My my, The Figos look absolutely perfeito in that photo snapped in
Paris last week! In many ways, it's good that the Portuguese midfielder decided to retire from
football completely... He could teach dear Guti below a thing or two about wearing proper
pants.

Raver Ramos is in ecstatic pain, but let's ignore that and examine the possibility
of the return of Galacticos 2.0. Against Marseille last night, Los Blancos showed
a glimpse of what Potter Perez's careful planning has done... or has it? If you watched the second
half of the game last night, you would have seen Benzema's classy one-two with
Kaka, who neatly directed the ball in Greaseano's direction for
him to score the final goal of the night.

desse lado.

Serie A Talk 16 September @ 03:37 PM EST
A lot has been said about Serie A's decline over the past couple of years. Critics have
claimed the English Premiership and Spain's La Liga have become Europe's best leagues leaving Serie
A to challenge the Bundesliga for third spot.
Sadly, Serie A has witnessed a sharp decline in the past few years that cannot be attributed to
the lack of financial means alone.

This week's Ultimate 11's is transfers that shook the world. Who can remember David Jack's
controversial £10,890 move from Bolton to Arsenal back in 1928? Not even Mickey Marbles remembers
that one! Or how about the rather unfortunate Gianluigi Lentini who signed for AC Milan in a world
record fee of £13m, only to be involved in a serious car crash a year after signing, the extent of
the injuries he received were a fractured skull and damaged eye socket and he spent approximately 2
days in a light coma.

Luís Figo garante que não pensa voltar a jogar, mas deixa a porta entreaberta perante o
hipotético convite do Maiorca.

"Bobby Robson became the heart that English football wore on its sleeve." The words are a
touching epitaph from the beginning of David Lacey's tribute to Sir Bobby Robson in this morning's
Guardian, after the footballing great passed away yesterday. But they only do him partial justice.
Best known in England for successful spells as a player then manager at Fulham, West Bromich
Albion, Ipswitch Town and Newcastle and for his eight years at the helm of the English national
team his feats overseas often go undocumented, or at best overlooked.

Here is a short guide to help you buy the best and most expensive player in the world. I know some
of the steps here will be a little hard to achieve for smaller clubs but hey, let's keep it on the
funny side.
1. Be a big football club. I'm sure Manchester City or that club from Uzbekistan that wanted
Eto'o and also have Rivaldo would have paid even more to have C.

May 2009 and Spanish giants Real Madrid had slipped to one of the lowest ebbs in the their long and
celebrated history. A 6-2 home defeat at the hands of arch-rivals Barcelona confirmed to even the
most loyal Madridista that their club was in dire need of a radical reform: from the President, to
the manager, and finally to the players themselves.

A presidential candidate that preaches hope and keeps his campaign promises? Some are skeptical of
Real Madrid splashing so much cash in this time of economy uncertainty. Some of the critics, cules,
are simply mad that the spendthrift penny-pinching days at the Bernabeu have come to an end. They
still hold resentment over the Figo to Real deal.

With his Inter contract about to expire, Figo will - in his own words - "no longer play at a high
level." Figo is 36 years old and just finished his Inter career with another scudetto, which is a
decent enough way to bow out. But that doesn't mean he's done altogether. There are plenty of [...]

Former Real Madrid player Steve McManaman called it the "Disneyfication of Real Madrid"; others
scoffed at the idea as a bad science experiment gone wrong. If there was ever a time where football
was a peak of absurdity, this was most definitely the time.
Los Galacticos. The mere mention of the two words together conjure up memories of watching some
of the world's great names in the sport Beckham, Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo and Owen stepping onto the
same pitch wearing the same kit and playing together in a match that wasn't a friendly for
charity.
