Santino Quaranta likely deserved a less abrupt end to his playing career. Instead, he is getting
an unprecedented chance at a new beginning.
After not being offered a new contract with D.
So as Messi basks in the glory of winning a third straight FIFA world player of the year title,
attention continues to be centred on the players who missed out.
One such Player is Neymar. According to Brazilian legend Ronaldo, Neymar not only has the
potential to win the Ballon d'Or, but he can become better than Messi.
Leo. The Best. 3x.
24 years old. An ego that is pushed far beneath an incomparable will to win. 5 feet, 6 inches of
skill and athleticism. The players, the media, and the coaches have spoken. Lionel Messi is, for
the third time, the FIFA World Player of the Year. With so many years left in his career, it's
mystifying.
The Friday Crackovia Club
It's the international break (oooh, but of course, the season has
resumed!) so this week's Crackovia Club is a classic from a previous episode. Now,
who in the right minds would think that good old, quiet Leo Messi is the type of
person you'd best avoid in the plane?
Welcome to another TGIF, which because of my work commitments is now written between Friday
evening and Saturday morning. I still feel that this feature is worth producing. It gives me a
chance to round up the issues of the week and comment about anything which is exercising Gooners
over their pints of beer.
Football federations are clueless at best, corrupt at worst, and in other breaking news the sky
is blue. At least when it's not overcast. Though even then it's probably blue above the clouds.
Unless there are no planes flying overhead and so nobody to see it, because then you're getting
into trees falling in the forest territory.
Lionel Messi became Barcelona's second highest ever goalscorer after he netted twice during his
sides 5-0 demolition of BATE Borisov. "There is simply no stopping him"; "Messi the record-breaker"
were just some of the standout headlines gleaming across the official Barcelona website. And who
can disagree?
Now featuring former FIFA World Player of the Year and FC Barcelona, AC Milan and Brazil midfielder
Ronaldinho, Flamengo is one of the most popular clubs in Brazil with an estimated 35 million

Former Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo insists that although he is living his dream at
Real Madrid, he would welcome a return to the Barclays Premier League in the later stages of his
career.
Ronaldo's brilliant performances throughout last season guided Real to Copa Del Rey glory last
season but considering that the challenge of overcoming Barcelona's overall dominance in Spain
remains fresh, the Portuguese international is completely focused on La Liga for now.

Manchester United love playing in the United States. If last season's popular tour was not
enough to justify this claim, the Red Devils once again made the journey across the Atlantic this
summer for their pre-season preparations.

opponent after opponent to rest before ending the tour with a solid 2-1 win over European Champions
FC Barcelona in the nation's capital.
Following the latest development in the Cesc Fabregas transfer saga, which suggests that Arsenal
are finally ready to negotiate the sale of their skipper to Barcelona, speculation is rife about
the identity of a big-name replacement being targetted by manager Arsene Wenger.
In the past, Wenger has been known to prefer developing young players rather than buying
immediate replacements for former stars such as Thierry Henry and Mathieu Flamini.

The 2010 World Cup was heralded as the dawn of a new era in South African football. This new epoch
was to be devoid of the old amateurish ways in the local game where officials "forget" to perform
rudimentary tasks like erecting corner kick flags for an international match.
From the Evansville Courier Press, January 30, 2011
The formula for developing soccer players shouldn't be like trying to solve the Rubik's cube — it
shouldn't be a series of twisting, turning and guessing.
There is one club in the world that churns out world-class players more than any other.
FC Barcelona clinically destroyed fellow Spanish La Liga side Almeria 5-0 in the first leg of their
Copa del Rey semi-final at the Nou Camp on Wednesday. FIFA World Player of the Year Lionel Messi
opened the scoring in the 9th minute and added a second in the 16th. David Villa and Pedro
Rodriguez notched goals [.
