Before last week's announcement of the cancellation of the 2012 WPS season, it was widely
reported that the league and magicJack owner Dan Borislow had reached an agreement to settle their
ongoing legal battles that would involve his team playing a series of exhibition games against WPS
teams.
While those reports made clear that any settlement was contingent upon the approval of US
Soccer, it appears now that US Soccer and FIFA rules would have prohibited any exhibition games
involving non-league magicJack playing WPS teams.
When was the last time FIBA had anything to do with NBA matters? Practically never.
The NBA does everything it wants with no input from FIBA publicly until now, apparently. FIBA, the
International Basketball Federation has determined that Kenyon Martin is a free agent, owing
nothing to any team from China.
Big blow for manchester City ahead of this weekend's FA Cup tie with Manchester United after
Ivory Coast coach Francois Zahoui rejected their request to play Yaya and Kolo Toure in Sunday's
Manchester derby.
"Clubs know the rules," Zahoui told BBC Africa. "I'm expecting them [the Toures] for the Fifa
deadline.
England players and the FA are pleased that a compromise has been reached in their puppy row with
FIFA ahead of Saturday's friendly with Spain. The FA wanted England players to have puppies
attached to their shirts for the match, but this was deemed to be in breach of FIFA rules. After a
brief impasse, [.
How often does an FA Youth Cup game get national coverage?
I'm not talking ages old clips of a young Wayne Rooney or David Beckham or John Terry replayed
in some 'before they were famous' programme while non-entity talking heads try to be witty, I mean
actual coverage of the events of a game.

But it wasn't all good news for the winners as striking sensation Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez
was forced out of the game after he suffered a tough challenge from Chelsea's Ashley Cole in front
of goal.
Sir Alex Ferguson described the tackle as "shocking" and "over the edge," also citing that he
couldn't understand why a penalty wasn't giving, as Cole received a yellow card for the challenge
inside the area.
The Seattle Sounders are sitting pretty good going into the weekend. The Sounders put in a
yeoman's performance after traveling down to Costa Rica. They remain perfect in the CONCACAF
Champions League with their 2-1 win over Herediano. This weekend D.C. United arrive in Seattle
looking to bolster their record in the less than competitive Eastern Conference.
You've got to hand it to Wales bottom of the group without any wins or hope of qualification
and they beat our nearest rivals on Friday night. We're now three points clear at the top of the
group with a far superior goal difference to Montenegro going into tonight's game.
We've not played Wales at Wembley since February 1983 (the qualifier for the 2006 World Cup was
played at Old Trafford) which surprised me a bit because I grew up with the old Home International
tournament and we played each other at least once a year until that competition was abandoned
almost 30 years ago.
This is an era of Nepalese football where there are abundance of tournaments for players, various
prize for the performing players and various media covering from paper to radio, television, mobile
and websites. In recent time, it has been seen that players have been awarded with huge sum of
money, motorbike, car and even with an apartment.

Speaking in a rare interview, Newcastle united manager, Alan Pardew has hit back at Sochaux over 23
year old Malian striker target, Modibo Maiga. Sochaux are accusing Newcastle United of improper
conduct over their transfer dealings under Article 18 of the FIFA rules regarding 'tapping up'
players. Their statement on their referral to the game's [.
BBC David Bond: Qatar 'spent big' to win 2022 World Cup.
I can't help wondering as I listen to David Bond's interview with Hassan al Thawadi,
the executive in charge of Qatar's successful bid to host the World Cup in 2022, that we all got
suckered in by first of all, a very smart intelligent businessman who knew exactly what he was
doing, and by FIFA's decrepit bid evaluation rules that allowed all kinds of shenanigans to
take place, "within FIFA rules", as he so eloquently points out.
FIFA rules say that boys u17 can only play at one World Cup.
Teeboy Kamara is 15 and could go to the next World Cup. He's that young. And at this World Cup he's
been played for 15 minutes so far and then got injured.
He looked talented but raw raw raw and surely his development would be better if he'd got to play
three games when he was more developed in two years time.
GOLD CUP: FIFA rules Mexico can replace suspended players - originally posted on
Soccerlens.com
It looks like the El Tri's Gold Cup doping issue has reached a conclusion. Days after the five
players were given clean test results from a June 10 sample FIFA has ruled that Mexico can replace
the five players they removed from the squad.
Below are collated results of the first round matches of CONCACAF World Cup 2014 qualifying. Ties
are two-leg series and standard FIFA rules apply (aggregate goals, away goals rule, extra time and
penalties if tied on aggregate and away goals). Home team of first leg is listed first, and its
score is also listed first for both legs.
Speaking ahead of tonight's Carling Nations Cup game against Nigel Worthington's IFA team, Ireland
captain Robbie Keane has waded into the eligibility issue stating that it was "totally up to the
players" themselves if young Irish internationals from the North decide to play for Ireland rather
than the IFA team.
An investigative report by the Mediapart website revealed that numerous managers of the National
Technical Directorate (DTN) and the French Football Federation (FFF) approved the "principle of
discriminatory quotas" in November 2010. Their objective? To limit the number of players of West
African and North African origin.
I have to say that I am a little confused by the furor arising because Jack Wilshere might play
for England's Under 21s this summer in the European Championship.
I saw a tweet from Matt Lawton yesterday who said that he agreed with David Platt that "Playing
under 21 football a drop in standards for Wilshere.
Should coaches be held responsible for horrific fouls? Paul Gardner feels so, and after Colorado's
Brian Mullan's 10-game suspension for his vicious tackle on Seattle's Steve Zakuani, is the main
topic of his column in Soccer America.
So now we know. Brian Mullan, for his horrific foul on Steve Zakuani, gets a 10-game
suspension.
FIFA rules of the game state that is illegal if a player "handles the ball deliberately (except
for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area)".
Further broken down, there are two types of situations in which the ball touches a players hand
or arm, one of which is a foul, the other which is not.

Here at Kickette, our stance on FIFA's rule for giving a yellow card for shirt removal is well
documented. We've lost hours of sleep over it and so has Diego Forlan.

Liverpool full-back Paul Konchesky looks set to move to Championship side Nottingham Forest on loan
after a proposed move to his old club Fulham fell through.
Konchesky had looked set to move back to west London, but they were unable to offload Carlos
Salcido who has failed to settle in England since his summer move from PSV Eindhoven, which could
see the left back move to Forest for the rest of the season, according to The Times.
There has been a lot of talk recently about Arsenal engaging on their first real commercial tour
in the summer. Until now Austria has been the pre-season base camp, the players undergo rigorous
fitness and conditioning training ahead of a few low-key friendly matches.
However, one of the main income streams for the future will be commercial revenue and Arsenal's
does lack behind the top clubs and pressure is mounting to go on a money-spinning tour.
With news coming out that Paul Konchesky's move back to his former club Fulham is all but
assured, it looks as though Liverpool will be saying goodbye to one more reminder of the
short-lived Roy Hodgson era at anfield. This is, at least on the surface, good news, though it has
been in the works in some form or another for a while now.
According to a report in Voetbal International, Ajax are far from happy with Liverpool's attempts
to lure Luis Suarez away and are ready to file a complaint to Fifa against the Reds for illegally
approaching the player.
Liverpool supposedly contacted Suarez's agent Pere Guardiola in the first week of January, but
didn't inform Ajax about their interest until January 14.
