Yes, MLS fans, despite all that is right with this league you still get your opportunity to
bitch and moan. Qwest Field will be Field Turf for the Cup Final, as the temporary sod would have
been unsafe for players.
- MLS worked very closely with the Qwest Field and Sounders FC staff to analyze all of the

The City of Toronto are all high on grass after approving MLSE's proposal to install a new
natural grass turf for BMO field. This is great news for Toronto FC fans who have been enduring a
brutal turf war for the past 3 seasons since TFC joined the MLS.
The last time BMO field boasted a shiny grass field was when Real Madrid came to town to
thoroughly trounce TFC.

First of all, sorry about last night and not having anything to discuss here. I honestly wasn't
feeling it and furthermore just wanted to relax and watch some of the games that were on. But I am
back tonight with a couple interesting items.
The first got me really thinking. Steve Davis, the Dallas writing genius that he is posted this
little diddy about the best stadiums in the league 2010 style.

Toronto FC and BMO Field took a giant step forward in their progression towards complete football
legitimacy today as Toronto City Council, led by season ticket holder Mayor Miller, approved the
installation of delicious, real, green grass in time for the 2010 season. The plan still has to
pass provincial and federal watchdogs due to their original contributions to the stadium
construction but that is not considered to be a major concern.

The man you see down on the field turf is a hard nose player that gives his all to the club and
tries his best to be a strong and needed player for this squad. No he doesn't have the greatest of
abilities like Juan Pablo Angel, or Landon Donovan, not even the power shot from long distance like
Dwayne DeRosario, but the one thing you can always count on from this man is the size of his heart
and the willingness to perform on the field and working hard in practice to make sure he can bury
those chances when his number is called upon.

TORONTO FC VS. COLORADO RAPIDS
BMO Field - Saturday, 4:30PM EST
TV: CBC -- Radio: The Fan 590
Hey Colorado - do you like the circus? Well, let's hope so because without putting up the BMO
Winter Bubble, the big top is definitely in full effect. The only thing not happening around TFC
this week is talk of how poor they have played lately!

A report in today's
Globe & Mail newspaper hints at Dwayne De Rosario's growing
unhappiness at the state of BMO Field's dreadful Field Turf and its effect on his long-term plans.
When asked if the green polyester slacks which substitute for grass in Toronto makes him question
his future, the all-star midfielder said "Yeah, kind of, in a way, because my career depends on me
playing, and if turf is hampering the longevity of my career, then you have to question how long
can you actually deal with playing on turf.

On Thursday night at Giants Stadium the return of David Beckham to Major League Soccer was the
major attraction of the night and to see over 23,000+ coming to get a glance of him. Every single
time he would touch the ball, or got ready to send a free kick into the area of Red Bull NY the
crowd would boo him pretty hard.

The kids were all right. Toronto's young forwards did their job last night putting 3 goals past
adult film star Joe Cannon as TFC dominated San Jose 3-1. It seems like two weeks off and some
California raisins was just the tonic for The Reds' poor away form.
Chad "The New Pele" Barrett opened the scoring in the 5th minute, powerfully converting an amazing
De Rosario standing bicycle cross which put Cannon on his back like a scene from "Keepers Gone
Wild".

I must admit this was a fun event, way out in the west Texas desert. Ok, not that far out, only a
five hour drive. Midland has this great little facility, Grande Communications Stadium. It would be
a perfect USL-1 or USL-2 stadium for soccer, except that it's field turf painted with football
lines.

If approved, financed and built it will be called South Coast Soccer City.
I'm told it will look very similar to the picture that accompanies the story.
The usual crew of anonymous bigots has hijacked the comment section at the bottom of the story,
so allow me to clarify one thing: no taxpayer money is involved.

MLS Rumors 09 June @ 12:10 PM EST
Toronto FC's rival to the north managed to put in grass at their new stadium from the
beginning.
Way back on April 21,  loyal MLSR readers will remember this leak we received from someone
within the Toronto FC organization wishing anonymity.
The latest report regarding putting grass in at BMO Field comes courtesy of Canada's SLAM!

This past Tuesday on April 14th was the topping off of the steel construction of Red Bull Arena
and even though the authentic natural turf hasn't been installed yet, it doesn't really matter to
be honest, because you can see the beauty of the stadium and you can dream right away of how it
will shine in the day, night, overcast or sun.
