After nine matches away, El Pistolero was back in the Liverpool line up. The Uruguayan had been
watching in the stands as the mighty Reds gained excellent results against Manchester City and
Manchester United without him. Suarez came on as a substitute and could not inspire Liverpool
against a weakened Spurs team.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has urged his players to get their ailing domestic campaign back
on track by recapturing the spirit of their famous invincible side of the 2003-04 season.
On Wednesday, Arsenal played out a 0-0 draw with Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium and
although they finally managed to end their point drought after three consecutive defeats, it wasn't
a source of joy for the Gunners as they now find themselves at seventh position on the league
table, behind the likes of Newcastle United and Liverpool.

A substantial portion of America will be treated to an extra helping of soccer on the biggest
sporting day of the year as Manchester United takes on Chelsea live on Fox on Super Bowl
Sunday.
This is the second time in less than a month a Premier League game will be seen on network
television.

If there is any weekend to pick-up your Serie A match watching, this is the one.
It was a quiet deadline day for Liverpool in the transfer market with no major first team
comings or goings. But they have played well to record a 3-0 win against Wolves at the
Molineux.
All three goals came in the second half. Carroll opened the scoring with a prod at the far post
in the 52nd minute.

Liverpool midfielder Charlie Adam insists the club remain in the hunt for a UEFA Champions League
spot despite dropping down to seventh in the Premier League.
The Reds were held to yet another home draw against Stoke last weekend, their seventh at Anfield so
far this season.
Those dropped points mean the club have fallen out of the European places and are five points
adrift of Chelsea in the final Champions League position.
Inter Milan are back.
The champions from 2006-2010 have stormed back into the title race after an atrocious start and
started off 2012 with a bang with a 1-0 win over AC Milan. Diego Milito scored against the run of
play nine minutes into the second half to wrap up the victory on a foggy day at the San Siro.
Amidst all of the buzz surrounding Carlos Tevez and his possible arrival in Milan, Inter have
slowly continued their climb towards the upper echelon of the Serie A table. The Nerazzurri have
won five consecutive league matches over the past month, outscoring their opponents by a 13-1 mark
during that period.

As you're well aware by now, Man City played some lovely football, scored a couple of beautul
goals and filed a decent victory over an already-through-and-therefore-decidedly-under-strength
Bayern Munich side in their final Champions League group game to take their final points tally to
10, which would've been enough to squeak through were it not for Napoli's 2-0 win over Villarreal
in Spain with the upshot of it all being that the Italian's went through with Bayern and City will
be playing Europa League football next year.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger selected a mixed squad for the final Champions League Group F game
at Olympiacos.
With the Gunners already qualified having won the group, the likes of raw midfielders Oguzhan
Ozyakup and Craig Eastmond, defenders Ignasi Miquel and Nico Yennaris many of whom had played in
the Carling Cup defeat toManchester City - were included, along withEngland Under-21
international Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

André Villas-Boas says Chelsea's form has made Stamford Bridge anxious
• Manager concerned by crowd's tension during home games • December's games are key to
season, says Portuguese André Villas-Boas admitted that Chelsea had lost their way at Stamford
Bridge and become anxious when they play there, after they slumped to a third home defeat in four
matches and were knocked out of the Carling Cup by Liverpool.

Full-time in Chelsea's last-minute loss in Leverkusen brought Pies' Heineken Star Player mini
league challenge to a close, with one lucky so-and-so (by his own admission!) winning a pair of
tickets to Manchester City's must-win final Champions League group game against Bayern Munich at
the Etihad on December 7th.
A draw against Swansea in their last premier league match apparently gave a pretty disappointing
feeling for Liverpool players including, Daniel Agger, who is really annoyed with the inconsistency
that his team showed this season.
Agger believes that if they don't immediately step up their game, they most likely won't be able
to fulfill this season's target in reaching the top four in the league, which means no Champions
League football again for them next season.

On September 11th last year, I sat in the AWD Arena in Hannover and watched an enthralling 2-2
draw between Hannover and Bayer Leverkusen. After two wins from their opening two games, there was
a sense of confidence amongst the swelled ranks of Hannover fans.
The 2013 UEFA Champions League Final will be hosted at Wembley once again UEFA President
Michel Platini revealed.
The decision to host both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA's Congress at Wembley once again
are to mark the "exceptional circumstances" of the Football Association's 150th anniversary in
2013, Platini told a news conference.

