The USWNT beat Germany 1-0 on Thursday.
And I'm liking that 1-0 score this morning, as the Bates Bobcats (that's the women's soccer
version) ended their season on a high note, beating the Colby College Mules 1-0.
Meanwhile, here in NH that 1-0 score was the result in an upset of Hopkinton by Belmont in the
Class M Girls' Soccer tournament.

I lived in Ghana for many years, and it is with happy nostalgia that I have seen that the Ghana U20
team has won the 2009 U20 World in Egypt, by defeating Brazil in the final, 4-3 after penalty
kicks! This is the first time ever an African team wins this tournament, and breaks eight years of
South American dominance in the tournament, although Ghana was also in the final in 1993, losing to
Brazil

I started writing this as a reply to the comments in the last match reaction, but I figured this
discussion worthy of its own posting, and what better format to use than my infamous Versus

The theory here is that one of these two players will be starting next to Dejan Jakovic when the
Canadian returns from hernia surgery.

The Falcons, who gave up two goals in the first 9 minutes this evening, were not able to overcome
that early deficit in falling to the favored IWA Red Knights. The Falcons did narrow the deficit
when freshman Molly Brewer confidently placed her penalty kick in the side netting in the 19th
