12.01.2012 - Saber retirarse a tiempo implica una gran sabiduría. Juan dijo:
"conviene
You could see it coming a mile off couldn't you!. Once again we struggled to break a side down that
comes here and lines up with ten men behind the ball. It's all well and good having the majority of
the possession of the ball but you HAVE TO do something with it.
How many fucking times am I saying the same thing over and over again?
Chelsea's confirmed line up to take on Valencia tonight is as follows:
Chelsea Team: Cech, Ivanovic, Cole, David Luiz, Romeu, Ramires, Mata, Drogba, Meireles, Sturridge,
Terry.
Chelsea subs: Turnbull, Lampard, Torres, Mikel, Malouda, Ferreira, Kalou

As we all know AVB is planning a
clear out starting in January and continuing next summer
after the club confirmed that transfer requests have been accepted from
Alex and
Nico
Anelka. Over the weekend stories also broke that AVB is prepared to listen to offers for
Drogba, Kalou, Bosingwa and Ferreira.
The confirmed Chelsea line up to face Liverpool tonight is:
Turnbull, Bosingwa, Alex, D Luiz, Bertrand; McEachran, Romeu, Lampard (c); Lukaku, Torres, Malouda.
- subs: Hilario, Ferreira, Ivanovic, Ramires, Kalou, Mata, Anelka.
Liverpool XI vs Chelsea: Reina, Kelly, Carragher, Coates, Enrique, Henderson, Spearing, Lucas,
Maxi, Bellamy, Carroll.
Week 10 kicked off with a loud bang as Guimaraes thumped Pacos Ferreira 5-1 leaping them out of
the cellar and into a tie for 10th place in Portugal. Maritimo then on Saturday defeated Academica
3-2 temporarily moving the club into third place in the league. Porto was then held on the road by
Olhanense, playing the Algarve club to a scoreless draw.
AVB has rang the changes and introduced three youngsters tonight starting against Everton with some
big guns on the bench. JT didn't travel along with the suspended Ashley Cole, Didier Drogba and
Jose Bosingwa. Ramires isn't ready to play.
The starting Chelsea team is as follows:
Turnbull, Ivanovic, Alex, Luiz, Bertrand, Romeu, McEachran, Malouda, Lukaku, Kalou, Anelka.
OK, we crack on this week with our trip to Goodison Park to take on Everton barely 10 days after
beating them at Stamford Bridge in the Premier League. We know that Didier Drogba, Jose Bosingwa
and Ashley Cole are all suspended for this one, Essien and Hilario are out injured but we have
Fernando Torres back available if need be.
Week 7 started off in Setubal where the home side won 2-1 to keep visiting Rio Ave winless on the
season. Benfica then took it to Pacos Ferreira hammering the visiters 4-1 on Saturday. Sunday
started with a few stumbles from clubs at the top of the league as Maritimo drew on the road 2-2
with Feirense and Braga suffered their first loss of the season 1-0 to Uniao de Leiria.
Well after some speculation Chelsea have finally confirmed their team news for tonight and stick
with a 4-2-3-1 formation!!. The starting eleven and substitutes are as below.
CHELSEA:
Team News - Cech, Bertrand, Luiz, Alex, Ferreira, Romeu, McEachran, Malouda, Sturridge, Lukaku,

SAM BARKER(Philadelphia Union)
No game for Philly so no blog for sam this week.
Daniel Robertson, of SB Nation's FC Dallas blog Big D Soccer, and I discussed tonight's
Dallas-Philadelphia Union game. We differed on score, player of the game and a lot of other things,
but we seemed to agree on Andrew Jacobson. Odd.
Big D: Going be an interesting match. If I remember right, Fabian Castillo absolutely murdered
the Union earlier this year in 'frisco.

