Good afternoon. Well, it hasn't quite sunk in yet but amazingly we managed to beat the league
leaders last night and in brilliant fashion. Two fantastic goals a belter from Hernandez and a
skilful volley from Kewell was enough to secure the win. It was an unlikely result but to be
honest, we really deserved it.
We go back to the days of perms and short shorts to pick our team of the 1980s. That's the best
possible XI from the decade fashion forgot, but creative midfielders did not. We also discuss Fabio
Capello's shock resignation as England manager. Was Capello right to quit? Did the FA push him too
far?

Representing for non-oft mentioned WAGs on Kickette, here's the wife of Fox Soccer Channel's
Kyle Martino, Eva Amurri Martino.
Eva, an actress, was posing in a Neiman Marcus shoot alongside her mother, Susan Sarandon, for
the retailer's new "Art of Fashion" campaign.
Last time we checked, wearing hair rollers in public was a "Don't" in most sensible ladies'
books.
Well thanks to a recently misinterpreted decree from Vogue, the British press is now
claiming that the baffling, mind-boggling and completely WAG-like trend of wearing hair rollers
whilst out and about is now in fashion.
While staring at this photo of two Borussia Dortmund boys and their WAGs at a post-fashion show
party in honour of sweets and other high carb/high sugar delights, we were struck by one undeniable
truth: shop assistants lie. Oh, how they lie.
They lie to the innocent and cash-rich when they tell them, "Why yes, Mr Kehl, Palm Beach suits
are going to be huuuge this Spring.

Top of the morning to ya, Kickettes!
Hope you had a nice weekend filled with treats of the alcoholic and 'baller varieties.

- Nicklas Bendtner brought his two favourite females a pet snake and his rumoured new girlfriend
to the launch of "NB Jewellery" where his first collection, "N3," was presented.

That's our first rout of the season. The first of which we won and not the other way around. You
can count the Chelsea game as one but then it was not as one sided as this was. Blackburn tormented
us the last time we met and this was sweet revenge being exacted.
In the same way that a classroom descends into carnage when a teacher leaves the room for any
extended period, the Tottenham dressing room has become a violent and confusing place while Harry
Redknapp is away attending to his legal affairs. Yesterday, Spurs winger Danny Rose posted a video
on his Twitter showcasing teammate Sandro's full range of high kicks and martial arts poses.
"Not good enough."
Three words used often by football fans to describe aspects of the club they support. They're
used in relation to certain players, performances, the manager, the board, the price of a pint and
a pie, how their club handles various communications, pretty much anything they've got the hump
with for one reason or another.
We're quite certain this falls into the "breaking news" category, but we'll be damned if we put
the effort into Googling the amount of times a 'baller has been seen with his sweetie at Cricket.
For as long as we've been spouting nonsense and abalicious photos, it's never happened.
Perhaps Charlie's fiancée fancied herself a pair of limited edition Ruthie Davis hi-tops with
signature spikes, something she's been recently lusting over on Twitter.

other way around. Images via @rafvdvaart
It was only a matter of time before the living Barbie became a real Barbie, wasn't it?
Proud husband Rafael tweeted some pics of the Sylvie Barbie that was unveiled at a toy fair in
Germany today.
Deserved congratulations to Everton manager David Moyes on his 150th league victory Wednesday,
earned in emphatic fashion as brilliantly summarized here at EPLTalk. Moyes, 48, is the
third-longest tenured head honcho in the prem, behind only Arsene...

Discard your sensible trousers and shirts lacking in leather panels, fellas. This is the look.
The intrepid gentlemen (and ladies) at British GQ threw us for a loop yesterday morning
when they announced their annual list of Britain's 50 Best Dressed Men. Sure, the obvious choice to
represent all of 'ballerdom was there and we would've been perfectly satisfied if they left it at
that.

Like a lot of you, we've noticed that The Special One's dress sense has gone from GQMF to WTF.
Case and point: to sweat out Wednesday night's El Clasico, Jose wore track pants, a hoodie, and a
puffer vest.
Blackpool goalkeeper Matt Gilks tasted Premier League football last season with the Tangerines and
now the shotstopper is looking for his side to make a swift return to the top flight.
The Seasiders sit just one point off the play-off places in the Championship table in seventh spot,
in what has once again been a very competitive league this term with any side capable of getting a
result in any game.

We've seen all three wear much more exciting ensembles than these, but yet, they all look very
normal for a change. Tired, slightly annoyed even, but otherwise very normal.
Sara Carbonero's signature street style seems to fall in line with a "longer + looser = better"
mantra, which we can identify with on most Saturdays and Sundays.

If you're going to post images of yourself on popular social networking sites, it's best you
don't accompany each picture with the caption 'Look Of The Day'.
It has been an odd week for Milan. From the low that last Sunday's derby loss sank us to, the
club's fortunes rose steadily from one day to the next ending in triumphant fashion with a
convincing 3-0 win over Novara. The loss to the ‘Tinkerman's' Nerazzurri posed serious questions
over Max Allegri's men, from [.

