With most attention on the exploits of Pohang Steelers in the Asian Champions League and the
national team's friendly matches in Europe against Denmark and Serbia, the fact that the K-League
is about to embark upon its championship play-off series has almost gone unnoticed.
Six teams are still in with a chance of the domestic title.

Sodium 15 November @ 04:27 PM EST
ESUFC gave Sodium all they could handle for 60 minutes of regulation in the OPL Semi-Final match.
Back and forth all game the play went. Each keeper being called upon keep their team in the game.
Play was physical as free kicks were awarded to both teams throughout the game.
In the end it was Jill Farley from her midfield position that brought the ball deep down the left
side and ripped what we thought was going to be an awesome cross, INTO THE NET!

So who watched the game Friday night between Los Angeles and Houston? Or should I say who
watched the semi-final match Saturday morning?Â
If you did watch the match, then you know exactly what I am talking about. You know that it
was one of the worst planned and executed playoff matches in American sports history.

Perhaps it was only fitting that on Friday the 13th, there would be not one, but two power outages
at the Home Depot Center. Eighteen minutes into the Western Conference Final match between the Los
Angeles Galaxy and Houston Dynamo, the lights on the upper deck at the Home Depot Center went out,
causing a stoppage in play that would last about 18 minutes.

Yesterday there were reports from the Denver Post and that the players and coaches got into a
shouting math after practice last Thursday, with Conor Casey stomping off the practice field
challenging Gary Smith to trade him and Pat Noonan leading the players in refusing extra
"punishment" laps. Obviously this isn't what you want to see from a team that collapsed in the
final quarter of the season.

Call me crazy (because I am), but despite Tenerife loss last week to Villarreal 5-0Â I still
think the new boys will win this weekend. Why you ask? Because although Tenerife looked horrid
last week this week they get to play Malaga who in nine games has lost seven. Malaga is in last
place and Tenerife sits just outside the relegation zone.

Just as the Second World War had started at the beginning of the football season, it ended in
Britain, at least at what would have been the end of it. It took, however, many years for the
country to recover from the end of the fighting, so perhaps it is unsurprising that the Football
League was unable to resume fixtures for the start of the 1945/46 season.

Gunners Today 05 November @ 03:27 PM EST
I understand that FIFA have other priorities, you know, the small matter of the World Cup in
June next year. Surely though, they have a dedicated team that watch as many as matches of clubs
from around the globe. Looking at the current list of nominees however, leads me to question
whether FIFA has actually watched domestic football since 2006.

thrilling match with both teams battling hard to find the goal. The teams meet for the second leg
of their first round tie at Robertson Stadium in Houston, Texas at 2:00 pm local time this Sunday,
and fans should expect a nail biter of a match.

It's the FA Cup First Round this weekend so, in the first of five pieces about the Oldest
Cup Competition In The World (and there's a phrase that is probably copyrighted by The FA), we take
a look back at Wycombe Wanderers' run to the semi-finals of the competition in 2001.
The FA Cup is a competition that throws up surprise results every season, but some records
remain and one that may never be broken is that no-one from the bottom two divisions of the
Football League has made The FA Cup final.

After the great Henrik Larsson's final match as a professional footballer on Wednesday, his club
threw him a little retirement party and decided to go all out and hire a Rod Stewart impersonator
to provide the entertainment. Although Henrik appears thoroughly bored by the fake Rod Stewart's
rendition of "I Am Sailing", everyone else is pretty into it, waving their hands in the air and
vibing off fake Rod's hand-kissing charms.

The MLS Playoffs opened up on Thursday night with a draw between Houston and Seattle. Given
that Houston win in almost from the beginning of the season and Seattle had to pull it together at
the last minute to get in I'd say this leaves a great deal of promise for the playoffs.
On Saturday Columbus and Salt Lake square in their first Semi-Final match and if they go
anything like Houston and Columbus this should be a doozy.

sustained possession in their opponent's half.

"Shut up Fool!"
In the world of blogging and sports media, there is no art more refined and time tested than the
systematic ridicule of a poor performing sports team. When things start to go wrong, everyone from
the owner on down to the equipment managers can be a target for the criticism of those of us who
make our way in sports forming opinions and shouting them loudly from the hilltops.