Former Real Madrid President Ramon Calderon has sensationally compared Jose Mourinho
to evil Nazi Dictator Adolf Hitler!
Calderon was president of Real Madrid between 2006 and 2009 and was speaking after Madrid's
General Manager Jorge Valdano was dramatically sacked after a very public falling out with current
Real boss Jose Mourinho.
In recent days certain parties within the Premier League Batcave have revealed that they
considered introducing a playoff for the final champions league spot. Now this, I believe would be
a very interesting idea. Imagine the end of season excitement with four teams battling it out for
the most coveted of rewards.
Udinese and Lazio are fighting until the final minute of the Serie A season to try to grab the
fourth and final Champions League qualifying spot against two teams who will be in a jolly mood on
Sunday.
Preview
Rather poetically, the final champions league spot for two seasons in a row has mathematically
been resolved, against the same team, at the same ground, by the same scoreline, in the same goal,
by the same player. Yes, Crouchy sent us into the champions league last time, and sent Man City
into it this time.

Clint Dempsey will try to add to his record breaking goal-scoring pace today when Fulham takes
on Liverpool today (2:55pm, ESPN2).
Liverpool enters the match still trying to catch Manchester City for the final Champions League
place in England, but Fulham will look to play spoiler as Dempsey returns from a slight injury that
kept him out of Fulham's last match.
Slipping into sixth place last weekend and already seven points behind Manchester City,
Tottenham Hotspurs' chance at getting the final Champions League spot by the end of season looks
slim, but their defender, Michael Dawson, refuses give up until everything is done and dusted.
The central defender still believes that Spurs have a pretty good shot at finishing in the top
four by the end of season, and to do that they must get back on winning ways starting from this
Saturday, where Spurs are set to face Blackpool.
AC Milan needs just one point to clinch the Serie A title but could face a struggle Saturday at
Roma, which is locked in a close battle for Italy's final Champions League spot. On Sunday, Inter
hosts Fiorentina and Napoli can clinch its return to the Champions League at Lecce, which is
struggling to avoid relegation.
Liverpool's improvement in the second part of the season has really brought their credibility
back again as they can lift themselves up to fifth place at the moment and still have a slim shot
at getting into the final Champions League spot.
However, acknowledging the difficulty of acquiring the CL ticket, the Reds' midfielder, Maxi
Rodriguez, is realistically content if the club managed to end the season with just another Europe
League passage.
Spurs have some big games coming up in the next few weeks and big games call for big players. If
the club is going to push for fourth place then the team as a whole will need to stand up and each
player will need to be at their strongest.
With this in mind, could it be time to throw Ledley King and/or Jonathan Woodgate back into the
fray?
Edin Dzeko's first Premier League goal was enough to give Manchester City all three point
against Blackburn and to take control of the battle for a place in next season's Champions
League.
City now have a four point gap on Spurs with four games to go. They two teams still have to play
each other, but now City can afford to lose to Spurs and still keep control of the fourth and final
Champions League position.
As we approach another iteration of the North London derby between Arsenal and Tottenham
Hotspur, rival supporters could perhaps be forgiven for spewing forth a bit extra vitriol to
relieve the increased feelings of tension. Each club has seen its own recent failures laid bare
for international football media to critique, new ownership issues making Arsenal fans nervous as
to what the future holds, and Spurs fans wondering where current ownership is headed with legal
wranglings over the Olympic Stadium at Stratford.
Manchester City's quest for Champions League football has suffered a huge blow after star
striker and captain Carlos Tevez was ruled out for the next month after injuring his hamstring in
Monday night's defeat to Liverpool at Anfield.
"Tevez is not available for Saturday," said Mancini, ahead of the FA Cup semi-final this
weekend.
Yesterday it was revealed that a new date had been set for our crucial game at Manchester City
– a match that could well decide who finishes fourth and claims the final Champions League
spot.
Luka Modric firmly believes that Spurs are the stronger side as the battle prepares to go to the
wire.
As the throngs of on-line shoppers spend the morning watching a brownish red bar slowly attempt
to reach fulfilment so they can be one of the 30,000 spurs fans in attendance in what could be our
final champions league game this season or another glorious night in N17 against Real Madrid I can
only wonder whether we'll experience the same mad rush and frustrating waiting times next
season.
A new date for our away clash with Manchester City has finally been set and we will now travel
to Eastlands on the 10th May.
Last season we travelled to Eastlands for our penultimate game of the campaign and won 1-0 to
secure a top four finish. This season's fixture will see us play City with just two games to
follow, against Liverpool and Birmingham.
By 1970's GoonerIt was I think Harold Wilson, the Labour leader and Prime Minister back in the 60's
and 70's that coined the phrase: "A week is a long time in politics". And the same is so very true
of the world of football. You've all had a very difficult 15 days. The last minute defeat in the
Carling Cup Final, Champions League elimination and now the defeat at Manchester United in the FA
