Hello there. Start of another week. A start that has been made better/worse for you depending on
where you stand after our first game of the season. I have no authority for speak for you but
personally, I'm can't be in better mood. Arsenal is back, win or lose is part of the game, what is
there not to enjoy?
One-nil to the Arsenal, and as one goal wins go, that one was as sweet as it was deserved.
Sweet because we needed a win and we needed a performance after that baffling foot-off-the-pedal
defeat at QPR. Wenger said it was a blip and that yesterday we'd see the real Arsenal back the one
utterly reinvigorated since February and he was right.
Moyes ...... never liked the fella. Reminds me of the chap who hangs around Harry Potter, or is
it the little bloke who kept looking for his "precious" in Lord of the Rings? Either way, never
liked the cut of his jib.
People say he does a wonderful job at Everton, citing the financial constraints, the shadow of
his Stanley Park neighbours etc etc but Howard Kendall had the same constraints and he did  OK,
but then he was a proper manager.

Liverpool fans are overjoyed to see club captain Steven Gerrard back playing for the club
regularly, and his inspirational impact on the team is being praised across the board. Former
Arsenal stalwart Martin Keown joined the chorus of approval during the BBC's 'Football Focus'
program' on Saturday.
Good morning, here we are on the eve of a new season and I don't know about you but I'm excited.
Genuinely.
I watched some Sky Sports News last night and they showed Robin van Persie arriving in
Manchester, getting out of a car and looking happy. I mean, I can deal with him going there, I can
deal with the fact that he's a big old jazz-handed Quisling, but looking happy?
It was an eventful day yesterday in Arseblog Towers. After saying goodbye to the Arseblog Basset
so many months ago, we decided it was the right time to bring in a replacement, and the fuzzy thing
in the picture above is him.
His name is Archer and so far, without any kind of exaggeration at all, he's the best dog in the
entire world.
How utterly brilliant is that?! For those of you sitting there thinking, what the hell have you
won? I find myself staring back at you asking where the hell have you been?
If you follow me on Twitter there is no way you will have escaped the knowledge that I was in a
list of nominees for the best Female blog category in the Football Blogging Awards.
This furore over Luis Suarez Suarez 'non-handshake' with that Evra fella has gone out of control
and is totally out of proportion for what has occurred.
True, Suarez is guilty of going back on his promise to shake that man Evra's hand and he did make a
mistake there after previously promising to Liverpool that he would do so.
I'd love for Carroll to score in this one...Liverpool travel to
my hometown of Wolverhampton on Tuesday night as they prepare to face Wolves in the Premier League.
Liverpool are on a massive high after knocking both Manchester City and Manchester United out of
the League and FA Cup, but can the Reds compose themselves in exactly the sort of fixture that has
caused them to stumble in the league?
England and Spurs legend Jimmy Greaves has questioned Liverpool's decision to spend such a vast
amount of money on misfiring striker Andy Carroll. In his weekly column for The Sunday People,
Greaves - who scored a fantastic 220 goals in 321 games for Spurs - argued:"If Fernando Torres was
vastly over-priced, then what about the fella Liverpool drafted in on the same day, Andy Carroll?
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish insists Luis Suarez's value to the team is judged on far more than
goals.
The 24-year-old scored for the first time in the Premier League since 1st October as the Reds beat
QPR 1-0 on Saturday to end a run of four successive Anfield draws.
During that period Suarez has racked up two Football Association misconduct charges, but the
January 2011 signing has been fully supported by Dalglish.
Anfield legend John Aldridge has revealed that he was so disheartened by Liverpool's performance
during the 2001 FA Cup final that he walked out on the match, and ended up missing the two Michael
Owen goals that clinched the cup for Liverpool.
As every fan will no doubt remember, Arsenal were leading 1-0 in the final with 10 minutes to go.
Steven Gerrard was pleased to mark his return to Liverpool's first XI with a goal but he was
disappointed Manchester United could not be defeated at Anfield.
The fit-again Liverpool captain's free-kick found its way through a United wall weakened by Ryan
Giggs deserting his post to give the hosts the lead.
Andres Iniesta got married to his long-term partner Xavi Anna Ortiz in a big ol' castle over the
weekend and an endless slew of footballing talent turned out for the occasion; with European and
World champions, Barca teammates past and present and even club president Sandro RosellÂ
congregating in Tarragona for the wee fella's big day.
One to melt even the frostiest of cockles now, with a little clip of Robson Junior (it's hard to
tell height-wise, but he's the diddy fella on the right the one with the Fellaini 'fro) showing up
Dad at Milan training with a couple of nimble step-overs before laying a smacker on his old
man.