He scores lots of goals and lets Jose Mourinho ride him like a pony, but that's pretty much all
we ever knew about Real Madrid's 24-year-old headline stealer.
Recently opening up in an interview, Callejón revealed that his bestie in the locker room is
none other than The Ramos™.
Optimistic Arsenal throw more points away in complacent fashion! by Adam Kemp As you are aware I
have been very quiet the past couple of months as I decided to give the readers a break from my
usual doom and gloom pessimism surrounding Arsenal FC. I have patiently watched our performance
over the past couple [.
Alan Pardew was extremely pleased following the 1-0 win against QPR yesterday afternoon at St.
James' Park, and handed new manager Mark Hughes his first loss as the new manager of the London
side. Davide Santon in action yesterday against QPR Newcastle started the game in rather dodgy
fashion, and for the first t20 minutes or so were decidedly [.
Tottenham Hotspurs are continuing their pressure on the Manchester Duo in the top of premier
league table after Harry Redknapp's side successfully defeated Everton 2-0 on Wednesday.
The victory excites Redknapp as with all three points, his team are now level on points with
second place, Manchester United, and only three points shy of the leader, Man City.

Lionel Messi took home the coveted FIFA Ballon d'Or trophy Monday evening, staving off tough
competition from Barcelona teammate, Xavi Hernandez, and Real Madrid rival, Cristiano Ronaldo (who
was a no-show since his squad is set to do battle with Malaga in the Copa Del Ray today).
When it comes to flying first class in casual clothes, there were three distinct themes that a
few Barcelona 'ballers and their WAGs abided by during the all important procession in front of the
paps this morning.
Options for you to pick from are below, with the question being: which of these couples' looks
best describes your own airport arrival style?
I had the chance to visit with a high school basketball team yesterday, and in their pre-practice
meeting, they were referring to an article that I had also once written about a couple of years
back. The article had to do with
toughness, which ESPN's Jay Bilas has a
pretty good reference point about.

'What goes around...' and all that jazzaroonie.
Tim Howard admirably chose not to celebrate after opening the scoring for Everton against Bolton
in specatcular, hoof-tastic fashion on Wednesday evening as a mark of respect for his opposite
number, Adam Bogdan telling reporters après le match that he'd 'been there before himself a long,
long time ago' and that he knew 'it wasn't a nice place to be'.

Kickettes, which state of commercial undress do you prefer to see from David Beckham?
A) Supremely shaped and styled in H&M boxer briefs (above).
Bojan Krkic was all but mauled by a Kickette Soldier girl at his book signing last week.
We're beyond proud.
Saturday
- Chelsea FC owner and Russian bajillionaire, Roman Abromovich, spared no expense for his New
Year's Eve party in St Bart's.
You could see it coming a mile off couldn't you!. Once again we struggled to break a side down that
comes here and lines up with ten men behind the ball. It's all well and good having the majority of
the possession of the ball but you HAVE TO do something with it.
How many fucking times am I saying the same thing over and over again?
The defending NBA champions lost their first three games of the season. Even worse, the Dallas
Mavericks lost the first two games in blowout fashion. However, in Game 4, the Mavs finally got
their first win with a 99-86 victory over the Toronto Raptors.
So, who was the hero for the Mavs? It was backup center Ian Mahinmi, he had 19 points, five
rebounds, two blocks and a steal.
Two goals by Craig Bellamy drove Liverpool towards success against Newcastle at Anfield and
returning Captain Steven Gerrard scored a delightful chip on 77 minutes to seal a 3-1 victory over
a dogged Newcastle following an unlucky own-goal by Daniel Agger under pressure on 25 mins.
The game was more about the victory than the performance and Liverpool dug it out in determined
fashion.

2011 was the first full year of life for our Kickette baby, The Style Files, and it's been quite
a year for WAG fashion. We brought you loads of exclusive fashion spots, shared unsolicited
opinions on fashion weeks near and far and tried to use our brain power to figure out just how many
black fur coats Alex Gerrard owns.
On a day that ended in such a frustratingly familiar fashion, one of the lone causes for
optimism was the return of Steven Gerrard. The captain's initial return effort earlier in the
season was cut short, leaving Liverpool with the task of forming an identity that didn't involve
the man who's been such an integral part of the club's success over the past thirteen years.
Just so I'm not accused of bias and favouritism by Real Madrid fans, some of whom I can count
amongst friends, I also found this video worth sharing with the wider world. In a similar fashion
to the Lionel Messi video (previous blog), here are all of Cristiano Ronaldo's goals from the
2011-12 season so far crammed into a 90 second piece.
Modelled by Pepe Reina's wife, we give you the Saffiano Lux Double-Zip Tote Bag by Prada.

Manchester United exorcised the hoodoo of Craven Cottage in emphatic fashion yesterday with a 5-0

Yes, we know we're testing you by referring to them as The Lampards prematurely, but close enough,
right?
Surely the Lampards and Redknapps will be getting enough of each other over the looming festive
period so what's one more event? The cousins and their ladies attended the Sun Military Awards at
the Imperial War Museum in London last night.

Are your Louboutins hung by the chimney with care? Have you already gotten so wasted at your
office holiday party that you've had to quit your job in shame? Have you opened all of the gifts
with your name on them and then re-wrapped them so no one knows about it? Then you are ready for
Christmas, dear Kickettes.
Croatian/ Tottenham footballer, Niko Kranjcar, was spotted looking worse for wear after leaving
night club C London last night.
O-M-G Niko. Please have a seat. We need to chat.
You know we lurve you and every inch of your toned thighs and tousled hair.
But this macabre ensembe concerns us.
