The time is now for Kenny Cooper if he wants to get Bob Bradley's attention for 2010. With two
friendlies on the horizon in November, steady play from the tall forward would likely earn up at
least a spot when the rosters are announced next month.

Every second or third year Danish clubs do well in Europe. Last year Aalborg Boldklub had an
excellent spell first in the Champions League and then in the UEFA Cup, and FC Copenhagen and FC
Midtjylland both did well in the UEFA Cup.So this season there were again great expectations that
Denmark could ascend in the ranks of European clubs, perhaps even to the degree of having a team in
the CL

We start with Denmark's SuperLiga, where Danny Califf was a 72nd minute substitute in FC
Midtjylland's 3-1 away loss to Brondby. All the goals were scored before Califf came on for Filip
Marcic. A better result for Michael Parkhurst and Nordsjaelland, who drew 2-2 with Randers. Stephan
Petersen (14th) and Nicolai Stokholm (48th) scored for Nordsjaelland.

In Danish "Agurketid" means "cucumber time", to denote a period with almost nothing in the news. I
guess these days are football-agurketid for me. Sure there are matches in the Libertadores, first

about Real Madrid), but without some of my favourite leagues there is not much to talk about.

It was ugly, the USA losing to Costa Rica 3-1, and some say the goals against the USA could have
been much worse if Costa Rica did not let up.
Let's face it, a team without a solid defense is pretty hopeless. USA fans will want to love
their players, but some realism is needed: do we have a back 4 that is up to the task of playing
World Cup soccer?

In the last few games of the Danish season Brøndby has managed to throw all away and end the
season an appalling way. It all started to go wrong when they were destroyed 0-4 by FC Copenhagen
in the match that in reality decided the title. But even after the debacle in Copenhagen, Brøndby
should have managed to remain in second position ahead of Odense B.