The players are Darren Bent, Charles N'Zogbia, Ciaran Clark and Gary Gardner. The fella with the
hair and the mic is Lukey Moore from the Football Ramble (no relation to the lazy former Villa
striker). The competition is IGN FIFA 12 pro player tournament. The venue is Bodymoor Heath.
In which Real Sociedad defender Inigo Martinez (i.e, the fella that scored that audicious
30-yard, volleyed own-goal for the Spain U21s not so very long ago) arches one in from
diiiiiiiiiiiiiiistance against Athletic Bilbao a goal which staunch Sociedad supporter Xabi Alonso
(a man that knows a fair bit about scoring from one's own half) subsequently labelled the 'greatest
goal ever scored at the Anoeta Stadium'.
The right back position is one Fulham haven't really had figured out since the 2008-09 season.
Last season Stephen Kelly led the team with 21 starts at the position. Chris Baird led 2010-11 with
just 16 starts. John Paintsil, making 37 starts in 2008-09, had just 21 in 2009-10.
In fact, since 2001, only 4 players have made 30 or more appearances (which equates to a little
over 75% of the season) at right back: Finnan 01/02; Volz 03/04, 04/05; Rosenior 06/07, Paintsil
08/09.

Joey Barton has come along way. Where once he used to kick out at the world, frothing with
bilious, toxic rage; thrashing the living shit out of teenagers outside McDonalds at three in the
morning and using people's aqueous humour to stub out his cigars, now he actively looks at
paintings and books, each time memorizing their titles, and wears scarves indoor and out even on
the mildest of days.
Yesterday, preceding one of the most astonishing league finales ever to be seen in our
lifetimes, a more commonplace phenomenon was observed: Joey Barton. He was sent off for
extracurriculars before the hour mark, putting his famously good behavioral regulation skills on
show. (Charged not once but twice for violent conduct.
We're delighted to welcome lovely fella, stand-up comedian and Spurs fan Carl Jones to Cheer Up
Alan Shearer. With Spurs second in the table, here's Carl's first guest post about whether his side
can actually win the league...
.............................
It's mid-January. Tottenham Hotspur sit three points adrift of leaders Manchester City and level on
points with Manchester United.
Whilst just settling in to the hot seat with the Russian national team, ex-England manager had
claimed that under his guidance, the Three Lions would've done better at this summer's Euro finals,
saying to an English journo:
"If I were with your guys it would've been even better.
Like Indonesia, Thai players rarely stay anywhere for any length of time. Thanks to the bloody
excellent Thai Fussball here are some familiar names on the move.
Muang Thong United have shifted striker Christian Kouakou. He has signed for Tours who are not a
travel company but play in France.
Today is a much deserved day off for the U.S. WNT from training, weights, meetings or any
physical movement of any sort. The players have been "busting" for several weeks now and today they
get a chance to do what this fella below is doing: Nap
As some fella once said: Go out on top and always leave 'em wanting more. Didier Drogba has
just confirmed via the Chelsea website that, after eight long years at the club, he is to leave
Stamford Bridge on a free transfer when his contract dwindles to nothing on June 30th:
"I wanted to put an end the speculation and confirm that I am leaving Chelsea.
It's hard to get too excited about Buriram PEA winning the Thai Premier League. It's been a done
deal for so long plus the involvement of high profile politicians and the lingering suspicions of
franchise football all leave a bad taste in the mouth.
There are though a couple of noteworthy achievements to come out of their triumph.
Since Ju Young Park arrived from Monaco in August he has made less than a handful of appearances
for Arsenal.
Now I understand there is always going to be a period of 'transition' for a player coming in from a
different country, but at times I wonder whether Park is actually real or a figment of my
imagination.
Indonesia Premier League
PSMS v Persebaya 1-2Persiraja v Persija (!) 3-3
Other games were scheduled but never happened. Arema flew all the way to Papua to play
Persipura...but last year's champions had already withdrawn from the league and were playing n the
Inter Island Cup. Who the hell allowed them to fly when they had no opponent?
Ronaldo has just posted this photo of his new facial hair on Twitter and, well...
Sorry Ron, but that's the kind of 'tache that could land a fella on some sort of register.
For the uninitiated, Kahlo is/was a Mexican artiste and feminist icon who also happened to do a
rather fine line in monobrows and niche female facial hair.
Whatever you do lads, don't look down!  For those that haven't been and who won't be going going
on Sunday here's a Spurs eye view from the top of the Newcastle Stadium. Greg's going so that we
don't have to. At A Kent Pub they are not as confident as last week: Mine Host must have watered
down the beer.
