1. Old Trafford gave a great goodbye to Sir Alex Ferguson. Prawn sandwiches were pushed aside to create some serious atmosphere. 2. Quitting works. Both Manchester United and Everton got good home wins to say goodbye to departing managers. 3. It was a bittersweet weekend for Wigan. They upset the odds to win the FA [.
So here it is. Last day of the season and the all important game that could decide a variety of
issues as we go into the summer. Manager, players in and out and if we are dining at the big boys
table next season. To be honest, and I'm sure I'm not alone in this thinking, I'm truly
disappointed that 3rd place isn't signed, sealed and confirmed already and this game being the
celebration of that for the Spurs faithful.
It was not the send off that we wanted to see. For the fans or for Pat Rice. The 90 minutes was
the shorter version of what our season was. The bright start (Udinese) to the shoddy defending
(United away, Fulham away) to coming back strongly (Chelsea away, Sp*rs home) to more lapses in
defending (QPR away, Wigan home).

1. If OTP didn't know better we'd say that sounded very much like the sound of a squeaky bum
emanating from Manchester United's direction. 2. Carlos Tevez is back with a bang. 3. Fergie has
tried Nemanja Vidic, Rio Ferdinand, Jonny Evans, Phil Jones and Chris Smalling, but it turns out
the best protection he [.
Liverpool's failure to defeat Stoke at Anfield means that a Newcastle win against QPR on Sunday
would see the Geordies move up to sixth in the Premier League. How much has Kenny Dalglish spent?
How much have Newcastle spent? Oh yeah, and Liverpool have Stevie G. the world's greatest ever
midfield player (ahem).

1. A supposedly easy match against eastern European opposition and the referee awards England a
penalty after three minutes. He clearly didn't know how these matches are supposed to go. 2. Steven
Gerrard and Frank Lampard can play together... so long as Tom Cleverley is playing the
Lampard/Gerrard role.

Segunda Division B side Albacete Balompie have gotten around to unveiling their new strip for
2012/13 and 'The Clockwork Cheese' (that's their honest-to-goodness nickname!
Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has criticised the performance levels of Spanish referees this
season.
Rosell's club felt aggrieved by the decision of the Spanish federation's competitions committee
not to punish Real Madrid utility man Pepe for appearing to stamp on Barca forward Lionel Messi's
hand earlier this month.
Jose Mourinho believes the outcome of Saturday's Clasico could have been different had Real
Madrid not wasted some glorious opportunities.
Karim Benzema fired them in front after Victor Valdes scuffed a clearance and the Barca defence
were unable to clear their lines. Real had chances to double their lead during an end-to-end
opening half-an-hour, with Cristiano Ronaldo uncharacteristically wasteful in front of goal.
Andre Villas Boas wasted no time bringing Gylfi Sigurdsson to White Hart
Gylfi Sigurdsson was supposed to be Liverpool bound in a re-union with former Swans boss Brendan
Rodgers except Andre Villas Boas managed to spirit him away to White Hart Lane. Sigurdsson was hot
property after his performance lit up Swansea's season on loan from Hoffenheim.
Demba Cisse the most expensive player in the January transfer and the other half of the
Senegalese strike force alongside Demba Ba, provided an instant impact as he scored a majestic goal
on his debut. Majestic.
Ba and Cisse were away on ACN duty and how they were missed, especially Ba, who gave Newcastle
the lead in the 30th minute for his 16th Premiership goal.
Arsenal can confirm that Jack Wilshere has suffered a small stress fracture to the right foot
which is in a different location to his original injury. He will be reassessed in two weeks by
Arsenal's medical team. If all goes well (keeping fingers crossed), Wilshere might be back in time
for Arsenal's Ides of March schedule.
Did he? Didn't he? Cute finish? Botched control? Does it matter? The super slo-mo replays sure
don't do him any favours, but we're willing to give young Welbeck the benefit of the doubt on this
one cracking finish young man...
GIOVANNI Trapattoni has warned Italy not to anticipate any favours as the Republic of Ireland
endeavour to bowknot away of Euro 2012 with pridefulness restored.
Good draw for England in the Euro 2012 as they have been drawn against Ukraine, France and
Sweden. It is by now way an easy group for England, but considering who England could have been
drawn against, Fabio Capello cannot be too upset.
In every tournament there is a proverbial "Group of Death" and Euro 2012 is no exception.
Roy Keane has given a damning verdict of the England set-up and has claimed that as well as
wanting to spend more time with his family, Paul Scholes retired from international football
because of how things worked behind the scenes.
"England have not done well at big tournaments and everyone is intrigued by it, but the
priority for a lot of top players now is not international football," said Keane.
Whether Spurs have under-estimated some of their opponents in recent weeks is a matter for
debate but it's easy to forget that Fulham, our opponents on Sunday, have had a pretty decent
season and they will make it a tough fixture.
After a slow start under Martin Jol, the Cottagers are now in ninth place and with prize money
dependant on final placings, the club will know that a win on Sunday could even take them as high
as seventh.
Wenger's Team Selection discussed: by SV Greetings Gooners. I have been isolated in the wilderness
over the weekend and, as a result, was not able to blog, tweet or, more importantly, watch Arsenal
for several days. During my separation from civilisation, Wenger (not for the first time this
season) was given a fair deal of [.
Bayern Munich midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger has advised his club against buying rising star
Marco Reus. The 22 year Borussia Mochengladbach player has been the centre of attention for a
number of clubs including Arseanl who had shown an interest in him early last month.
Surprisingly, the reason why Schweinsteiger is opposed to Reus's move is because Reus is a
direct rival for his position in the team.
Frank Lampard's preference is to make a summer move to Manchester United when his Chelsea contract expires, according to the Daily Star. The reports follow suggestions that Chelsea had yesterdat performed a U-turn on their decision to move Lampard on and offered the England midfielder a new deal. That talk of a new deal is [.
With 72 hours before the Spanish Football season kicks-off, the Spanish Internationals were in
PUERTO RICO representing SPAIN in an International Friendly match which Spain won 1 - 2. The game
had no real sense except for some political favours between Football Federation Officials & the
money paid to see the European & World Champions.

My hands still tremble as I type. I've cleaned my teeth three times and had a tactical fry up yet
still the sour taste of Wild Turkey trips off my tongue. It really was a pleasure to see so many of
you and stop for a beer and a chat.