Rangers dive-bombed out of the Champions League at the first hurdle last night, drawing 1-1
against Malmo at the Swedbank Arena, thus failing to reverse the 1-0 home defeat inflicted upon
them by the Swedes at Ibrox last week.
The ill-tempered affair saw Gers end the game with nine men after having both Steven Whittaker
and Madjid Bougherra pick up straight reds for 'hoying the ball around willy-nilly' and 'planting
elbows in craniums' respectively.
Scottish champion Rangers exited the Champions League in the qualifying stage on Thursday, drawing
1-1 on the night with Malmo and losing 2-1 in aggregate. Rangers were already down a man when
Nikica Jelavic scored in the 23rd minute. Steven Whittaker had been sent off five minutes earlier,
and Madjid Bougherra followed in the 66th.

In which Chelsea's resident in-house Beatles tribute band a fab foursome consisting of Messrs

Asia.
Teams are returning to preseason training around Europe and there are ton of story lines. But here
are five clubs that I will be keeping on a close eye during this upcoming season.
PSG: I have highlighted them in the past, but they are the team to watch in France this year. They
are closing in on QPR's Adel Taarabt, that should be the first of many big money signings at the
capital city club.

....according to the Press over the last couple of days!.
Now we all know alot of these stories are just pure speculation and I can safely say Chelsea will
not sign all of them! So I just wonder who you think we would realistically get this summer and how
would they blend in at Chelsea?

Tonight, at precisely 19:45pm, the ball starts rolling for the Europa League Final in Dublin. A
final contested between two Portuguese clubs from the north of the nation, FC
Porto vs Braga. But I'm sure you're all aware of that.
ZAKUANI, FERREIRA... NOW MORALESSadly Javier Morales has little to celebrate right now.Bad luck comes in threes, and this has certainly proven true. Major League Soccer has lost three
top players in just a few weeks to terrible injuries which could rule them out for the remainder of
the 2011 campaign.
The weekend gave us some interesting talking points. Here are a few quick thoughts and some snap
judgments on what the weekend did for MLS. Also below, a small preview for upcoming articles this
week.
Injuries: This weekend represented another weekend where a league star went down with a
broken bone in his leg.
I love soccer and I cherish the moments when my soccer world mixes in great ways with the "real
world." So, a little story from a wild night:
I was at Pizza Hut Park for the soggy FC Dallas-Galaxy match. If you're up on current events –
the "little" current, not the big "current," that is – then you know about the crazy scene from
suburban Dallas.

He has worked at Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan while studying the game under the guidance of
the late great Sir Bobby Robson. The same man has broken countless records with Porto and continues
to prove his worth on the managerial stage. No, I am not talking about current Real Madrid coach
Jose Mourinho but rather his protégé and current FC Porto head coach André Villas Boas.
Pepe's red card challenge
The so-called diving.
The exagerations.
The ref badgering.
Most of you complain about it and the players that are most notorious for it.
But this is what happens when a team, in this case Madrid, decides it does not want to play
straight up.
As I was pondering the idea of writing a pre-match preview of the Whitecaps's match against FC
Dallas, a lone piece of reasoning slipped into my usually empty mind. This match against FC Dallas
was important, very important. While I was optimistically predicting a 3-1 victory for the
Whitecaps before the match, instead the ended 2-1 for FC Dallas.

Benfica have defeated Pacos Ferreira 2-1 to win their thrid straight League Cup today in Coimbra.
Benfica got first half goals from Jara and Javi Garcia before an own goal by Luisao in the second
half cut the lead to one. This made things a bit more interesting at the end but Benfica hung on
for the victory.
Tonight, without Alex, Ramires and possibly Ivanovic, Chelsea take to the pitch knowing that
dependant on what happens at White Hart Lane, three points could move us into second place in the
Premier League. With United slipping up last night, we could move within six points of the leaders
knowing they still have to play us and The Arsenal.
Both FC Dallas and Portland will be coming off big wins when they meet Sunday at 3pm Pacific for
their first meeting at JELD-WEN Field in Portland. Dallas, coming off an emotional week that saw
them claim at least a little revenge for last year's MLS Cup loss against Colorado, will be looking
to expand on that momentum.
