coast alight
whilst playing for Southampton, was signed by Arsene Wenger just a couple of months before his 17th

I awake from a two-day coma, just in time for the magic of the FA Cup. Provided this magic
includes Romelu Lukaku and, of course, Josh McEachran I'm all in. Bring forth some elaborate

Pepe Reina flubbed what should have been a fairly simple stop off a Sergio Aguero drive.
Liverpool dominated possession thereafter but it was City once again going up through Yaya Toure's

Gerrard and Craig Bellamy were introduced by Kenny Dalglish after an hour and Liverpool looked
more mobile going forward although they failed to look threatening in the final third once

Clint Dempsey found the back of the net in Fulham's draw with Chelsea, while Brad Guzan recorded
his first Premier League clean sheet against Stoke City.
Arsenal missed the chance to go fourth in the Premier League as they were denied by a series of

This Boxing Day was a great one for Arsenal and a fun time for me. Hope you had a joyful
Christmas too. Apologies for the lateness of this post but the whole weekend was just so enjoyable
and engaging, I couldn't find any time before now. Well, I did find some time but then Sachin came
on to bat and took up the best part of the last two hours.

Manchester United took a big step towards their 20th league title by moving level on points with
leaders Manchester City, who were held 0-0 at West Brom, following a 5-0 victory against Wigan.
United, who thrashed Fulham 5-0 five days ago and Wigan suffered the same fate with the help of
Dimitar Berbatov's hat-trick (41, 58, 78).
Manchester United face Wigan, Manchester City face West Brom, Liverpool face Blackburn, Chelsea
face Fulham. Four of the strongest teams in the land, all apart from Manchester City are at home,
against three of the weakest travelling teams in the country and the other, West Brom, with a
dismal home record.
One very positive thing coming out of last night's game, amid all the doom and gloom
surrounding the defeat, was the display of 19 year-old Haris Vuckic. Alan Pardew we were not
disciplined or controlled Haris was making his first Premier League start ever, and he
looked a class player and was unlucky not to score a few times.
Shelvey seeks regular role

Liverpool's Dirk Kuyt says team-mate Luis Suárez has rebuffed critics
• Suárez's contribution hailed by Dutchman • 'It's important for us all to score but
especially for Luis' Luis Suárez's match-winning goal for Liverpool against Queens Park Rangers
has prompted his team-mate Dirk Kuyt to round on the Uruguayan's detractors.
Liverpool tasted victory over a promoted side for the first time this season as Kenny Dalglish's
men clinched all three points with a 1-0 win over Queens Park Rangers. The Reds, who had failed to
beat both Norwich and Swansea at Anfield in recent months, had striker Luis Suarez to thank for the
victory following the Uruguayan's 47th minute header – his first Premier League goal since the
beginning of October.
Dirk Kuyt has been impressed by team-mate Luis Suarez's unwavering focus after the striker put his
recent controversies behind him to return Liverpool to winning ways at Anfield.
Uruguay international Suarez scored his first Premier League goal since 1st October as his club
beat QPR 1-0 on Saturday to end a run of four successive home draws.
Luis Suarez ensured Liverpool's season did not follow a familiar storyline, but it was another edgy
afternoon at Anfield in a 1-0 victory over QPR.
The Uruguayan scored the only goal of the game when taking advantage of some slack marking to head
the winner just two minutes after half-time.
However, it was far from a perfect afternoon for Kenny Dalglish's team, as the match looked set to
follow a similar pattern to the frustrating stalemates against QPR's fellow newly-promoted sides,
Norwich and Swansea.

It wasn't exactly a beautiful game, but Manchester United's 1-0 victory against Aston Villa was
loaded with talking points.
The biggest storyline from the match wasn't United's victory, but the serious ankle injury
suffered by Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez, who rolled his ankle and appeared to suffer severe
ligament damage.
As one wag put it on Twitter last night, "Steve Kean is so incompetent that he can't even win
the sack race". It was, however, another Steve who did manage to stumble over this unwanted
finishing line ahead of the perpetually embattled Blackburn Rovers manager. Steve Bruce became the
first Premier League manager to lose his job for this season following his departure from
Sunderland late yesterday afternoon, and recent events meant that this was no great
surprise.

Steve Bruce will have more free time now to feed the pigeons
To be fair to Sunderland, the club had given Steve Bruce a decent amount of money to strengthen
his squad over the years. But despite that financial backing, the former Manchester United
defender's best showing with the Black Cats was a tenth-place finish last season.
Sunderland have sacked manager Steve Bruce after a string of poor results the club have confirmed
Wednesday evening. The news has come somewhat as a shock to many Sunderland fans as well as fans
from across the country as the first Premier League managerial casualty this season is claimed.
After a bad run of results [.
