So said the perennially smiling, ‘R' rolling, strikingly Mr. Bean-like looking Arsene Wenger
when asked about the significance of the trip to Cologne. Well, phase one ended on a good note
result-wise but there was a unerring sense of déj vu as far as the performance was
concerned.
Bright start
Yesterday was Arsenal's 3rd match of their pre-season and it was away in Germany to play FC
Koln. It provided the team with another 90 minutes of match fitness and also a chance to parade new
signing, Gervinho. The 30 minutes cameo by the Ivorian forward signed from Lille was as promising a
start that one could hope for.
Jenks jinxed Arsenal's recent signing from Charlton Athletic, Carl Jenkinson, announced his arrival
on the big stage with a spectacular 25-yard own goal against FC Koln. The Finnish Under 21
international hoofed the ball up in the air from 25 yards out. It sailed over the head of helpless
keeper Wojciech Szczęsny and dipped beautifully [.

After months of speculation and debate about whether Bolton would or wouldn't and whether they

Thursday, May 12 and have them on sale on the 19th.
The new USL PRO Orlando City SC franchise kicked off their inaugural season on a high note,
defeating the Philadelphia Union of MLS 1-0 Saturday at the Florida Citrus Bowl. The preseason
match was the first game played by Orlando City.
The Union came into the match having played three previous February friendlies against the USMNT
U-17 squad, the University of South Florida and the University of Central Florida.
